Still our favourite Bakery and now that Fi and Mario have expanded their premises, have made it even better. Great variety of pies, pasties, sausage rolls and savoury pastries, wide selection of breads and cakes as well as takeaway coffees, cold drinks, sandwich bar and even ice creams. A great place so stop to grab a bite before heading up or down Mt Dandenong via Mountain Hwy for car travellers, cyclists and pedestrians alike. Situated in a fantastic little local shopping strip right opposite The Basin Triangle Open Space, ideal for a leg stretch, kids play or just a nice sit down with great Basin Bakery food.

The Basin Bakery is one of the most amazing bakeries I have been to for a long time. Service was amazing and they make a mean coffee, plus they have gelato for the summer months and all the baked goods you can think of. I especially love their discount table which always has some really good buys on there ranging from bread to doughnuts and other things. Definitely worth a pop into for a great bargain and friendly service

Came in for a couple of pies a sausage roll and little cakes. The service was like the pies, dry! The lady next to me was offered a small box for her order I was offered 1 bag I took 2 to keep pies separate from the cakes. After she flung them to me over the counter I packed my own bags cos this girl was taking forever. The Nutella slice was very bland all I could taste were the nuts on top, where is the chocolate people I can't Taste IT...!!! The only reason I gave two stars is because the sausage roll was really nice. Don't worry I won't be back so you won't get another chance to impress me.

Really wanted to love this place. Staff were lovely and the prices were great, as portions were generous. Unfortunately it fell short. Pies were luke warm and it was just on lunch time. Scallop pie was a tad salty, but had some really nice scallops in it. Hubby said chunky pie was average. Pasty had lovely pastry, but filling was a little mushy for my taste. Mars slice was huge and a good one for sharing as it was quite rich. The real kill joy though was the mocha ring. Both hubby and I found that it had a funky taste, almost like vomit.

I popped in here today to get some lunch for the troops and found so much more. Obviously everything was delicious, from cakes, donuts, pastries, to the bread rolls. The standout, as is often the case, was the people. The staff were friendly, funny, and memorable. Even the other patrons were a delight; comfortable enough to chat and joke with their fellow bakery-goers as they waited patiently for their delectable treats to be served up. Is it weird that I had fun?

Each week I visit the bakery with my four students with special needs. The staff have been so accommodating and friendly in going beyond the call in helping us. Besides the students purchasing a food item, I have been very happy with the purchases I bought. Thank you to the staff for making my students feel extra special with the kindness given to them. We look forward to our weekly visits.

Coffee was really good for a bakery. Coffee scroll was nice. Tried a mudcake roll and a truffle ball, geez they were amazing. I'm trying to write this without my sister in law reading this as she will be upset, but the caramel slice was serious business, I've never had one as nice as this! Awesome products here, this hidden gem really is a place you should definitely make the trip to!

Love stopping here for an after-school treat or for lunchorder Friday's as our school doesn't do lunchorders. But just recently we got some quiches like we do weekly but the I think the recipe has changed as they never used to have onion and now do, it would have been nice to know before buying I ended up wasting 6 mini quiches.

One of the best local bakeries throughout Melbourne, and deserves to be even more famous than it is. Amazing bread varieties and regular loaves, fantastic treats, a kids' heaven of favourite sweet and savoury baked goods, all served by friendly staff offering great service.

Such a huge selection of Cakes and Pastries, not a normal cake shop, but a Special one. I don't pass that area much anymore, but when I Do, it's a must to call in to test myself. You have to go to challenge yourself to choose something different. YUMMO. LEN.

Purchased about 8 pies the other day. Friends and family that I ate them with were not over excited with them. They all had a negative to say about the pies. I did like mine. Might have to take a drive up the mountain to get my pies in the future.

Decent food. Too bad pretty much everytime you ask for anything whether it is meat pies, bread rolls, loafs of bread or hot dogs they are always sold out. Getting toilet paper during COVID was easier than trying to get anything from this business

If you're ever passing through the basin around lunchtime, this bakery is the "go to" place for a pie and a cake. Great service from friendly staff and the food is fabulous. Been coming here for years!

Most things are fairly nice, bread is extremely crummy. Need to clean your toaster after every breakfast. I should clarify, I need to clean my toaster every time as the bread is so crummy.

I’d heard great things about their Neenish tarts and I wasn’t disappointed. I also had an apple cake which exceeded expectations. I’ll be back whenever I pass through the area again.

'Thought I'd order an ordinary pie today - for a normal price, and was blown away at how full of flavour it was. And how much filling it contained. The Cafe is well worth a detour.

Everything a bakery ought be, Lamington gets a special mention, has jam in it.. something not done as much. It was very good.

For $5 i never wanted a well done pie which tasted burnt and awful. Should have gone to an Asian bakery in alchester instead.
