We attended the Menagerie Oddities shindig at the Winchester Mystery house! I have lived here my whole life & have never been on the grounds of this historic building that Sarah Winchester had built! A historic treasure indeed! If it wasn't for the Menagerie Oddities I would not have visited and were very happy that we attended! Loads of oddities indeed. By that I mean you can buy a baby rabbit fetus in some kind of liquid that preserves the deceased animal in particular. Very interesting for sure! Really dope artistry all hand made by these very talented artists! They had tarot readers & seers. Ladies selling tools like candles, crystals, smudge sticks, herbs for cleansing, & palo santo...All really beautiful with great quality! Durable hand made bags & aprons. I mean the list goes on. And what an awesome setting to be able to walk/wheel around the outside grounds of the inner circle of the mansion. Indigenous plants, herbs, & trees planted strategically to the area. Very beautiful!!! I need to plan a visit to see the inside! Or perhaps attend the overnight stay during October season.

A must-see experience for every fan of the eccentric or unusual or even Victorian architecture. It's difficult to convey my feelings about the Winchester Mystery House. I'm not a believer in spooks or spirits, so the exact reason why my memory of the house has lingered at the front of my consciousness for weeks after my visit is peculiar to put it mildly. My initial impression was simply how overwhelming the maintenance of the house must be on an ongoing basis. We paid for the 10:50 am "Guided Mansion Tour" on a Saturday. Tickets were $41.99 each. Our tour guide was Marissa, a lovely young lady wearing a period costume. She was professional, enthusiastic about the property (she referred to the Winchester House as a "home" throughout the tour), and a delightful host. We heard some of the other tour guides that overlapped ours due to the layout of the house, and I am pleased that we were lucky to be assigned Marissa for our tour. She was great! Highly recommended!!!

Have never been here before so I will review everything I did individually…. Oct 6- Unhinged experience VIP 930pm This is a fun experience for kids, but pricey and in my opinion not worth the price. Oct 7- spirit tour 150pm Fun and informative. Vic was a great host with a lot of stories and experience (I believe he has been there since 2018) Answered any and all questions- great host! A+ Oct 8- mansion tour Also fun and informative! Victoria was our host this day. It was only her second day and you would have never known it! She was wonderful. Answered all questions and was so much fun. Everyone truly enjoyed her, I feel she has a long time employment here (maybe even into the afterlife ) I bundled the last 2 tours which made it a great deal. Also, these 2 tours take you to different parts and rooms of the house so I highly recommend doing both! I really loved all the stained glass in the house.

Loved our visit to this place! Me and my bestie have always wanted to see the Winchester Mystery House and it did not disappoint! Only thing disappointing was that urban sprawl has encroached upon the surrounding area and has the essence of putting this beautiful property in a little hole. My friend always imagined it as being away from the city and on its own little land high on a hill somewhere. But still, the mansion was cool and mysterious, even during the day. My friend said she felt anxiety in one of the rooms and, for some reason, the seance room was much colder than any of the other rooms. I thought a window was open, but there wasn't! Our tour guide had a dry humor, but it was appropriate for this kind of establishment. Slightly creepy, very interesting, and just the right amount of historical facts to make the tour enjoyable. Bring your walking shoes! This place was huge!

The Winchester Mystery House tour is amazing and so completely worth visiting! Our guide, Kai, was knowledgeable, captivating, and friendly. He shared facts, not fiction, while sharing the story of Sara Winchester's life. The house is a piece of fascinating, historic architecture, full of interesting tales and visuals. I would totally take this tour again, it was so fascinating I am sure I missed things because I was so enthralled! The gardens are beautiful and so peaceful to stroll through. We went on the regular tour but will definitely go back for the Candlelight tour! Oh! And the Menagerie of Oddities & Curiosities Market that was taking place was super rad with local artisans and artists, can't wait to go back!

It was interesting, the house was a novelty and a fun piece of history. Sarah, our guide, was nice and very knowledgeable. My other thoughts: the tour ran about 90 minutes, which was a little long for me at the end, though the most elaborate rooms are at the end so it ends on a high note. The price is very high, totalling $90 for the two of us. I've been to a lot of historic monuments, palaces, castles, etc. and that's the highest price I've ever seen. I don't think it's worth it-as a comparison, the Tower of London or Westminster Abbey is almost half the price. Interesting, but priced too high. Tickets sell out so you might want to reserve online.

I love this place. It's been twenty plus years since I've been over here so I thought I should check it out again. It's amazing how much you forget over the years. It's just a neat old quirky house. The story behind it really does enhance the experience. We only did the house tour because it was raining. Like I already said, I loved it. The guide was great and there was plenty to see. Would recommend. Not a lot of pics because I was too busy looking with my eyes.

We had a great experience on the mansion tour! I had been wanting to visit for a really long time and we finally got to visit on our honeymoon! The tour was interesting and informative thanks to our great tour guide (who I believe is named Tim - apologies if wrong) who you could tell had a real passion for the house and for his job. And thanks to him for making us feel special!! I highly recommend a visit!

Definitely a must see in San Jose, I attended a walk with the spirits tour. It lasted around 1 hour, or guide Katy was kind and very informative. The tour takes you through a lot of the house and there’s tight spots where you have to duck and wear a hard hat. So if you have mobility issues it could be a little challenging. Theres also stairs to climb. But overall a great tour. My group had a lot of fun!

Our tour guide Will was the best! He was the kindest most patient with our teen. If you come to San Francisco is a must! The history is very well told and the house in itself is amazing. So beautiful, excellent preserved so mysterious and a mischievous. We paid 45 with taxes and the tour was about 1 hour 15. We bought the tickets in advance, and didn’t wait at all. IS A MUST!

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We loved learning about the history of the house and about Sarah Winchester. Our tour guide, Yazmeen (spelling?), was very knowledgeable, and we loved the little jokes. You are able to walk around the grounds after your tour. My kids want to go back and do the spirits tour. I would suggest buying tickets ahead of time as tours sell out.

Well worth a trip to see the kooky Winchester mansion. It's well furnished, and the Christmas decorations were fun and fitting in the house. The multiple sets of stairs on the standard tour are worth consideration if you're going with children, seniors, or mobility restricted people. The tour is about a mile of walking. They do offer ADA tours as well.

I did the house tour and it was amazing! The tour was designed well and the tour guide was friendly and professional. I love how she shared new findings in the house. Also prior to arrival I needed to switch to a different tour and the admin person for the email inbox was very accommodating. I would come back again!

For 13 years I've been waiting for this tour and it was worth every penny. The tour guide was fantastic, the gardens were easy to navigate and the gift shop was pretty alright. The gift shop was a tad expensive but if you want memorabilia it was perfect. I love this place and I hope to return another time.

Historical aspects that were beautiful to see. Great tour guide with a sense of humor. We went in August so it was hot but we still enjoyed the tour. Lots of walking, lots of stairs, some original items, but most things were brought in to recreate the home dynamic. We definitely want to go back and see the other tour options.
Awesome museum. Even if you don’t believe in all this mystery around this house, the place is worth to visit. People who work here do amazing job, maintaining the building and interiors as well as providing high level guide tours.

Been a good many years since visiting the Winchester Mystery House in the mid-70s. Was in the area so thought I would check it out again. I do not remember much about my first tour. Kaitlyn on this tour provided great information with her good spin on humor! Definitely worth visiting when in the area! More
The “walking with spirits” tour was awesome and Jennifer was a great guide! I would recommend this tour if you are the type of person who is curious about exploring the more spooky parts of the house. I have known of this house for a long time and was excited to finally get the chance to visit!
House was amazing. Would love to have free roam of entire house, but of course that isn’t possible. Tour was great, just a little rushed. An hour long, but not much time spent looking around the areas you go to. Just a quick stop in each room with a story. More
Wonderful experience and great history lesson. The gardens were free when you purchase any ticket. Also all of the shops were amazing and had great things to buy and look at.

It's great especially if you're not expecting to see a ghost, I went twice once a long time ago with my family and recently for Halloween night. I enjoyed it both times. They go all out for their Halloween party n I was glad I came for that, had a blast! More
I've been here a few times, most recently for their Halloween Unhinged event. Year-round, I recommend checking out their tours and gardens. They regularly host events. All spooky stuff aside, it's a beautiful estate with fascinating architecture. More
Highly recommend buying tickets in advance especially on the weekend. Be sure to show up in advance to find parking. The main lot is usually full but the overflow parking lot has plenty of space and only takes a minute or two to walk over.
We were in San Jose for a concert and found the Winchester Mystery House while searching for things to do during the day, and I'm glad we did. The one hour tour was great, and our tour guide gave us some great history while injecting a lot
We really enjoyed our Walking with Spirits tour. Our guide Milo was amazing! I highly recommend visiting The Winchester Mystery House. The grounds are beautiful and the house is truly unique. Do not fall behind. It is easy to get lost. More
We absolutely loved this house! Our tour guide Olivia Maldonado went above and beyond for our tour. We loved the architecture, history, "haunted" part and everything else. Olivia let us rest when my Make-a-Wish kiddo needed a break and we
You just end up asking yourself “why?” through the entire tour. Why did she waste all this time and money on a house that benefited no one? Why didn’t she consult with one decent architect? You’ll never know. The tour was decent but a bit
My first time visiting Winchester Mystery Mansion. Decided to make it a day trip with cousins. Bought tickets online and when you purchase 1 tour, the second tour is given at a discount. It was a fun experience. Our first tour was The
Had a Blast. My first time there and will definitely go again. My granddaughter's first time as well and she wants to go again and take her siblings. That will be our next adventure when the little ones get a little older.
