Not recommended at all. Do not risk parking here at 320 Harris Street, Sydney. Very disappointing how this car park operator deliberately allows overbooking of spaces in this car park at 320 Harris Street, Sydney. It leaves people driving endlessly around a very tricky, elderly car park, engendering all but road-rage as people wait and hope that other drivers may leave. There is what amounts to a disclaimer on your booking confirmation, saying parking fees can be refunded if you do not find a space, but I guess it relies on some people not bothering to claim and so Secure Parking makes more out of trusting customers. No customer service whatsoever on a busy Saturday night, no one answering the intercom at the barrier, no one answering landline phones. Anything could have been happening, any sort of emergency, yet no one answers. The boom gate has a screen nearby to enter a PIN, for pre-booked parking spaces, but the screen displays an advertisement rather than a numerical keypad UNTIL YOU TOUCH IT, so very confusing for first time users. There is only one out of three lifts working at present - no stairs as an alternative, you can only use the elevators to move between floors if you are on foot. To have only one working means too many people sometimes try to get in as it is a slow lift and they don't want to wait any longer, especially if they are alone. However, this is not good practise for being COVID safe in these difficult times, and with no monitoring of the car park by humans it could also have its dangers. As mentioned, no help available as traffic backs up behind. It's not an easy car park to negotiate if you have anything other than a very small car. Many drivers had to reverse and do several manoeuvres in order to negotiate corners. The overbooking is the most frustrating thing imaginable if you are going to anything time sensitive like health appointments, performances etc. There are no indicators before you enter the car park whether there are spaces available, because there is no system to measure this. There are no coloured lights anywhere indicating spaces/lack of spaces, no displays to suggest a floor level that has a space. Very poor indeed, sharp practice at best.
DO NOT EVEN ENTER HERE, ALL AVAILABLE SPACES ARE RESERVED YOU WILL BE CHARGED JUST TO LOOK FOR NO VACANCIES UPON EXIT I wouldn't even rate this car park. We had trouble finding it in the first place as the entry point is down Allen St. Then navigating our way around the tight labyrinth-like levels we also discovered that all available parking to the public was full but none of the signage indicated this (not even lit up)and any vacant spaces (which was plenty) were actually RESERVED which was extremely frustrating. We drove all the way to the top to find we had to just find another parking station. Upon reaching the exit boom gate we inserted our ticket to find we were being charged $6 for the privilege of driving around looking for car spaces. So we pressed the help button 3 times when someone finally responded. The carpark attendant on the other end was rude and difficult to understand due to the fact the speaker unit was probably in need of an overdue update and coupled with his accent. We had to repeat several times that we were not paying just to drive around the car park for 10 mins that their signage wasn't lit up to indicate this. He tried to justify this with it being old, well perhaps you should update it so it works, we also asked for a manager a few times which he would only respond with that we needed to pay. It was only that we stated that there was others cars banking up behind us that he then decided he would just let us go("this time")...how generous of him. How many other people have they stung for the same scenario? Disgraceful....we found a Wilson Car Park only just down the road far better experience there.
Terrible car park, poorly lit and sign posted, dingy, tight turns, unsafe and cheats you of your money. Payment signage says no Apple/Samsung Pay on a tiny box that is not readable when you drive in (how are phone payments not accepted nowadays?). So I rang the intercom and no one answered, then called the emergency helpline and it was over a 30 min wait. I managed to find a physical card to pay with, the machine then sucked up the ticket and my card and didn’t process the payment or open the gate. So I was stuck in the carpark late at night with no one answering the phone and literally no way out. It was so unsafe, luckily I was with someone but I would have been even more worried at night, alone, in a poorly signposted carpark with no CCTV visible and no one answering the support line. Their outdated machine caused the issue and cost me $40 for the lost ticket fee when I tried another machine and eventually made it out. I sent a lengthy complaint via Facebook and email and they said they would pass it on for the Harris street to contact me, but I never heard anything. Still waiting for a response and my $40 back, unfortunately can’t get my time wasted back though.
NOT worth a star. Not familiar with Sydney, and I was arriving on a Saturday morning. I had booked a spot at Harbourside Car Park, and google maps gave me the impression I had arrived. I wasnt sure if I was in the right place, but I was right at the boom gate. I pressed the intercom, repeatedly. no answer. I rang the number listed. It said to send them an email. I drove in and it was ghastly, a horrible and creepy place. I found my way out- NO signage- to check the name and location out the front- and saw the Harbourside Car Park just further down the street. I found my way back- and was charged $7. Outrageous, for one of the most INSECURE experiences., Hire staff, and put internal signage in. The place is a death trap. If there was a fire, or a power failure,, you would be at grave risk. How this locale is permitted to operate is incomprehensible. I decided to ask for a refund as a result of my experience. When I rang, the operator couldn't find it on their system. I explained the entrance is in Allen St, between Expriment and Pyrmont St. Turns out on the ticket it says Harris St.
Disaster of a carpark. No clear signage, had to reverse on ground floor for 50m to be able to get up the ramp as all spaces on LG were reserved spots. Found a parking bay and it had a knocked over bollard that got caught under the front of my car and had to be fished out. Long walk to lifts with lights only coming on with motion activation. Felt very unsafe walking on my own. No emergency exit signs (is this illegal?) had to perform a hairpin on UG floor to turn to back track to go down exit ramp. Scraped side of car as hundreds have clearly done before me. 1 star is for the only redeeming factor - the online weekend parking price compared to the Star.
After their system “upgrade” the entry pin pads and QR code readers don’t work. Waited for 45 mins this morning with a line of cars trying to enter. Pressed button for assistance and waited another 15 mins and no one answers. Unmanned carpark as well so no one to help at all. Ended up taking a ticket and they better not charge me when trying to exit - I’ve already paid for early bird parking from their useless website as well. I would not recommend this place - if I had another option I’d be using that instead. Get your act together!! Don’t even bother trying to use their app either. Frustrating to say the least and never recognised your login.
I used to stop here more than 20 years back when my better half worked in the structure nearby (235 Promontory Rd). She had a saved parking spot for around 4 years. In any event, when she went on maternity leave, I kept on stopping there purchasing the prepaid vouchers for $5 for throughout the day stopping. In those days it was anything but difficult to explore and discover a spot however it was before they changed over the distribution center to units so a great deal could have changed in 20+ years. At the point when Village Roadshow had a Music 'arm' Savage Garden and Killing Heidi both shot music recordings in the vehicle leave.
Awful experience! Pre-booked online and arrived 1 minute after 3 hour booking starts. Started trying to navigate the car park and had great difficulty. Most of the parking spaces are reserved for business or particular cars. After 20 minutes looking for a spot, we called the company for assistance. The lady stayed on the phone as we drove around and said that we couldn't see any available spaces. After giving up, we saw a car leaving and we were finally parked 30 minutes after our booking started - running half an hour late for our appointment! Allocating a parking spot when booking would have made a world of difference.
Misleading Prices I parked for an hour during the night after seeing the hourly fees displayed at the entrance but was instead charged a more expensive "night flat rate fee". Even prices displayed on their website state that hourly fees apply during the night time. I tried contacting them multiple times after being overcharged and it took them two weeks to write up a complacent response. With the lack of signs and questionable parking lot design you may also find yourself performing multiple u-turns in tight spaces. Secure Parking is a poorly managed business but luckily there's another car park next door.
Pre booked and paid. Given a PIN to enter/exit. At entrance, no key pad or notice of how to key pin. So I get ticket. On returning I do some investigation. A second screen at the gate said something like, "have your details changed" . Turns out it is the touch screen to enter the pin. Go to exit "PIN NOT RECOGNIZED" Reverse back and park again. Go and pay the ticket and exit. Paid 3x initial quote. Not happy! A simple sign at the entrance, "Touch screen to enter PIN" Would solve all the problems.
Tried to use this carpark on Saturday night for vivid, drove in all signs were turned off absolutely no parking left at all. Drove to the top and all the way back down did not even step foot out of the car and I was charged $25 at the boom gate. I could've gone across to Darling Harbour to the Ferris wheel for $5 less. I think that deserves a refund, after all it's a "carpark" not a drive thru. Also no help available at the intercom. Had to give one star no option for no stars.
Was an affordable parking spot espeically if you book ahead online. Did feel like it was a bit out of the way however and required some walking to get to the popular areas of the city. Parking lot was pretty empty on my visit and lots of spaces to choose from. The entry and exit to parking looked a bit run down and wasn't welcoming. However, had no issues aside from a bit of a walk to and from parking.
My review is for the Platinum car wash in the parking structure. My poor car that had been through the wars came out looking as new after the deluxe interior detail. I received a note though asking me to bring the car back the next day. When I did, the attendant said that he wasn't happy with the exterior wash and wanted to do it again! That's 5-star service, right there. Great work!
Looks like a car park from a horror film. The lighting is dim making this carpark very dark. The walls are old and looks like it's falling apart. Parked my car here for dinner and came back at 10pm and just wanted to get out of there ASAP. The old design gives it an eerie spooky atmosphere. Getting brighter lights would dramatically improve this problem.
We used to park there every time we went to Darling Harbour, it used to be the cheapest spot but could be hard to fit cars into tight spots, you got what u paid for. Its now mid priced, so look for value in other parking spots. You have to prebook for cheaper price, but watch the extra booking fee. Last time we were there, there was no on site staff.
Think twice before entering! Poorly maintained car park - dim lighting, no signage, pay machines don't even work and you can't even contact intercom for assistance. Also, going back a couple of reviews (I.e. reviews dating back to a month to 2 years ago), it seems like the pay machines have been broken for a while, so clear neglect from management.
No eftpos available, only accepting credit cards, not even debit cards. The car park is unattended so was stuck until someone from the hotline finally picked up. Cars all backing out of the exit with similar problems. Totally chaotic. If the car park is unattended then leave the boom gate open and also make eftpos available.
Brilliant. Booked weeks ago for NYE and everything worked perfectly. Sat nav took us to correct entrance. Code worked. Plenty of space. Those bell ends who say it's tight probably drive huge and stupid SUVs and can't drive anyway....Thank you secure parking for helping make our NYEve so special and f..k the critics.
Dodgy!! Overcharged me $15 at exit. Had to wait 15 minutes at the gate for them to answer the phone (because they didn't answer the intercom) and then they tried to charge me the wrong price again. I'll bet they try this trick all the time and just hope people will be in too much of a rush and leave. Avoid.
Disgusting business ethics. Paid $15 for early bird parking but had to leave early. Was then charged a $24 fee for leaving early. I tried to find the fee before vacating the spot but its not clearly stated. Charged more than the original cost for freeing up a spot for them to re let. What thieves!!!!!!
I called Secure Parking 9 times on one day - no response. Left a message and filled in the online form. No response. I emailed the manager as my vehicle was moved by workmen without my consent. No response. DO NOT USE THIS PARKING STATION, the service is terrible. No one responds.
Poorly marked walk ways and awkward to navigate around. Worst part is the pricing $42 plus surcharge for a Sunday. I'll never visit this car park ever again. There are way better options in the area for way less. Darling quarter only charge $13 flat rate Sundays
Worst Carpark in Sydney, avoid at all cost. I have been forced to wait up to 30 mins to exit as the credit card payment machine kept saying unreadable ticket, NO one answered the service call button. Missed multiple appointments as I was locked in the Carpark.
Tight ramps, tight car spaces for larger cars and hard to read signage/ not clear for exit. Pricing was not horrible for friday-sunday but those cars in my group never left. Sat-sunday parking was high in comparison. Only used due to hotel
Yes the parking rates are quite good (when you use a discount code) after peak hours and there are ample spaces however that is it on the positives. Entering, exiting and especially driving between different levels is a real pain point
While the width of the spots were decent, the carpark design leaves a lot to be desired. Tight turning radius, mixed signage. Also beware the rates you see online, the drive-up rate is much higher and there's no weekend drive-up rate.
Worst parking experience ever. “Customer service” line is never answered and no assistance with issues. Have been using this parking for months and now is just getting ridiculous with issues everyday without fail
Terrible carpark, i have a small car so tight, so confusing to access and find a spot as every spot is reserved. Filthy rats and pigeons and not feeling safe for single female. Not worth the effort or cheapness
We pre-booked for flat rate parking on a weekend. Was very convenient for walking to the ICC (through the Wilson carpark) and is a cheaper alternative compared to the nearby Darling Harbour carparks.
Poor signage on warning drivers about central medians, I have seen senior citizens scraping their entire underbody while trying to make a u turn to exit. They need better security cameras too!
Disgraceful- car park was full, no sign at the front and over 50 customers forced to double park. Power hungry tosser threatens fines. Attitude is appalling. Ripe for disruptive alternative.
Not a bad parking lot, cheaper than others, you pretty much get what u pay for, just make sure you drive carefully when inside as it’s quite tight. Suggest to book online for cheaper rates.
The only plus s it's proximity to Darling Harbour. There are no road signs to direct to the place and I could not find the parking charges displayed anywhere. Kind of misleading.
I went there on a cold winter night and thought I entered some sort of horror movie scene..it looks like somewhere you just don't trust to leave your car there..
Overpriced - weekend rates the same as a weekdays. The path to the harbour closed... There are plenty of better / cheaper spots available in the neighbourhood
I parked here as my hotels recommendation for offsite parking. I had a discount voucher that saved me $30. Close to darling harbour and local swimming pool
Prebooked online and no available spaces. Almost every space is reserved but they'll charge you anyway. Narrow roads, tight turns. Avoid like the plague.
Most confusing car park I have ever used. Seems like they didn't have much to work with when it was set up. At least they accept the secure parking card.
The signs claimed $45 per day parking which is bad enough, however when I left less than 24 hours later I was charged $78. Total rip-off.
Sat for over 30 mins waiting to get out because boom didn't work-no assistance!! And then charged extra because ticket had expired!!!
Good, secure parking. Needs better signage once inside the facility. Hard to work out where you’re able to park, and how to leave!
Very expensive. Such a bad design that it cost $18 after paying the fee to getting to the exit. Don't use this car park.
Cheap price comparing to nearby carpark, but a bit too old and some turning area a bit too narrow and not line clear
Easy parking over night but some car spaces are a bit tight and in some parts the ceiling is a bit low. Rates are ok
Easy shoert walk to ICC and Aware theatre. Pay online prior to event and parking was so affordable
Rip off, terrible service and unforgiving and charge ruthlessly if late will not use again!
Reasonably priced for weekend parking near Darling Harbour, poor signage to access walkways
Cheapest weekday parking I've been able to find that's within walking distance of the CBD.
Easy to reserve. Best parking spot in the city and cheapest for weekends and after hours
Stinky car park. Entry is confusing as it isn't on Harris street but is on Allen street.
Old but good parking station if you work on Harris Street fees are reasonable
The capital is reasonably close to darling harbour, though poorly designed
Got stuck because their pay machine were broken and didn't take paywave
Advertised flat rate on weekends, in reality charges hourly. Terrible.
Book online to save money. Convenient for Darling Harbour and the city
I park here everyday and it is THE WORST car park I’ve ever been to.
Book a parking spot and the pin doesnt even work there. No help
My secret parking gem in the city. Always book online.
Good location, beware entry is in a side street!
The best parking for access to darling harbour
Wilson is the best but secure is nice as well
Avoid this place, no signage and expensive!
Expensive and tight like a high end escort
One of the best places to park in Sydney
Terrible customer service, and expensive
service terrible, tight parking spots
Gate not working for online bookings
Terible place for night parking.
