"Super disappointed"
"Purchased the fruit loaf even though I thought its a little too pricey at $9"
They have the friendliest staff, so accommodating despite it’s a rush hour for lunch. Came here at 1230 and there’s already a queue. The tables were packed too, good thing I was able to secure one table to eat in. Been craving for Cinammon Roll for a while now, I haven’t seen it at other cafes, I was quite lucky today coz they have it. They have an array of sweet and savoury treats and I’m confused what more to order. Well, I’ll be back for more soon though. I love their Cinnamon Scroll. Not too sweet and lotsa cinnamon which I love. Amazing place!
The food/coffee is mostly delicious the pastries are YUM!! However every single time I go in there is no organisation with the staff. No smiles, no welcomes! They seem very un interested in being there. And multiple times my food has been burnt while being heated up, then asked if this is ok? Surely you should know it’s not ok, don’t put the customer in the uncomfortable position of telling you no it’s not. I keep going back because it has all the things that could make it an amazing spot but the staff out the front really let it down!
What has happened to one of my favourite places? First of all pastry was stale, secondly used to have a dog bowl with water I asked she said " no we don't fo that anymore" then I asked for dine in and I get served a disposable cup . I just enjoy a normal cup when I'm dining in so I asked if she could just pour it in a normal cup. Well I received an eye roll as if I had asked her to pick the coffee beans from scratch. My coffee is cold and I don't dare ask for some hot water. Is this new management? Poor form
Super disappointed. I’ve been here in the past and always recommend the chocolate almond croissant to everyone . Today I went back and there was barely any filling in the choc almond croissant . Just dry and flaky and not whatsoever like it used to be . I also got a salmon bagel and it had a single slice of smoked salmon in it with literal 4 capers arranged carefully in the middle peeking out from the bagel hole giving the illusion of a full bagel . It was sad and 90% bread .
Purchased the fruit loaf even though I thought its a little too pricey at $9.40. I must say even though the texture was nice, we were a little disappointed at the lack of fruit especially for the price. When we cut the loaf, there was only fruit around the edges and nothing in the middle. I dont think I would buy again. Sorry Too Good. The filled doughnuts are another story. They are large and filled to the brim with yummy filling. Good job. A great addition to Aberfeldie
I got some takeaway for lunch. A piece of Margarita pizza, a Prosciutto roll, a red velvet cupcake, and an iced matcha. All really good. My only complaint is that the cupcake was given to me in a paper bag and by the time I got to it, all the icing had come off in the bag and it was squashed. Also the guy who served me told me the matcha wasn't sweetened but it most certainly is. But small gripes. Good food. I'll be back.
The owner illegally underpays all staff, and abuses staff members, whilst charging customers at exorbitant prices, disgusting! The owner has fired workers for questioning their pay, and pockets all of the tips for themselves, when the other staff members are the ones who create the lovely atmosphere of the bakery. It is sad to see such a nice bakery be led by disgusting management. Support a better local bakery instead!
I did my daily coffee run here while I stayed in Essendon... great coffee!! I avoided the vast array of pastries, pies, tarts and cakes ... not for any other reason apart from I wouldn't have been able to stop!! I did manage to bring 2 x loaves of their sourdough bread back here to Sydney!! Staff are lovely and friendly!! Thank you for a pleasant coffee run experience
Oh....my.....goodness. I've just discovered this gem and my life has just changed. I'm a pie fanatic and I've just had what is equal to, or better than any I've had before. Seriously, no matter where you are, they are worth the trip. Car, bus, run, walk, swim.....no matter which way you get there, JUST GET THERE. I'll now be a regular and can't wait to try all others goodies on offer
I always come here to pick up desserts to take with me to different gatherings and everyone goes crazy for the almond croissants - myself included! I was too young to remember when I went to France, but some of my friends and family that have been say that this is by far the closest to what you’re going to get abroad. Keep doing what you’re doing, keep being Too Good!
Well well, I’ve just found the most amazing patisserie bakery on my way home from work in the Essendon area. The custard pastry are absolute divine , yummy wholesome pies and beautiful rolls and baguettes. The staff are super friendly and really make me feel welcome. Excellent coffee and atmosphere. Regards Paul

Food is great usually friendly but today it all came undone by the male Barista. ordered a hot chocolate questioned the weight of the hot chocolate he said yes it was frothy. l don't purchase a chocolate for the froth. Asked it to be filled he put more milk but still light on. Really disappointing. Food great just see who is making the coffees before you order.
Good place for all the baked goods, love the pies!!, but asked for Skinny Cap and it was beyond hot, it almost burnt my hand hold in the coffee cup, it's been 15mins still scared to take a sip.

Nothing beats a local bakery and on our way through to a local park, we thought we'd stop off for some takeaway lunch. The kids absolutely inhaled their pizzas, and my wife's chicken schnitzel burger was amazing, and my roasted veggie foccacia was amazing. Would happily stop by here again when I'm in the area.
This place sure looks the part with an impressive cabinet, good variety and lots of customers. We got a filled salami roll, jalapeño beef pie, blueberry danish and a cinnamon donut. First time visiting and perhaps it was just what we chose but nothing stood out as exceptional but was all fine.
I love this bakery. I’ve been since it first opened and am totally sold! It’s so nice to have this open in the area... just what we needed. The lovely staff make me feel welcome every time I come by. A great way to start the day. Also... try the almond croissant... it will change your life ;)
First time here and they did not disappoint. Beautiful pastries and good coffee. We tried the almond and chocolate croissant, salted caramel muffin/doughnut and Nutella doughnut. They were amazing. Other savory options available too such as pies/sausage rolls, pizzas, foccacias etc. …
They burnt our croissants and got our coffee order wrong. Granted they were busy so must be doing something right - but a good business needs to deliver a consistent product and they've dropped the ball here. Parisian Baker is the way to go for a good coffee and pastry in Essendon.
The most amazing and delicious sourdough loaves. Amazing flavour and texture. Got to get in quick though! Best jam doughnuts in Melbourne, always fresh and fluffy with a generous helping of jam. Staff friendly and helpful. Do yourself a favour, beautiful quality products.
Have a coffee and buy my sourdough bread here regularly, the kids love the donuts - especially the one with the custard filling... as its not too sweet. Ive had an almond croissant just out of the oven! Amazing!! Do yourself a favour and get there ASAP! Closed Tuesday’s.
The simple takeaway Mediterranean pizza was full of quality cheese and ingredients. It was more tasty than a fresh wood fried from the city. The base crispy and thin, the sauce was great. Your quiche was amazing and the cheesecake was to die for. Will be back for more.
There is a really good selection here to satisfy your sweet tooth, from cinnamon donuts to filled cruffins and Greek bougatsa (like a custard pie). I've sampled a few and am certainly going back to taste some more. 'Too Good Bakers' is a very apt name and worth a look.
Lovely bakery with a few seats to enjoy their really amazing fare - great looking sweets, and the lunch we had was top notch. Highly rate their pasties and toasted sandwiches. Coffee passed muster.

Food is good although the meat sandwiches are placed at head height next to the counter and pie warmer with no covering whatsoever, staff were very rude when I requested a sandwich from the bottom if the pile. I won't be going back
Food very very good. Service, slow, sullen and the atmosphere is negative. I want to support but the staff have to realise creating a positive customer experience is more than the food. Happy to discuss my experiences in person.
Dropped in for the first time today during peak and was very pleased with the service. The girls looking after me were efficient and friendly. Great coffee and most delicious Almond Croissant. Will definitely be back.
As others have said, the food looks and tastes great. The main issue is the service, most of the staff are completely disinterested in customer service, and making a purchase feels like talking to a sullen teenager.
We drop by every weekend now. I highly recommend this little bakery. They have outstanding pies (I'm a hound for a quality pie) and I've never been disappointed by their refined selection of baked goods. Cheers!
Great food and treats. The coffee is good and we loved the almond croissant. It would have been a 5 star review but wish the staff was friendlier and served with a smile instead of why are they here expression.
This food is amazing however the vibe and service from the staff requires some urgent attention .A simple smile would be appreciated rather than feeling like you’re imposing upon entering the establishment.
Get in early to avoid missing out. Premium deli style sandwiches - salami is my go to. Mushroom and halloumi quiche is delicious and all of the cakes/desserts are lovely. Parking can be difficult at times
Amazing selection of food, both savoury and sweet. I feel like I've tried every single item offered. Consistent and delicious, highly recommended!

Ordered coffee, chai latte, cruffin and sourdough. Everything.... Was.... Amazing. I will be back shortly to try the other cruffin flavour... For research purposes. Glad to live close to this gem.
I think this is a sister shop to the Village Bakery in Brunswick and they do not dissapoint!! Quiche was great as were the croissants, coffees, croughnuts and all of the cakes I bought …
An AMAZING selection of sweet and savoury baked goods. One of my regular go toos. Very high quality products, a touch on the higher side price but definitely worth it due to the high quality
Great bakery in the heart of Essendon. Good quality fresh products and they look awesome as well!… this is European style! Great idea for a weekend treat. Friendly staff, reasonable prices.
Very amazing pastries - I got sliced sourdough loaf (what a great taste!) With Portuguese tarts and amazing burnt basque cheesecake! Very yummy! Prices are high but I think it's worth it!
Excellent bakery who make all their breads, cakes & sweets on location. Brought some small desserts to take home and everything was top quality. If your in the area, highly recommended.
This bakery is a slice of heaven. Great neighborhood bakery. Excellent selection of donuts, pastries and cupcakes. If you love sweet treats, you need to visit. Highly recommend :)
Don’t bother tipping the front staff, the manager pockets all of it. Hard to justify selling food for that much money if you won’t pay your staff their due. Won’t be returning.
This is a fantastic addition to the Essendon area. A modern bakery with that family feeling service. We got a mixture of savoury and sweet pastries + a coffee. All delicious!
Well stocked bakery with plenty of options and breads. Friendly staff. The two sausage rolls were a good size, tasty but a little dry. The large cookie was solid and filing.
I shared the spicy salami roll and the prosciutto roll. Plus a croissant with coffee, so good. I think they add a touch of sugar to the croissants. 100% highly recommended!
Bit on the pricey side, but good quality. Shame they used pickled onions relish rather than sauerkraut in their Ruben sandwich but other than that, really good.
Lovely pastries and sweet treats, fabulous coffee and no extra charge for almond milk and extra shot, in heaven!! Front of house staff are the sweetest ladies
Probably the best iced latte I've had! It's a diffcult order and they did it perfectly. Also the most amazing range of breads, pasteries, sweets and rolls!
My favourite Cafe/Bakery in the essendon area. A must try if you're in the area just for the pastrys alone. Great Coffee and service to boot. 5 Stars
Best salmon bagel I've ever had. Only negative I went back with hubby and by 11am most bagels and savoury food was either sold out or very limited.
The customer service was notably poor, the staff appeared indifferent to customer needs, and there was a lack of attentiveness throughout my visit.
Wonderful service coffee and food. This is a great place for getting boxes of delicious pastries as gifts. Thank you so much Too Good Baker team
One of the best bakeries in Melbourne. Exceptional quality cakes and savory treats. Never miss. Family fav are the donuts available on weekends
Incredibly pastries and some of the best coffee I have had in Melbourne! Will definitely be coming back here whenever I get the chance!
A large and fresh selection of baked goods. Their paninis are pricey, so not very cost effective, but they do taste delicious!
Great bakery, pastries are fresh and absolutely delicious! And fantastic service too, will definitely be going back soon
The best jam donut I've had in years. I was expecting a small amount of jam and was very very pleasantly surprised.
Great coffee and grab yourself a prosciutto baguette before heading down to the maribyrnong River for a picnic!
Best baker in the area!!! We buy our bread weekly from here and it’s always 100% spot on Great pastries too
Great new bakery/cafe in Aberfeldie/Essendon. Great coffee. Food is delicious. Very nice interior too.
Great coffee, pies and sandwiches and bread. Amazing selection of cakes and pastries to choose from.
Really good and fresh items. They are newish in the area. Definately can do better with coffee.
they made the bread fresh and the pie tasted REALLY good. do want to come here more often
Very rude and you need a bank loan to buy a pie bread and coffee very $$$ won't be back
Wonderful bread, fab sandwiches, beautiful desserts and excellent coffee. …
Should be renamed The TOO BEST BAKERS. It’s an amazing place for food and coffees.
Coffee is great, food looks awesome. The girls could try to smile a bit more.
Excellent quality products.Their coffee scrolls are a bargain and delicious!
