Stock is just okay, store is clean. My reason for giving them 2 stars is that there was a lot of makeup out of stock compared to other shoppers. But my biggest reason is the way they treat you. If you don’t look rich or are dressed to the nines, they treat you like a criminal. I just worked construction 8 hours outdoors, and stopped on the way home looking as I did. As being someone who used to work in a retail store that got hit 1-6 times a day, there really is a better way to go about it. The staff is unfriendly, they’re so blatantly obviously watching you like a hawk. Keep saying “Hi” in a very unfriendly way. At least pretend to be friendly or like you’re trying to help. Anyways I go to the till to purchase my items and no one is there, so I had to use self checkout which I did not feel comfortable doing after being seen as “sketchy”. Anyways, I probably will go to one of the other two downtown from now on. Stop being so obvious and pretending to face things while looking over your shoulder or say hi in an unfriendly tone. Best way to go about it is to be friendly, ask me if I need help and help me so I’m not wandering around the aisles being accused or judged. Blonde lady was barely working, being lazy. Security guard just made me uncomfortable. I know I’m not the only one who gets this type of “customer service”, I’ve also seen someone get profiled at this located due to their race (this was pre-covid, but still ridiculous). I used to stop more thefts at my store by being nice and helpful, rather than being rude and profiling people.
Josh had some BIG shoes to fill as Maria's successor, and I had my doubts; however, he has succeeded and then some. He must wear a size 14 shoe! He kicks butt with his pharmacy footwear! The patient care and service has been exceptional upon his ownership. Joshua dedicates himself to providing the best service. Absolutely no negative side effects and nothing by positive symptoms when you seek care from his pharmacy and staff. I've been a patient here for years and I cannot refrain from mentioning the continuous care I have received from Mahmoud & Haroon. Over the years, they have assisted me with Rx research, doing deep dives and additional homework on my behalf before I sought my physician: They are experts in their field and don't hesitate to share their knowledge to equip and empower - Their counsel and insight is bar none - They always go the extra mile. Abie too, is becoming a strong contender as a pharmacist who takes pride in her profession and following in Mahmoud and Haroon's footsteps. Of course, the support, care and genuine service of Helen, Trishea, and Sara cannot be underestimated. They have been the first and last line of defence in offering patient care and satisfaction. They set the tone, mood and atmosphere from beginning to end. As busy and as in-demand that this team is, they always prescribe the best care, efficiency and efficacy with a dose of empathy and joy. You leave feeling better before you even take your prescribed medication. Thank you, Paul
If I could give zero stars I would. This pharmacy department was very uncaring in its service delivery to me. Let me begin by saying that I don't usually review places, but after the"service" I received at this Shopper's Drug mart, I had to. I dropped off a prescription to be filled on the 14th of July. The pharmacist told me that the medication was to be done at a compounding pharmacy and would be ready in a "few days" i.e - pending a quote. Almost three weeks later I waited and no one called me! I called back on August 1st only to be told that "someone might have missed it" and that's why they didn't call. They then told me that they would call me back two days later. They did call back, this time only to tell me that they got a quote ; only that they still had to call the insurance to see if I had coverage- three weeks into this process. Where is the care? With this type of low -quality service and given the fact that it was medicine being delivered with such uncaring, unprofessional service, I will not be shopping or recommending this to store to anyone. Thankfully there are other pharmacies nearby.
I came here for a return of YSL lipsticks because we brought them on shoppers website but they are made on 2019. It’s been three years, I don’t want it. On Thursday one of them said they don’t carry this brand, then I went back and call the customer service. They said they should return it for me. Since I earned the bonus points through these lipsticks and I don’t want to loss them, the customer service said I can get refund without the receipt, just show the confirmation. The manager however, was yelling at me saying I need to give the receipt. I was explaining how the customer service said to me nicely , the manager YELLED to me AGAIN and said go to another shoppers and went back to her office. These all happened under camera, I was being so nice because I know the manager doesn’t know what the customer service told me so I was explaining it and try to make her understand I don’t want to loss the bonus points. Worse experience ever.
The most unpleasant experience I've ever had with a pharmacy team. I came in requesting an appointment for antigen COVID test. They said they did not have any take home kits available. I explained again that I was not asking for a take home kit but to book an appointment. The pharmacy team told me that if I wasn't showing symptoms and I was vaccinated then "there was no point in even booking it." I ask them to clarify if I had to be symptomatic to get the test. This is when communication completely broke down. They stated that "because you are showing symptoms we won't test you." I tried to clarify that I was not symptomatic and I was asking what qualifications were necessary to actually book the appointment. Their response was "we don't care if you don't leave we're calling security." After that level of miscommunication and negativity I would not trust these people with a food order let alone any medications or prescriptions.
I was there a few days ago. The online Shopper Drug Mart store showed that price to be different than what it was at store. I spoke to the cashier about the price and the cashier said the assistant manager could help me with that. The assistant manager was so rude. The assistant manager treated me like I should be sorry for asking the question. The assistant manager would not look on the Shopper Drug Mart online store. What I experienced was horrible customer service. The way the assistant manager treated me was as if I needed to apologize for something that I never even did. I told the cashier how the assistant manager treated and the cashier was apologizing for the assistant manager's behavior and stated that is they way the assistant manager is. The assistant manager's behavior was unacceptable and rude. There is a Rexall down the street that offers way better customer service and their prices are more reasonable.
Loblaws owns the company, and issues out gift cards. Brought one of those gift cards and tried to use it here. They have refused to honor the gift card and have told me to contact Loblaws after I asked the manager of this store today why they wont accept it. The manager has stated that they don't know why because they [personally] didn't make it. That's misrepresentation, theft, and just plain lazy on top of it. Thought I'd let ya'll know. Buyer beware, the gift card scams are back and Loblaws is involved again.
I shop here multiple times a week - the location is just SO convenient. The staff is always incredibly friendly and they keep the lines at the cash register moving quickly! The hours on the weekend are not the greatest, though - they could stand to stay open a little later, especially on Saturdays. A particular highlight of this location is the pharmacy! The pharmacists are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and are happy to answer as many questions as you can think of.
Why do I always get followed by security? This is so unfair! I just wanted some milk and yeast for my baking today and this security guy keeps following me around. My brother hardly shops there anymore due to same reason and he warned me long before I moved into the neighborhood. My apartment and workplace is just about 5 minutes away from the shop so yes super convenient but WHY is shopping there such awful experience Is it because we are black or what
What's the point in having the store and the flyer if the shelves are consistently empty, or the store iust doesn't carry an item. If you're gonna advertise the product in your flyer, have it in the store, too. There's been times I've had to walk 13 blocks to the next closest shoppers to my house just to get a product advertised in a flyer but the store employee tells me they don't carry it. If you don't carry it, don't put it in your flyer. Simple as that.
I was being followed around by security..I then asked them what was wrong or happening? he then tells me if I have money I shouldn't be concerned. ..um lol ..are u kidding me? this security guard should be fired then replaced .and the manager should be contacted. Followed me from the hair isle to the food isle then back until I asked what the matter was .. maybe your security guard should start asking everyone if they have money to come into the store ?
If incompetence was rewarded, Shoppers Drug Mart trophy cases would be filled, unlike their store shelves. A loyal 15 yr customer should never be told to phone around town to fill their order, nor should they have to hear claims that Shoppers associates knowingly can't deliver on. I'm pleased my clients wouldn't allow my company to be dismissive and indifferent with them, while I averaged healthy 22% profit margins off their backs. .
The WORST location and customer service by far! Their pharmacy team is rude, not very helpful, and they ignore you. Never mind their discriminative "security" team. Followed me around the entire store WATCHED me place ALL my items in the basket then followed me to the pharmacy WATCHED me PAY for ALL my items. Only to be searched before leaving!?! Are u serious!?! WHY would I steal if I just spent $150??? Its sad. And offensive.
I purchased 3x $50 gift cards at this location in April. Despite purchasing these cards and having confirmation codes, when attempted to be used, were found to have $0 balance! I have emailed Shopper’s drug mart regarding this issue, and have been waiting 3 weeks for any action to be taken. Do not buy gift cards at this location. Seems they have scammed me, and now the company is not helping to fix this issue.
I've been going to this location for a couple years and the staff has always been helpful. However, the new security is awful. He followed me and stared at me the entire time I was getting my eggs, milk and cereal. My transaction was simple and quick, yet I felt like I was being stalked for some crime. Really disappointed. I'd rather walk the distance to Save On than be made to feel so uncomfortable.
Wish shoppers would stop profiting off of horrific animal cruelty from the products they carry that still test on animals to the bare minimum selection of plant-based vegan options at their stores. Why are you still selling eggs from hens confined in cages? Hens suffer immensely and can't even spread their wings. Please keep your promise to go cage-free by 2025. #CageFreeLoblaws
As a consumer, inhumane treatment of the animals used in food production, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Why are you still selling eggs from hens confined in cages? Hens suffer immensely and are so tightly crammed into too small, filthy wire cages they can't even spread their wings or move about. Please keep your promise to go cage-free (cruelty-free) by 2025. #CageFreeLoblaws
Makeup department workers are the worst in the city. I stood In the skin care aisle for ten min while TWO female employees just chatted at the till. I never found what I needed. I did come to the till to buy something small, and NIETHER of then stopped there convo through the whole transaction. There two makeup aisles, and two people working. Pathetic, ladies
I went in here for the first time yesterday and it is really nice. Shelves fully stocked, displays are very very pleasing to the eye and the atmosphere is really pleasant. Lots of staff at the checkouts and it was busy. Fully plan on frequenting this beautiful store often. Well done Shoppers! This location DOES NOT have a post office.
Staff are generally kinda rude usually actually Tried to sell me close to expiry on an important med I was not impressed and asked to get a different t one ordered I find them snotty most of the time and will be going to a different place for my expe sive meds on a regular basis
Been coming to this shoppers since I moved back to Edmonton (2018). The pharmacy staff are super friendly and very attentive. They know me by name, and always ask me how I am doing, and if my numbers are good (diabetic). Top notch. They truly care.
Doesn't care about the health or well-being of its customers - still selling products from caged hens and exposing everyone to unnecessary risks. I will not be buying anything from Shoppers until they get their priorities straight.

2 days to have a simple.prescription filled. Wouldn't send prescription over to other pharmacy wanted me to call the other pharmacy then have them call them.
As part of @loblawco Group, @shoppersdrugmart promised to stop selling eggs from hens confined in cages. When will you stop this cruelty? #CageFreeLoblaws
Would not shop here. Too many of their products support animal cruelty. Including but not limited to the use of eggs from caged hens. UGH!!

I'm disappointed that Loblaw and Shoppers Drug Mart continue to sell eggs from hens confined in cages.
I am not happy that you still sell eggs from hens in cage. Go cage free
Very helpful staff member over the phone, funny too
