My friend came home with lunch and had been to Gusto’s which is a bakery I’d been to a few times before. I’d found the staff lovely, the variety of food fabulous and food is tasty. My pie was nice and hot and plenty of meat filling. The vanilla slice was a nice blend of custard and icing - not too sweet. Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly. Good parking.

● June 2023 ● ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars I drove pass and saw the sign of the best vanilla slice in Melbourne so I thought I'd give it a try. Vanilla slice was nice but I don't know if it's the best. I guess I have to keep trying more all over Melbourne. Fruit scone was good but caramel slice was too sweet. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Thank you

Always great consistent pastries , cakes and pies. Loved the original in Strathmore this one is just as consistent and delicious My favourites are the vanilla slice and the sausage rolls ❤️

A very good village bakery. Great selection of hot pies, coffee and cakes. A range of take-home family pies and quiches also available which make a good dinner option. I’m not a fan of the vanilla slice but theirs is award winning and seems very popular. Always clean with friendly staff. Recommended.

3.5. Just a coffee stop today. Not a bad one at all. Made well. Went down well. The brew was a good one. Nice service here too. Polite, cheery and efficient. The pies, pasties and cakes look good here. I was sad I didn’t try them. I like the look of this place. Marked down as a must return.

Little cute bakery ! So many tarts, cakes and pies. I had a lemon tart which was 2/5 I didn't enjoy it. Went there for the french Vanilla slice and it was very delicious and its definitely one of my fav places to get a French Vanilla slice. And my fav part was the pricing absolute bargain!

Customer service from here is second to none. I came in with my partner and was looked after so well without any pressure to buy just recommendations and compliments. She reminded me of my mum. Oh and the potato pies and cakes are to die for here!

Mum always used to get the lumberjack (I think) cake from here when I was little. Well, not always, maybe once a month. It was always delicious though, and when I came to visit later on the place was so nice and the people were so friendly.

Visited from interstate. Recommended by locals. Enjoyed it so much, came back the next day to have as an airport snack! Price point very fair ($3.90), pastry stayed crisp and fresh, custard on the creamier side and not too sweet.

Best lemon tart I've found in Melbourne - perfect zest and fruitiness. Always reliable coffee, and a diverse range of patisserie. They have wonderful cakes, and ice the name or celebration plates individually. Highly recommend.

Stopped here to try "Melbournes best Vanilla slice" the food was ok. Store clean and staff pleasant. Not sure what the Vanilla slice was judged on. While it was nice it was no better than anywhere else. Prices fair.

Picked up some chocolate croissants today, basically day old bread with chocolate inside. None of the buttery layers that croissants are meant to have. More similar to the frozen croissants you get from Coles :(

The only thing I have ever had from is their Vanilla Slice and I must say it’s one of the best I have had. They don’t have it all the time and whenever they make it it’s usually gone in a couple of hours.

The vanilla slice definitely lives up to the hype. Also tried one of the meat pies, the filling was delicious but the pastry was a bit average. The service was also excellent, very friendly people

Everything here is good, but not mindblowing or extraordinary - I don't think it deserves the "best in Melbourne" hype some people attach to it. It's just a decent little bakery. That's all.

Always great food. Service is quick and cheerful. I am yet to find a better vrench vanilla slice in Melbourne. The pastries are always on point especially recommend the traditional pasties.

My little one gravitates towards Gusto for their “saucy trolls” and sweet treats after school. Family favourite! Just sampled the petit fours this weekend and they were also delicious.

Good bakery but Asian lady at the counter (must be the owner as employee can’t survive with that attitude) was very rude. She doesn’t care about customers at all. Not going again.

Small bakery with exquisitely made sweets and savoury food. The customers can be a bit wanky but that's typical of this neighbourhood. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Best pie I’ve found in Melbourne! Finally a decent bakery. Snag roll was good too. They don’t sell choc milk which is strange for a bakery but can see past it.

Walked past this bakery and bought one beef pepper pie. The pie taste so delicious with perfect seasoning. Definitely go back again. Best pies in town.

Great pies and delicious cakes. Cheese burger pie was loved by the ten year old. A nice range of small cakes as well as delicious vanilla slice.

Needed to try out the award winning vanilla slice. Opted for the French Vanilla as I prefer no icing. It was very nice, light, creamy. Winner.

Love the French vanilla slice and the fresh cream sponge cakes. Unfortunately sometimes sold out of vanilla slices if come later ;-(.
