  • "This was the first time coming here and first time trying laksa and it was incredible I really enjoyed their Laksa, we got a wide variety to try a few things in the menu, I’ll start off by saying what we enjoyed the most, definitely their laksa in all meats the Angus beef, duck and seafood the perfect selection of noodles and the perfect amount of noodles also the dish was so filling and I will return to try more of their laksas, secondly their Roti was delicious also, perfect cooked and tasty! Pro tip: dip the roti in the laksa you won’t regret it! Thirdly their dumplings I really enjoyed aswell along with their chicken skewers! We also loved the robots delivering the food, it was definitely a fun experience! The food that we didn’t quite enjoy or that lacked in our opinions were the spring rolls, there was something weird about them and didn’t enjoy them, secondly an area of improvement would be their rice and chick dish tasted just a bit too dry, just wished there was some sauce and liquid broth in it that would have not made it as so dry"

My favourite place to dine in Southland. The food is always fresh and tasty. Service is quick and delivered by robots, that's always fun. I gave 4 stars because I like the QR code to look at the menu pictures but I prefer table service and a person to check on us throughout to add on drinks or sides etc. The QR system works well that this isn't an issue if serving yourself either. Portions are huge for mains. More than enough for 2 to share. Amazing value, great flavour. Fave dish is the roti chicken rolls. Yum!

I used to enjoy coming here but after my experience today, never again will I come back! I was with my family, there were four of us. Three of us got our meals and my daughter waited for hers. I asked twice about her meal and they kept saying it was coming. Then it finally came and it was the wrong meal! I went and spoke to the man at the counter whom I ordered from. He tried to tell me it was my mistake. How appalling. No apology and you tried to blame me. It wasn't even a busy night. Shame on you. You've lost my family as customers. We are never coming back. You deserve zero stars! Oh and the cheek of you charging me 50 cents for a takeway container for my daughter's leftover meal that she got so late and didn't have enough time to finish because you messed up her order. Disgraceful!!!

First time at Laska King. Husband had pork dumplings and steamed rice while I couldn't decide between vegetarian curry puffs and vegetarian filled roti rolls so ordered both (note brought half home) my dishes came out quite quickly and on the robot. So funny but seriously too gimmicky for me. Then we were waiting a long time for husband's food and eventually had to ask where it was. Waitperson, not robot, brought out dumplings and then had to ask for the rice which eventually came. Good grief Laska King food should be served together and why have 3 robot delivery servers and not use them. The food was really nice but the set up wasn't organised which always annoys me. May try again as the food was nice.

I have been a loyal customer who has supported for many years and have come on a weekly basis. Very disappointed tonight with the lack of service from staff and even their robots leave a bad taste in your mouth when you end up spilling your hot meal on yourself which has happened numerous times. Tonight was the final straw to find out that they are charging 50 cents for a take away box and don’t provide any alternative to take your meal home in. I was advised that the owner made this decision when the staff member laughed in our face. On principal, I will not be coming back as I feel you don’t value your customers and are simply ripping us off between paying for containers, paying additional surcharges and then not receiving any form of reasonable and respectful service.

Trying to find a healthy savoury Curry Laksa, and this one is not bad for a Vegetarian Dish, for $16.80. I would have liked to have seen some Bean Shoots/ Snow Peas/ Baby Corn/Red Capsicum, as it looks great from the top view, but I personally would really love more variety of Vegetables, considering the majority of the Meal is Noodles. Tofu was scrumptious, but needed more than 3 small pieces, also not a lot of Carrot included. Please add more Vegetables for those who are Vegetarian. Otherwise, loved the flavour and will go back again. The Robot delivery is a great idea for less 'Man handling' during Covid times, re the # of people who touch your plate.

First, let's talk about the food. The quality is similar to other Laksa King that I have visited. The laksa is what you must try. The soup is flavoursome, not too oily, and not too salty. The serving portion is just right. I have tried chicken and fish fillet. I think I like the fish fillet better. The laksa could be more spicy. Other dishes like Nasi Lemak and Hainan Chicken Rice are not bad too if laksa is not what you like. The serving portion seems a little smaller for these. Food is delivered by robots. This is interesting and the kids will love the experience very much.

Some of your food will be delivered on those Cat-Robot-Waiters which have been popping up recently. It’s very cool. The Seafood Curry Laksa here was awesome. The soup was rich and not too salty or mild. The prawns in it were juicy, but the fish fillets were overdone and rubbery. Some of the noodles were a bit dry and hard, too, but the soup was good and made up for it. The sauce on the Confit Duck was a bit too sweet for me. I know it’s a Sweet and Sour Sauce, but it was so sweet that I couldn’t taste the duck well. I would prefer it less sweeter, but this is just my opinion.

Both dishes that we ordered were alright. The beef rendang was slightly bland. Spacious restaurant with robot server. Hard to get the attention of the human staffs for questions as most of them chose to stand near the counter. And when I finally get the attention of one lady, she reluctantly walked over, showed an uninterested and rude attitude. Seems like I shouldn’t have called her since there were robots around. Long queue on weekend. Waited around an hour for my turn. Will not be back soon as there are many other restaurants around.

Pleasantly surprised to find a Laksa King at Westfield Southland. Located in the row of restaurants by the movie theatre it was certainly a treat. Ordered the Laksa with fish fillets, Laksa with chicken and the dumplings noodles. The Laksa broth itself was very rich. A little too rich from the coconut but do ask for the sambal to cut through the richness and bring more spice to the flavour. It was perfect with the sambal. Fish fillet was more than expected and cooked to perfection. The dumpling broth however was over salty. Should have returned it but... Overall I hope they keep up the serving portions. Looking forward to try other dishes in the future.

What a fabulous experience! We went there to have lunch on Sunday. As soon as we entered, Katy greeted us and gave us a table for two. Food Review: Vegetarian Laksa Soup : 5/5 The taste was great. The soup had lots of vegetables which makes it healthy too. Vegetarian Roti Rolls : 5/5 The food was very fresh and the filling inside the roti tasted YUM! Highly Recommend :) Food was served by a Robot which was cool. But I cannot emphasise on the great service provided by Katy. She was friendly and made sure we were looked after for the whole time. Thanks Team Laksa King, Keep it Up!!

Quality food, quality service, comfortable seating, everything was great!! I had a big bowl of chicken curry laksa, as someone who does not normally order laksa I was amazed at the size of the bowl (perhaps I need to get used to this!). The flavour was so aromatic and quite a decent amount of chicken was given, I was very full at the end and took some home for leftovers. Service was friendly and prompt, there was no wait to order our food and get attention. Very pleased with how we were accommodated for. Loved the ice cream dessert with the fruit, so simple and yet such a great way to top off a spicy meal.

I had the hainanese chicken rice here and it was the worst. The rice and chicken was dry, and it did not come with chicken broth soup which is what it’s normally served with. When I asked for soup, they said I would have to pay $2 which is ridiculous as it should be served with the meal. On top of this, I witnessed a family waiting outside to be seated for at least 15 mins. The staff could clearly see this but did not walk up to them once to greet or acknowledge them. Never coming back here.

A vibrant, welcoming and comfortable restaurant with good Malaysian food. One of the standout dishes was their lobak. The minced meat filling was perfectly seasoned with a blend of aromatic spices, and it was expertly wrapped in bean curd skin and deep-fried to golden perfection. The result was a delightful combination of crispy and tender textures with layers of rich flavors. The staff is friendly and attentive. And the dishes were delivered by a cute robot. :)

Ordered a wasabi prawn, never had anything so disgusting. Think of thickening sweet cream foam mixed with too much wasabi. Since I had it, I have been sicking and vomiting for the entire evening and the morning. I am still feelings like puking even when the stomach is completely empty. I would not recommend anyone trying something so disgusting ever.

Tried their laksa king in flemington feel really good so I ordered this today from southland shopping center. Bit disappointed they don’t have the purple cauliflower like they advertise on their DoorDash app and the take away method is different from the shop in fleminton. Though it still tasty but it charge more than the other shop and don’t have better quality even worse so I think next time I will just go to the other store instead this one.

  • Seb&Liam Bmeow

Not authentic at all. The coconut water taste like plain water because they are so dodgy put full of ice in it. Curry puffs doesn’t look like curry puff , I thought the kitty machine was sending the wrong food lol.. Lobak also doesn’t taste like a lobak. Satay skewer omg like a deep fried satay chicken too dried! I can even make a better one at home lol The only acceptable food was only the hainan chicken zzZ

I had the Laksa Seafood while my mate had the Char kway teow. My laksa was rich, creamy and coconut flavoured. The seafood pieces were generous and chunky; fish fillet, prawns, squid and scallops. The bowl is massive that you won’t need any entree or desserts. Wasn’t that spicy, mild at best. No complaints from my mate’s meal although it was more spicy. Great representation of Malaysia’s signature dish.

So good for there to be a Laksa King in the Southern Side of Melbourne! And great that it's quality is as good as the one in Flemington. Of course this place is most known for it's Laksa and highly, highly recommend it. But they do other dishes that are great as well, the duck fried rice is great. Definitely worth a visit.

Laksa King is a fantastic chain of restaurants that does some amazing Malaysian food, especially the chicken curry and beef rendang. Quality flavors and pricing is perfect..Not difficult difficult to love them This one's inside the Southland shopping mall and it very easy to locate. Just a fascinating fact about this place, sometimes they serve tables with their orders through a robot.

The FEES ARE OUTRAGEOUS! I’ll never go back! 15% Sunday surcharge, credit card fee surcharge, 50c to get a take out container when I didn’t finish my meal. This is absolutely ridiculous. It’s a real pity because the laksa was good.

Price too high. Quality of food has dropped. Service very slow. Staff rude. I believe I was charged twice. They are also charging fifty cents for a container to take food. I have been a loyal customer for years however the quality of food and poor service means I will no longer visit.

Seafood in seafood laksa was fresh and tasty. (Especially scallop, and the fish they used was not the cheap basa fillet) The beef in beef laksa was surprisingly tender. Prawn dumplings were not bad either but I don't think anyone should pay $2.1 for one small dumpling. Teh Tarik was VERY good. Overall, 3 star, 1 more star for the drink.

  • dannyt

Didn't mind the seafood laksa or the nasi lemak here. Not sure if affiliated with laksa king itself.. anyhoo for shopping centre food it was pretty decent. The seafood laksa had a good amount of seafood .. and the soup base was yum. The nasi lemak... I thought was ok only. WIR? Yeah it's not bad if ur after alternatives for choice ..

  • Stan Veloutsos

The laksa here is truly spectacular. The quality, flavours and quantity is up there with the best. I'm super surprised at the amount of chicken they put in the laksa, it's fantastic! Very good value. Staff are friendly also and the restaurant is very nicely decorated and spacious.

Great bowl of laksa and quite a large serving. The only thing I felt that was missing was some more bean shoots (wasn’t much in the bowl) to add a bit more texture. The roti was a bit on the thick side and not as fluffy but the curry sauce was on point.

Laksa King Kitchen, The taste of Malaysia, has outlets in four areas of Melbourne. Their signature dish, as the name suggests, is Laksa, a bowl of spicy noodle soup. We tried the seafood version and it was delicious. We also really enjoyed several entreé dishes as they arrived at the table piping hot and were very tasty.

I was in Heaven. Ive been in Kuala Lumpur and penang once, and the food reminds me my country, many sauces and strong flavours. The roti chanai is so nice, and all the curries and amazing, generous and yummy. Try the sea food and roast duck curry laksa. Feels weird the robot services, but well...

We’ve been visiting this place for the past 2 years and food has always been great. Our favourites are the Hainanese chicken rice and Duck curry laksa. These are the usual meals we order along with some sides. Service is always good. We manage to get a seat even during peak hours.

Better than expected from this food court/restaurant style Asian eating house. Well fitted out, good service and above average food which comes in large serves. Perfect for a meal before the movies - cheap and cheerful but also good quality.
