They have spacious parking and the park itself is quite big. There's lots of chickens and roosters walking about. And for someone who is scared of birds, this place would be a nightmare. The chickens and roosters are free to roam. They also have chicken feed you can purchase near the tractor to feed the animals with. Please be warned that they can get quite aggressive. And by aggressive I meant some huge roosters running towards your direction from a few yards away and into the fray of other chickens getting free food. So if you're scared of them, like myself, you'll want to stay away as far as possible. They have one big playground which can get packed on a weekend, especially in the morning. Lots of things going on, such as, events and parties on the picnic sites. The area for small animals was still closed when we went there but a goat and sheep came to us by the fence, looking for food. The smell can get quite overwhelming, especially by the barn. There are restrooms that are well-kept at all times. Plus, they have vending machines for sodas that come very useful on hot days! Update: Fall of 2022, I went there with my family again. We were walking around and saw a man emerge from the bushes. He seemed unkempt, his stuff/bag dirty, and I got the impression he was homeless. I didn't think anything of it. We walked around the park some more, and after half an hour, we want back the same way. The same man was washing his hands by a sink/grill. Near his backpack, was a plastic bag. I could make out the silhouette of a medium-sized chicken in it, not moving, with its legs up. Fast forward to May 2023, we came back and found the playground closed. So my son and I walked across the field and into the big steel barn-looking structure on the other end of the park. On our way back, my son stopped and stooped over. He saw a clump of feathers. A few more steps forward was another clump of feathers. And another. Then I saw bones and a little further on, I saw talons. Y'all! These chickens are being eaten there.
Playground
Quite large, 2 sets of swings
Restrooms
Clean
Picnic area
All the sites are reservable, some offer more shade from the sun more than others

Always enjoyed coming here. Either for a walk, party or get-together. It has many free range chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks strolling around which is quite unique for a city owned park. It has picnic/party areas which can be reserved for events, vegelution, community farm, large children’s play area, open green area, huge barns, pasture, animal area, international fruit orchard with wide variety of fruits from all over the world. Picnic/party areas can be reserved online or by phone. Below are the available areas with reservation fee for any day. They are super busy with events during the weekends but mostly under booked during the weekdays. Apple Orchard - $110 Citrus Grove - $135 Redwood Grove - $110 Rooster Row - $110 Rose Garden - $175 The Barnyard - Currently Closed Note: No balloons are allowed inside the park if you’re planning to do your event here. History: In 1950s, Emma Prusch donated to the people of San Jose to be preserved as an agricultural park. Best time to visit is early in the mornings when all the animals are in groups and enjoying their freedom. Plenty of parking available and no entry fees. Being in the area this is my go to park.

Nice place to take kids.Roosters,Ducks and Hen were all roaming freely in the park. The playground structure is huge and nice too.Tunnel slides, swings, climbing structures etc.Although, due to covid restrictions the feeding farm to see other animals like goats, pigs and other birds was not open.My kids loved watching the Other birds which were in the open space. The barnyard is huge but it was closed. We loved the walking around the fruits orchard which had so many fruits which were native to different countries. All trees had fruits like pomegranate, orange,Blackberries, pistachios etc and kids loved learning about them.we will definitely come back Once it’s fully opened again.

Huge park with something for everyone one. Chicken free range around the park. Big play structure for kids. There is a barn for 4H animals. Picnic areas with grills available for events and gatherings. The best part is probably the open field. The field can be used for any sport and because it is so big, multiple groups can play at the same time with out interferring with each other. Also have a community garden. Although located on a busy thorough fare, it has plenty of parking. In addition, across the street is a huge strip mall with popular stores like Target and Walgreens. Great spot for a free and fun family outing.

Amazing place for the whole family to spend a day! Especially, if you have younger kids! Playgrounds, dog-friendly open parks, picnic areas. Animals (chickens, peacocks) running around freely. There's also a learning center for kids. Walking trails. Live entertainment (be sure to check the schedule) Public restrooms, Community Meeting rooms and quite a bit more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. All in all, a great, fun experience with an amazing and friendly staff, right in our backyard! Highly recommend!

This is a good place to spend an afternoon picnic with family. Plenty of space to sit and relax with a decent size playground. The farm is a bonus when it's open. Lots of roosters and ducks around. But the highlight are the peacocks. There is also a cute little vegetable farm in the same area where you can find some fresh vegetables. Currently the playground and farm area is closed for renovation. Not sure when it will be open again.
Playground
Playground is under renovation.

I like going here cause it’s fun to see animals and they have a lot of birds that roam free around the property. They have a section of other animals but the last 2 times we’ve been there they had it closed off, this last time was due to some kind of animal flu that was going around. I get it, but is was disappointing. Hopefully that section will be open next time. The playground is great and the field is awesome too and I like seeing the fruit trees that they have as well.

Free city managed farm park that is open to the public. Great for kids to explore and feed the goats and chickens. There is also a park, many picnic/bbqs areas and a recreation center(reservation only)available. There some much needed work to revamp the place but other than that it's a nice cozy (much smaller than excepted) stop for kids and family. When parking, beware of rosters and chickens taking a stroll in the lot.

Except for the noise from the highway, this is an excellent park. Lots of farm animals (ducks, chicken, roosters, geese, peacocks, cows, horses) plus saddle rides for $10. The line for the rides was a bit long but well worth the wait. A huge playground, and also a large orchard with free fruit. A lot of picnic areas with barbecue pits and a wide lawn in the middle. Perfect for children and families.

  • steve t

This is a wonderful park to visit. The play area was under construction and there were no animals in the petting zoo area but the park was nice. It is neat to see all the different fruit trees that they have. This park is definitely worth a visit.
Playground
Was closed and under construction.
Picnic area
Pleanty of picnic places. Looked like you have to reserve them in advance though.

  • Najati Salhab

Great park and a variety of activities for the entire family. There's a community garden, plenty of trees from around the world. At this time of the year, a lot of trees are blooming, as shown in the photos I attached. There are also a lot of birds and animals that you can pet, goats, sheep, cows, ducks, chickens,... There's a barbecue area with a lot picnic tables and grills and barbecue pits.

  • Jay Chawda

It depends where you live in California and it was just like you feel like going out again to see the animals and eat snacks and drinks and the picnic area is like a gizbo in the hot summer and makes you feel better and reminds you of your own wedding .
Restrooms
The rest room was clean and there's 2 types of them.
Picnic area
The picnic area is a gizbo in the park.

For being covid time. It's a cute farm. Would be better if all the animals were present. We did get to see chickens, roosters who roamed free. We saw goats and ducks. Nice big playground for kids. It was super crowded. Porta- potty were available, with water to wash hands. Didn't see too much social distancing or mask wearing. Signs were posted but no one doing it.

Located in King and Story rd in San Jose, California. This farm park has alot to offer from animals, agriculture, history, the beautiful view. Great park for a picnic day, to an easy walk in the park. Great for kids. This park has plenty of parking, no parking fee, and its open to the public. The barn and animal area where closed to the public during my visit.

  • Jarry Sanchez

This is a nice place to take a morning walk and there are a lot of animals in the barn and outside. If you are interested of chicken fights this is the right place to enjoy and watch. Chicken fights only happen at random times so be lucky if you see a fight
Playground
There are a new play ground coming up and I don't know how long is going to take.

  • Murtaza Khandwawala

Its a big park with lots of space for small gathering. Enough picnic tables. We can book as well certain areas for celebration purposes. Barbecue space is also there in the reserve areas. You can spot chickens and peacock around you. Fun for kids. The play structure is huge but currently it's under maintenance. Enough parking space as well.

  • Agnes Kerchner

Great park and farm. They have farmers market weekly. Love the animal encounters, chicken, turkey, duck, cow, pigs, goats, and more. The kids love coming here. The playground is great. They offer summer camps and weekend programs for kids. My oldest son went to summer camp here for years. He loved it. Lots of picnic areas and party areas.

  • Ania N

Beautiful vast farm, with chickens, ducks, peacocks and cute cats roaming freely. Also lovely orchards. Several areas under construction, the biggest down side is nauseating high noise level from highway and the traffic near by. So if you are looking for a semi quiet place to relax in your weekend afternoon this is not the place.

  • Abigail Deng

one of my favorite farm park in the the south bay. We love to see the rosters and hens walking around the garden and kids are able to get close to them. And you can see gorgeous peacocks standing on the roof or strolling next to you. My son loves this park and we keep come back and visit these animals.

  • Arich62585

Very nice and well maintained park. Rented one of their halls for my kids 1st birthday and it was reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly and available if needed. There are also many peacocks, chickens and roosters running around which make it somewhat entertaining for the kids.

  • Maria G. Hernandez

Love this place. It is beautiful, spacious and well kept. The playground is good for all ages over 15 months. Not a lot of shade at the playground. Hens and Roosters rule the land here so if you have a fear of birds beware. They also have goats, peacocks, ducks and possibly ponies. More

This place was a true community place full of love! It was so great to be apart of the field trip with my daughter's class. We had a great time and you can tell the people there just want to help spread their love about farming, vegetation and animals :) I hope you will enjoy too :)

  • Jennifer Shapero

It was fun to see all the chickens wandering around but I was sad to see that the playground has been closed since February and they haven't even started renovating it yet. At least my 4 year old had a few things to do, like sit on the display tractor and walk through the orchard.

  • Sarah Baird

This was a fun park to see wondering chickens and peacocks. There are also areas where we saw a pig, rabbit, sheep, turkeys, and goats. Fun place to walk around even though the new playground isn’t open yet (looks like it will be a really great playground when it’s finished). More

  • Vanessa Diaz

Great little farm and park that includes picnic tables available to reserve for parties. Very few animals in the barn during the time we visited, and we could not enter the animal area since they were giving a tour. Overall it’s a great place to take your kids.

  • Jason Krein

A nice big park, has chickens roaming around, a nice garden, and plenty of seating area. Only downside is that the small animal area was closed when we went (May 14) because there's some virus going around . Also the playground is still under construction.

  • その不快な孔雀 /Zandrae

This is a nice park, I like it, but if the birds haven't been checked out by a vet lately, it might be time. I found a handsome peacock who'd become concerned with a blue truck during my visit and it made my day. (No he didn't attack it.)

  • Melinda Kobayashi

Come here if you want to see chickens, horses, cows, and assorted farm animals. You can feed the birds (bring quarters for the feed dispensers). Wasn’t too crowded for a Saturday and parking was easy to find. There do pony rides. Really
