I have always held this company in high regard, despite them being expensive, and that is why my daughter chose them again to assist her with her recent move. She was not moving far, nor did she have a lot to move, but it seems the two young and inexperienced men who were allocated the job were more interested in getting it done as quickly as possible, rather than doing it carefully and respectfully, as all customers expect their items to be treated. . In their haste, they did treated my daughter's items very carelessly, resulting in breaking one of those items. While her belongings may not be of the highest quality, it does not mean they do not deserve to be treated with respect. She was reimbursed about 1/3 of the cost of the item, which she will now need to replace, and being on a pension, she is on a tight budget, so that is an added cost she could have been spared had the job been done correctly in the first place. Another example of their carelessness, was the treatment of her mattress: instead of waiting for both men to move it, one of them thought it was appropriate to drag it along the ground on his own. She chose this company because, although not cheap, when she last used them, they treated her belongings with care, and they were pleasant to deal with. Based on this experience, the quality of this company has certainly plummeted in recent years. I know we certainly will never use them again, and I certainly won't be recommending anyone else to use them either.

I used Man With a Van for a residential move, and despite having a great experience previously, this move did not go smoothly. While the movers were punctual and physically capable, the overall handling of my belongings, and response to damage, left much to be desired. Several items sustained noticeable damage during the move. These included our washing machine, solid wooden table, desk, a bookcase, and a lamp. The damages ranged from surface scratches to noticeable dents, some of which regrettably cannot be repaired. The movers took less care in handling furniture than I would have expected, and seemed more interested in rushing to finish rather than taking care and pride in their work. This carelessness is unacceptable, particularly when MWaV charge good money for their service. In an effort to address these concerns, I provided the company with detailed feedback, and photos demonstrating the damage. After an initial acknowledgment I didn't receive any further response from their service team. This lack of follow-up raises questions about their commitment to customer service and satisfaction. It's disappointing to have to leave such a review, particularly after having had positive experiences with their movers in the past. In light of this experience, I would not recommend Man With a Van for future moves.

Earlier in the year I had a delivery for a 1 bed apartment to my new apartment 20 minutes away. I submitted details online for a quote quickly and missed putting in all my items like my fridge. When the removalists arrived they didn't bring a large enough truck and they said they'd communicate with me if they needed to leave anything, which they didn't. When I went back to my apartment later there was so much stuff they'd left behind, I had to book another removalist plus do 2 car trips to get everything (moving a fridge when you live alone with no equipment isn't possible). When I wrote to the manager they apologised and all they offered was a discount on 1 hour of moving in a future move. There is no chance I'd ever book again with this company, especially after paying almost $900 to move a 1 bedroom apartment (which they didn't even complete). I haven’t had to make a comprehensive list prior to booking a removalist before and it should be clearly stated that you must list everything before booking.

What a great investment this was! I decided that I would throw money at this problem as I was just too time poor to move house this time around. I went with MWV because they are local and I remember seeing them move other apartments in my building and they looked professional. From the estimate state through to the day itself they were all over it, understanding, engaging, and friendly. They moved all my furniture down elevators, through the rain and into a confined storage cage without a single tear in the bubble wrap! Just a word of warning to anyone considering them. Job estimates are just that, estimates. My job was simple but I neglected to detail the size of a few pieces of furniture and this cost me extra time, adding to this was parking issues here in Richmond which also added time. So my bill was a bit spicier than expected. But you know what? You can’t put a price on your back! And the headache they saved me was worth double what I paid. I will definitely use them again.

Daniel who took the booking went far and above though, good guy. Tip- ask for experienced removalists when booking, as my friend had great guys do her move recently. The removalists were nice, but inefficient- slow to problem solve and one took ikea drawers out individually- was frustrating to see. We felt that they should each be working with experienced people to learn some tricks of the trade. They couldn't take the 3 heavy things I needed (as per the quote)- they said they were too heavy. They were obliging to fill the van with other things. It wasn't the 3 items I needed moved by them though. Removalists from another company moved these items today- these guys were much stronger and far more skilled- had no problem doing it. They were quicker too. I did get a $100 discount for the incomplete service. They were technically "a man with a Van", and nice people, but not removalists.

There was a misunderstanding with my booking, as it was not confirmed but I thought it was. The day of my move, I called them confused as to why they hadn’t shown up, they told me I hadn’t confirmed. Even though I had called the day prior to organise drop off details…. BUT to my surprise, they had organised a group of movers and truck that showed up 2hrs later! Because they understood that I had taken the day off work and couldn’t move any other day. The two movers were super lovely, and efficient. With 4 total locations of pickups and drop offs, they did my entire move in 4 hours. Nothing was damaged or broken. The booking system was very clear and easy to use, in comparison to other removalist sites. Will definitely be using this company for future moves. Just make sure you’ve 100% confirmed your move before your move in date.

Three years ago had such a great experience with them, I got them again this time round, knowing they are more expensive. I'm happy to pay good service. But I had to down grade the 5 star to 3 now. Disappointed. Still friendly and all, but felt that I pay more for inefficiency. What is the most disappointing is when they hear things drop, they don't go back to pick it up, which the people last time did. I will try someone else next time. ===== Edit (after owner reply): thank you for the offer. But when every time I move in bed it makes a noise as it may come apart and the delay in update is I was told my keys was left on a table, I cleared every inch of my place, it's NOT at MY property and last I saw it is in the removalist's hands just before he left. Also waited I have changed my lock. So the rating is going down to 1 star.

This is a long pending review. We moved from a high rise building in Melbourne to a single level storey house in a south-east suburb during lockdown and the whole process of moving was seamless for us. The team arrived on time, were super friendly and as they were practising a covid lockdown approach(enforcing social distancing), they asked us about all the stuff that had to move and then we sat in a separate room and enjoyed our morning coffee and croissant while they moved the stuff. I decided to move some things myself but they were nice enough to check with me thrice in case I wanted them to move that as well. They did the whole move in a record time of 3.5 hours (the exact time that they had given us at the time of booking). I highly recommend them and will be definitely using their services in future.

Recently had a job with them. Very nice and friendly people. Not major issues with the speed. However we ended to having two trips and paying 1600 for a 3 bedroom(only furnished two room!!!.) In the website they listed large trucks enough for 3 bedrooms. Two of these trucks (meaning enough for 6 bedrooms) was not able to move all our furniture!!!!! No dining table and chairs!!!!! No clothes and baby stuffs!!!!! If you decided to move with them, make sure you triple your truck size they offer. And count every single piece for quotation. You might need the dimensions and the shape of your furniture to make sure they do a proper estimate and quote. We started opening the boxes found few broken items as well as they dropped boxes. Not recommend them. High price does not always mean good quality.

I highly recommend Man with a Van. Thank you especially to Tim, Shawn (sp?) and James for their professional, efficient, and quality work on our moving day. They were prompt and responsive, and made moving under lockdown covid-safe protocols an easy, contactless, and stress-free process. Not only that but, because they still had plenty of room in their van, they took the initiative to also take the boxes we were just going to take in our own cars, saving me multiple trips back and forth. They were also very efficient, taking all of our items from our unit in just over an hour. Altogether, it only took them 3 hours (16 minute drive to our new home) and all of our items arrived safely. We are so grateful for their service and would not hesitate to recommend them or use their services again.

ONKY USE THIS Man WIRH A VAN IF YOU WANT A NIGHTMARE! I have a lot of stuff to move so I emailed Man With A Van in advance with photos showing absolutely everything and spoke with them on the phone. They said that they would have 5 people and two vans. Because I was concerned about their $450 per hour price tag and knew the price would be based on the amount of time they would take, my family and I moved all of the small items over the before today. They arrived with the two vans but ONLY HAD 3 movers. Upon arrival, the movers told me that it would cost me more than they quoted. They started moving a few things from the back yard and then left without saying a word. I then got a phone call from their office that their drivers did not feel safe (there is nothing unsafe at my property).

I've used Man with a Van now for 4 moves, and I've been incredibly impressed every time. Most recently I had a very short move-in window for an apartment, and needed to source furniture from 3 different locations at the same time. The team did a great job in listening to what I needed to collect, and creating a schedule for the move that included 4 movers and 2 trucks. Everything ran like clockwork, communication was perfect, and they accommodated a change of schedule in the week that the move was planned. I'm very happy with the care taken by the movers, their attitude with nothing being too much trouble, and their professionalism and close team culture. Friendly, great banter, but they worked hard and efficiently to get the job done! Thanks, and I'll be sure to use them again!

I booked Man With A Van on behalf of my boss to move some items between storage units after a residential move. The job ended up being 10 times bigger and more complicated than I had booked for and the guys who did the job, Thomas and Charlie, were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to get the job done. Their manner was so professional and they did the whole job with a smile on their faces- extremely impressive effort on their part- they are a huge asset to your company. They deserve a raise after putting up with me all yesterday afternoon!! The final price was honestly very reasonable and less than I expected. I have had a really pleasant experience with Man With A Van. Gabrielle and his colleague were the two gentlemen that helped me move on the day. From the beginning of enquiry, booking and the day of delivery, this company provided really solid communication, which is quite rare amongst different removalist companies. I was super impressed with how professional and friendly Tristan and Vincent were with moving my two bedroom house today. I had some furniture that proved quite tricky, especially when moving it into a tiny townhouse with narrow hallways and stairs but they both tackled it with a positive attitude and a good sense of humour, and were super careful with everything. I was so grateful to have had their help on moving day, it made everything a lot less stressful knowing my belongings were in safe hands! I was really impressed and would have these guys back to move my things in a heartbeat (although they may want to stay away from the horrors of my narrow staircase for a while).

Due to my location where I live that was flooded I had to move a business consignment from the port warehouse to a storage area in Melbourne. Man with a van exceeded my expectation. They may be a bit more costly than others but freight insurance is part of the deal. Most removalist do not offer insurance which is risky not to have. I found all office staff very professional and courteous. Tom the driver was very courteous and did an excellent job. All this was done in my absence as I could not travel to Melbourne due to flood in our area. I highly recommend them if peace of mind is important to anyone who is moving.

Excellent. Everything was perfect. From the moment they arrived and left. I was very satisfied and would recommend them to whoever needs help with moving. Compare to others - no surcharge for credit card or staircases I was estimated for a single bedroom apartment with 396l fridge, washing machine, couch, 20 other small and little boxes, plants, palm tree by 3hrs and $700. And paid at the end $516. In the first builduing I brought all boxes down. They only had to pick up the big items. But than they had to carry everything 3 levels up on stair cases. No lift was available. Excellent job. Very friendly and calm

Absolute legends over at MWAV. I got a move done this morning, just a one bedroom so nothing major, but nonetheless I was absolutely blown away by how good the guys were. Super professional, know what they're doing and do it well, friendly and down to earth- just really good blokes. It also got done a lot quicker than I expected and cost less than the original quote, which was even still a really good rate. I rung for a quote to move a few thing's, happy to hire for an hour maximum (one 20 min trip)and got quoted alot of money, $$$$$ so much so that I commented that it was way too expensive for the small job and he was really rude to me and aggressive on the phone and also said it was 2 hour's minimum and hung up on me. please don't deal with this company as they are not customer focused but all about taking as much money from you as possible. I'm a business owner myself and would never speak to a potential customer like that.

I cannot recommend this company more! moving can be a very stressful time and these guys made it an absolute breeze. not only did they move everything with care, the van was packed perfectly. i never felt rushed or under the pump, they were friendly and offered to move things around if needed. i will be using this company every time i move. even organising the move on the phone to head office and chatting with them was a delight. Considering the current restrictions and everything were very covid safe. absolute legends!

Phone service was great, low wait times and very helpful/knowledgeable staff. Email communications came through immediately for quotes, job updates and even the receipt after having paid (payment taken in full upon job completion). We moved a two bedroom apartment quicker (or would have been, but I made a clerical error on booking a lift…) and would have been under quote. They understood any pitfalls a move between apartments can be, and pre-empted them. Experience and professionalism shows, and I would highly recommend them to family and friends in the future!

I have never had a smoother moving experience. My movers Ben and Cooper were prompt, professional and affable. They had to manouver my furniture into a lift and ride it to the eleventh floor. I'm sure they would be great at Tetris. Ben and Cooper completed the job under the expected quoted time and saved me $90. We moved for the fourth time using Man With A Van today and could not be happier. They were extremely efficient, great guys and took great care of all our belongings. They were so patient with our kids running around plaguing them with questions and any indecision as to where things were going to go. The boys were on time and super efficient. It was a hot day and they worked really fast, leaping up and down our flights of stairs. They easily moved our big fridge down twisted stairs with ease. They filled the truck so well and squeezed in all our extra boxes and cupboards. They were lovely and polite and eager to please. I've moved 18 times now and I've never felt so stress-free.

Man with a van people Wilfred and Kinsey stole shoes that were expensive. They asked me if they could fill water and as I waited for them to come back in with the bottle, they suddenly decided to leave my garage open and just leave without a word. My expensive shoes were stolen and I expect a refund for the pairs of shoes that have been taken.

The guys I had yesterday helping me move did such a great job. They were on time (even a little early), efficient, friendly and accommodating.
