A uniquely wondeful destination for book lovers where you may also enjoy the fare in the popular small cafe at the entrance. The staff of the bookshop are extraordinary - are mostly book lovers, most helpful, so well read and with a friendly smile at all times. Reviews of the books are posted on the shelves too. We love their 'meet and hear the author' book signing events and wish we had time to join and participate in one of their book clubs. Riverbend is involved in many charitable and community programs too, supporting school libraries and initiating Australia wide indigenous reading. They select and supply appropriate free books to schools and libraries in remote, indigenous areas. Three generations now, of my family have really enjoyed spending time in and shopping at Riverbend...we absolutely love 'them'!!! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and all that you do.

Always amazing service. This gem was the first book store I found after moving from Melbourne in 2021 and I have now ordered more than 8 books through them. They are great with communication and sending out emails to let you know when your order has arrived. I love that the ladies in this store will always help if you are looking for a particular item. Best part about the store is the "Book of the Week" and I enjoy seeing the different suggestions. I would like to see more in the poetry section but I will continue to keep ordering for the poetry books I enjoy. There is a coffee store attached to the front of the store so it makes it very convenient to grab a hot drink and settle on into a good book.

A lovely bookstore with a well selected range of books you'll love to keep or gift to others. The cafe incorporated with the store is a sweet little spot with a small but beautifully prepared range of breakfast & lunch menu. We asked if we could add a babycinno and bowl of chips to our lunch order even though they weren't on our menu... And they kindly did. When the babycinno arrived, it was the prettiest babycinno we had ever seen. Our little girl was completed enchanted by it. I included a photo of it in my review so you can see why. To have gone to such measures for an item not on the menu gives you an indication as to why this is such a popular cafe ❤️

Riverbend is a Brisbane institution, that all book lovers should visit at least once!! They always have a wide selection of books and the staff are super helpful. I picked up the latest Wilbur Smith children's book. In the past I have attended here for book talks which are really well run. I would encourage you to sign up to their newsletter so you are aware of any upcoming events because they're always doing something interesting in their literary area. I drove all the way from the Gold Coast to take my daughter to the café to have the Bread and Butter Pudding for her breakfast!! Needless to say pregnancy does that. What a lovely surprise it was. I had the Petite Parisienne Breakfast which was a winner for me. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. It has a perfect atmosphere. I did not dare to browse extensively in the bookshop being a bookworm myself, but it looks like a winner with something for everyone. I really liked the selection of children's books.

Having arranged to collect a book ordered online, we found it not available when we called in for it: imagine our delight and surprise when just a day later, the RiverBend team contacted us to say the book had been located and was on its way to us. Yeah, ok. 4 stars is maybe a bit generous but considering they are having many books of Australian authors, that's a deserved 4 stars. Service was a bit tricky as there seemed to be one person at the front trying to help customers but also to operate the register, clearly being understaffed. But I do understand that they went through a bit of a rough patch, so hopefully this gets sorted.

Riverbend Books' customer service is so good that they helped me pick a book that my friend had already read and it was her favourite. I came back in store and was easily able to swap it for one she hadn't read. They were so friendly and it was a seamless transaction. They also did an excellent job gift wrapping the book for a gold coin donation.

The Riverbend Book Subscription service is just amazing. The staff pick the most brilliant books and I've yet to receive one I didn't love. Best part is they have all been books I would never think to pick myself so I have discovered so many new authors and stories. Highly recommended no matter where you are in Australia.

A lovely, premium bookstore with a cozy atmosphere. The bookstore itself has a well though out layout and is nice to browse. The variety of books here is very large and you can get just about anything in by asking one of the lovely staff at the counter. The cafe section is decent and has fair prices.

Absolutely lovely independent bookstore (and cafe). Staff are always super friendly and helpful, and they have a great range of books. There’s a ramp in, but unfortunately it’s too steep to use a wheelchair on safely. It can also be a very tight fit through the tables on the deck and around the shop.

Love, love, love the bookshop. This is one of the best independent bookshops around & every good independent bookshop needs support. But the cafe serves coffee that's OK not great & the service is usually slow & mediocre. It's still a great place to sit & enjoy a relaxing Sunday morning though.

This is my favourite book store in Brisbane. It has a very good selection of quality titles, is beautifully designed and laid out, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The shop is clearly a labour of love! And the nice cafe at the front is an added bonus!

A very popular local bookstore, but it does seem very modernist oriented, and on trend. Cafe was shut when we visited which was a pity as we had a voucher to use.
