My wife and I visited the Sydney showroom to view the Kartell Kabuki floor lamp, which we fell in love with online. We entered the showroom shortly after opening and were greeted and acknowledged by a number of the team while we wandered the floor, which was great. We initially both felt really good exploring the Sydney showroom. My sincere disappointment relates to the way we were spoken to by one of the senior design consultants when I asked if we could choose the colour temperature of the LED lamps in the Kabuki floor lamp. I have never felt so insignificant as a customer when she explained that the fixture didn’t include the lamp and used the analogy that you wouldn’t expect to order a toilet roll holder and have it come with a toilet roll. Her tone was so totally condescending and was supported by the other consultants who seemed to laugh at me when I asked what I believed was a reasonable question. Research with another importer confirms that the fixture actually comes complete with an integral LED lamp. Space Furniture, reading some of the other online reviews it’s clear that you should rethink your ways of working and retrain your team to adopt a more customer first culture. I will not return to your Sydney store.
Our experience with Space has been awful. We ordered a table and bench seat back in 2019. When it arrived in December 2020 the table was damaged. They had to send it back and reorder a new one, it was due to arrive in 2021 from Italy. The table and bench seat was finally delivered in November 2021, however the bar on the back of the bench seat was missing. When we called them they advised the seat had been discontinued and unfortunately they couldn’t supply one - the seat has two large holes in the timber so we couldn’t get away without having it. We went back and forth for months and eventually they advised us they would have one made. We are yet to receive it 7 months later! We understand everyone is having challenges with receiving items from overseas, however the customer shouldn’t have to keep ringing and emailing without any response. Space Furniture know how to charge, but don’t know how to give theirs customers a good experience.
If they customer service is an indication of how they do business, absolutely appalling. We will now be sourcing items direct from Europe, worth the cost, import duty et cetera, as they are behind clueless. We've tried for nearly a year, enquiring on their website about several items, and do you think they've had the courtesy to respond? Nope. And this started pre COVID nonsense, so obviously their contact form on their site is just for show. Will not be doing business with them, and would advise others to go elsewhere. Even with import duty and shipping, you can find the exact same products cheaper elsewhere the US, Asia or EU. Just because they are the only ones in Australia to carry certain brands, they think that the customer needs them; sorry it's the other way around. They need the customer. Can I my hope that this COVID business has impacted their sales, and perhaps a more competent business can take it's place.
Matthew in Sales looks after us very well when we visited the showroom or emails. We have several pieces from this place and will continue getting more. A lot of people think their furnitures are overpriced but it’s actually not. If you add the exchange rate variance + shipping + import tax + delivery (silver service), their price is the same as you buy directly from Italy. You can choose to go through all these processes and hassles or leave it to Space Furniture. We also love visiting their showroom for new ideas.
We bought some outdoor dining chairs from here. Quality turned out to be poor with significant wear and rust from only light use (stored covered). They also weren’t the ones we expected with subtle design differences from the ones shown online. We only discovered this later. Finally they don’t publish critical reviews on their website, which isn’t a good indicator of transparency
I do love Space Furniture. They take themselves so seriously, it's fun to be silly in the store and break the museum like hush that pervades the place. I do wish the staff found the humans in the store more important than their computer screens!
Reasonable range of high end designer furniture and accessories. Experienced mainly good customer service but some of the younger personnel could do a lot better considering the fact that they serve the premium end of the market.
Very unresponsive. Emails, chat multiple times to no avail. Gave up and had to source from OS at a considerable cost as Space are the sole distributor within Aus. I guess that’s why they can afford to have such bad service.
Overpriced, smug staff and deluded. Went there a few days ago and asked a lady at reception if they had console table and mirror sets {See picture below} and she had no idea what i was talking about :P
We have been looking for sofa for long, and finally found the suitable ones in Sapce. Kitty has made the process smooth and got everything settled before Christmas, big thank you!
This place is heavenly! The designs are amazing....and so is the staff :) thanks Elizabeth
