Bit more decent than average banh mi you get from anywhere. I Had crisps pork roll with iced coffee for my lunch. Portion was good enough and overall bread roll was meeting basic of banh mi very well. I was queuing from even outside but que was going really quickly because there were enough staff. Bread was fresh with nice crunchy outer skin. Wouldn’t say no to going back to get another one only if I’m already around. These days I’m fixed on banh mi and I’m traveling all the way to find the best place.

I had most expensive $10 Vietnamese ham roll. And $10minimum credit card is such old fashion. If you really wanna visit here don’t forget to bring cash:( Also, I have been to South Melbourne and Collingwood stores many times, they are all different prices but they never cost $10 for ham roll, it’s usually $8 - $8.5. (Collingwood one could be cheaper.) Nothing special about here anymore. I would get a $10 bowl of noodle from the shop nearby. I won’t come back. Avoid this dishonest shop.

This is my favourite Bahn Mi place in the CBD. The bread is freshly baked at the premises and really makes the rolls. The place always has a really long line, but even at its peak you would be waiting around for about 10 mins. They are certainly a well-oiled machine and get things done super efficiently. Not a huge fan of their sweets but their rolls, schnitzels and spring rolls are outstanding. Great place if you want to spend around $10 for lunch

I am really not sure what’s so special about N Lee. The line was long but thankfully moved very quickly. I ordered a grilled pork roll expecting grilled pork marinated with lemongrass type grilled pork but what I got was so crappy BBQ pork. The sauce doesn’t taste like the normal Vietnamese sauce, I couldn’t even detect the pate. Nothing like the viet sandwiches I have in Richmond, footscray etc.

The king of bahn-mi - if you're patient enough to wait in the quick moving queue you'll be treated to the perfect split baguette laden with your filling of choice, crunchy salad, Vietnamese pate and of course the extra fresh chilli if you want it. The flavour explosion is worth the messiness that's inevitable - try the lean chicken, it's something else!

Great lunchtime Banh Mi rolls. Fresh, crisp bread and delicious fillings. Consistently raising their prices while under filling the rolls and charging extra for additional coriander is very disappointing. If there was a better Banh Mi shop this side of the city, i'd not hesitate to switch; sadly there is not.

Great coffee, friendly staff, and fast service. The rolls are baked fresh on premise, and the staff are very efficient. Queues at lunch time usually go out the door, so better to come slightly earlier or later than standard lunch time. Also not too many seats inside, so it's more of a take-away cafe.

Great place for an office lunch. Keep your order simple ( bahn mi) and you wont be dissapointed. There is always a line at peak lunch times (between 1130 and 130) so if possible try and get here early. The iced jam doughnut here is one of the best in Melbourne.

N Lee Bakery Cafe is a ripper of a place to get delicious fresh Banh MI, the Buns are Baked fresh daily and have a beautifully crusty exterior and a lovely soft centre, all the ingredients used are absolutely top notch. I Highly Recommend N Lee Bakery Cafe.

Good spot to visit for a quick lunch. Don't worry if there is a line it does move fast. The Viet pork rolls are super tasty. Coffee is good too. I have been here a few times now when i'm in the city for lunch. Have even taken a few work colleagues here too.

Very disappointed with the stale bread received a few ming ago in banh mi. Looks like the bread is old and from fridge.. went in for lunch yest for the same banmi, it was very tasty and now for brekkie its stale. Dont open if u are going to serve old food.

  • Victoria Tibbitts

Good service and food is tasty. Food to go is the best option for those who like to linger ( 10 customers instore at a time) I found myself counting heads while I was eating ( my own fault, staff and other customers didn't give out any negative vibes)

  • Jane Dang

My go to for the authentic Vietnamese Banh Mi! Full of flavours, very tasty, using lots of fresh ingredients. Service is prompt and staff are nice. Price is decent as well. Highly recommended for a to go quick bite (breakfast & lunch)

  • Lok Mac

Excellent fresh tofu Vietnamese roll (Banh Mi) and nice soy coffee. It's a poorly kept secret though. The line is always out the door at lunch. Fast service keeps things moving though. Expect 10 minutes from queuing to eating.

  • Tara G

Though it says dine-in there was limited provision for dining at the cafe. Staff were not friendly and stand-offish when asked for plates and cutlery they seemed irritable. Not a good ambience and a disappointing experience.

  • Daphne Kechagias

N Lee makes the most delicious & freshest Banh Mi with crunchy rolls. You can also get very satisfying strong & smooth coffee here (skim milk is also available)..All with a kind & friendly smile from N Lee, the man himself.

  • Silas Palmer

Delicious offering and good quality at a reasonable price, only drawback is that the place is so popular that the queue to get in snakes around the block at busy times and nearly impossible to score a table to eat-in.

  • Johnny V

Just found this place today , FRESH FRESH FRESH is the only way to describe the rolls and pastries , also the coffee was sensational . The pricing I have to say was very reasonable , this place was beautiful 5 STARS .

  • Adam Blackmore

Pre COVID I was smashing 5 of these breaky rolls a week, 10/10. I think the ancient cast iron skillet is responsible for the great taste. I've since moved to regional Vic but still dream of these every other day.

  • CJ McKay

Hiding the amount charged from customers while illegally and secretly charging 30 cents for eftpos is so deliberately and knowingly scummy. The look on her face when I asked for the receipt was almost worth it.

  • Rajnil Kumar

Great roll. Had pork crackling roll yesterday and today. Yesterday it was really crackling, today it was more like pork belly and no crackling. I will definatley go back though coz the flavours were there.

  • IGuideU

$ Had a quick breakfast roll and coffee. Both reasonable, no frills, no nonsense Vietnamese bakery. Good for a quick bite on the go. Their Bahn Mi seems a favourite - may have to go back for a quick lunch.

  • Lewkas

Still the best banh mi out there in my opinion, even after all this time

The banh mi was really good, pie has great crust too. I love the tastes because it has a lot of spice Donut was just ok No wait on a weekday brunch They have a 10 bucks breakfast deal with drink too

  • Dan

Pretty good banh mi. But it can be hit or miss at times. Sometimes they are hot, other times they are cold. I’m guessing maybe it’s depending on the time of the day but the hot banh mi are a 5/5.

  • Mikael Lefebvre

Bahn mi that’s tastes like Vietnam. The food is fresh. Knocked off 1 star because it’s hard to get understood by the staff and there is no ambiance. It’s more of a take out place. Would go back.

  • Michael East

I've been coming back for 5 years. Incredible food and some of the best Vietnamese rolls I've had in Melbourne. Buns are freshly baked and still hot when you order at lunch. Friendly staff

  • Rahul Sankappa

  • Hyokyung Moon

Chicken schnitzel sandwich/bahn-mi is my favorite. It’s quite convenient as a lot of staff are there to attend and they get the food ready in a few minutes.

  • Michael

Very glad to see the bakery still kicking on after covid. Happy to provide 5 stars, but also please ignore my review as the line is already long some days!

  • Tori Yuksel

Great food but I was charged $6.10 for an iced coffee which was basically all ice. A little annoying paying the price of two coffees for a block of ice.
