@ocab_bakery Moonee Ponds ✔️ Banana Bread ✔️ Pistachio Croissant ✔️ Custard Tart Ocab Bakery is a small artisan bakery located in the heart of Moonee Ponds. It is owned and run by two passionate bakers, Hooman a Civil Engineer from Iran, and Tristan who grew up and learned from the best in France. They believe in slow food made with the freshest ingredients with no additives. They make, bake and sell everything freshly made daily in store. If you’re looking to dine in, there is only limited seating inside and out. The Chai latte was good! I had the Banana Bread toasted for dine in, which was a great choice. Loved the addition of nuts inside too. I couldn’t resist getting a few more things to try for takeaway. The Pistachio Croissant was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. The very top layer was crisp and flakey but the rest was on the chewy side. Same with the Custard Tart, the custard was lovely however the pastry was not crisp. However I did eat them a few hours later, it may be better to have them straight away. Loved the variety and will be back to try a few more things! ⭐️ 3.5/5

Simply put, Ocab make the finest Croissants in Melbourne! Not that it's a competition - but if there was one, Ocab would probably have to be disqualified for being too delicious! These guys truly are pastry specialists, expertly crafting sweet and savoury treats with such consistency and attention to detail they make LUNE look like a branch of Bakers Delight. And as if that wasn't enough, there's also a lovely feel and atmosphere about the place. The staff are efficient and friendly and the location is perfect. Just far enough off the main street for a peaceful escape. I'd recommend literally everything on the menu - but I have to say the Black Forest croissant is so so so ridiculously good. Go and treat yourself!

Customer service was awful if I could give it a 0 I would, very rude and almost hostile. Walked in coming to try for the first time and felt like I shouldn’t have walked in. Carelessly served me and also forgot about my food. I will never come back. Staff need to learn how to greet customers as it the single most basic aspect of customer service and not being greeted makes you feel like you don’t belong. I understand that we all have our days and the customer service probably isn’t always like this, but regardless, the first impression is always the most important.

Anything flaky, buttery and warm, find it all at Ocab! Solid almond croissant, with the perfect frangipane texture and sweetness - it would be the best if it had some extra depth or spice - looks come second. What sold me was the ham cheese croissant - thought it was just ham and cheese clamped together but the gooey creamy sauce with the ham was flavourful. Ham could do a little less time in the oven. Definitely will be back to try their variety of savoury pastries such as their pie and sausage roll! 4.25/5

From the minute, this place opened till this very day, I can’t keep myself away from these amazing pastries. I must say top tier, and I don’t think I’ve honestly had better at any other place in Melbourne. To top it off, all the team members are extremely friendly and pleasant people to be around, never a frown in sight If you’re not up from around the side of town, I would definitely recommend heading down to at least try some of the pastry, cakes and other yummy foods this place has to offer

Visited this cozy bakery few times and definitely love it! Worth every dollar you paid~ Portion is generous and admir the balanced flavor in savoury pastries. Tasty sweet pastry with all the freshly made filling. Also, I remember once the eggplant sandwich sold out and the other time was the black forest chocolatine flavour crossiant, but they are so so kind to make us fresh one. You would feel so much love in their artistic food! St.Ali coffee is another highlight too!

Now! I have to give a big shout to ocab bakery. Coffee is one of the best in town! This beautiful bakery is attended by the most happy people, with the award winner of the best sausage roll in town, just delicious! I can't wait to get there during my morning run.! Please do yourself a favour and go and try their delicious almond croissants. And lots of different delicacies! What I say is not good enough, you have to trust me on this one!

Really nice spot hidden in the Moonee ponds :) Nice atmosphere and lovely staff, wish you could modify your order as it was too much sauce for my liking in the focaccia, and more sour options apart of pies. Other wise I’m sure you gonna like it! Very nice to sit on the bar looking outside ( they do have sitting outside as well ) Nice coffee as well! Enjoy! ❤️

Absolutely love all the pastries here! Always fresh and consistent every time. I’m very picky with croissants and find that Ocab is up there with some of the best I’ve had, even better than some well known brands. The staff are also really friendly and a very cute cafe to sit in. The owners Houman and Tristan are always very welcoming and clearly very great at what they do. An absolute must visit!

Really wanted to like it but was disappointed with the sourdough I got. It was dense and didn’t rise enough imo. I wouldn’t be so disappointed if it wasn’t $11.50 for the loaf. It tasted fine after toasting but it was just way too dense for my liking. It might be how it’s meant to be. The bakery was really cute and staff were really nice though.

Always a pleasure to see the boys at Ocab bakery. As they have such delicious food with amazing service. I love going there and have a coffee and lunch because I always leave with a smile and feeling full. I highly recommend to anyone that enjoys good food and service. Thank you so much boys. The chocolate croissant is to die for

Staff were so hostile. No greeting when we walked in or when we ordered. Would not come back here due to the unfriendly vibes. The food was decent however the experience was very overshadowed by the poor customer service.

From Adelaide, came here for the weekend and stopped in for coffee and cake.. omg!!! The cakes looked beautiful and I wanted them all but ordered the Cinnamon scroll. It was absolutely delicious!!! Good customer service, the owner Tristan was friendly and nice. I definitely suggest to stop here if youre near puckle street.

Bonjour Ocab! This is a relatively new cafe on the Moonee Ponds landscape. It has a beautifully gentle ambience assisted by the smooth French tunes. Food is freshly baked and made on premises. Scrummy pastries and buns. Coffee is warming and robust! Staff are attentive and friendly. Give it a go!!!

  • Nic Beament

This a cute little bakery serving baked on premises and fresh pastries, bread and coffee. Filled rolls for lunch also. If if I must say, their croissant is damn close to lube and getting in there around 7.45 means they are very likely warm from the oven. The boys do a great job, 7 days a week too.

  • Simon Osborne

Awesome place! Best sausage rolls in town (in my opinion) - pork and fennel with the homemade chutney was delicious. The bread alone is worth the trip. Service was prompt and friendly given that the queue was out the door. 100% recommend.

We tried all their tarts and slices of cakes, very simple in looks but certainly tasted amazing and very traditional. I am impressed that they bake all their breads and do all the pastry in house. I m so glad that the owners had chosen our community to run their bakery.

  • Seyma Aydin

I've yet to have hazelnut chocolate croissants better than the ones at ocab! They're seriously pastry bests!! Their raspberry and almond tarts are so good you crave them, all the time, I recommend it whole heartedly and comfortably, you will thank me after!!

The pastries, especially the danish here, are excellent. The weekend fruit loaf is a weekly staple. Moonee Ponds has been waiting for a perfect bakery like this. I give 4 stars as the coffee is a bit hit and miss. Not nearly hot enough for us.

  • Kate Rose

This place is a bit of wow! The raspberry scrolls and the cinnamon scrolls are the sort of thing you’d drive from far away to try. The doughnuts are sublime - that really authentic, slightly crunchy on the outside texture. Love this place.

  • Farhana Ali-Abouloukme

Hands down the best pastries in Melbourne! So fresh, flakey and delicious!!! So hard to pick a favourite but we always keep coming back for the fry it danish! Everything about it is so good!! The staff at OCAB are all so lovely!

  • Lija Svalbe
