As a fan of banh mi, I recently stopped by To's Bakery in Footscray to see what all the fuss was about. Located on a busy street in the heart of Footscray, To's Bakery can get quite crowded on Sundays, so it's important to be clear with your order to avoid any mix-ups. Despite the busy atmosphere, the staff at To's Bakery were efficient and friendly, and my order was ready in no time. The Crispy Pork Banh Mi was the standout dish, with succulent slices of pork and a variety of fresh, flavorful toppings. The bread was also of high quality, with a crispy exterior and a soft, pillowy interior. Overall, the prices at To's Bakery are on par with other banh mi spots in the area, and the quality of the food is definitely worth the visit. If you're in the mood for a delicious banh mi in Footscray, To's Bakery is a solid choice.
Bought some desserts from bakery on 14/3 and they have mould on it even though I ate it on the day I bought it. Its used by date is 14/3 but bakery still sold it so I would assume the dessert was alright but it seems like it was made very long ago. Very shocked and disappointed at them selling this as I dare not eat the other desserts I bought from this bakery as I do not know their condition as well. Money wasted. Might be wise to not get any desserts from them as you don’t know when they were made.
No good, not worth 8 dollars roll. Roll is so tiny. Not even a full size baguette. I got the tomato base meatball, but the roll should have butter and paté, i got neither. I did asked for the alot. . The price are all 8 dollars except crispy pork roll& fish cake roll that are 10 dollars. Very disappointed overall, not the same as back then .... not going back here . Way too expensive. Guess i stick to sunshine selina hot bread, cheaper(6/7 dollars) and they fill up the top the bread.
- Inconsistency w bread and taste of fillings. - Tiger bread was my favourite but it is inconsistent w taste and this time i was disappointed that it was undercooked. - I understand the rise in inflation but when making a purchase I was then told to be charged another .50 cents for using card which i approved. Only to find there was an additional 1.5% surcharge on top for using card. Appears to be greedy and dishonest despite selling undercooked bread.
To's Bakery takes the cake when it comes to Banh Mi. Incredible service, super fast, lots of extras on offer. I work nearby and wouldn’t go anywhere else for lunch! Absolute favourite, 10/10

Purchased a mix ham Banh Mi ($8) and a jam donut ($3.5). Service is very quick, you'll get your food in no time even if there's a long line. The Banh Mi was fresh and delicious, could have had more ham but that may be me being very hungry. The Jam Donut was fresh and fluffy. Would actually go back again just to get another one with my Banh Mi. There's also a wide variety of Vietnamese desserts, savoury products and fried products. Would recommend!
Very fresh banh mi bread. Mostly $7 each. We tried grilled meatball & ham (or cold meat). Grilled meatball was very tasty with addition of shallot oil in addition to reheat pate & mayonnaise and was generous in meat. Ham (cold meat) roll only had 2 thin slices of meatloaf which was quite disappointing as the roll was dominated with pickled daikon & carrot and the balance was taken away. Would try another style next time.
Maybe my expectations are too high, I expected a pretty spectacular banh mi but compared to Nhu Ngoc, the textures proportion was just not hitting the mark. The Australasian chicken kebabs though, was 150% on the mark with huge chunks of meat.. which is the lack of meat in the banh mi was so disappointing. 3/5 for the banh mi. 5/5 for chicken kebabs, but that's not their core business.
Supposedly one of the best banh mis in Footscray, but we were very disappointed. Both our tofu and crispy pork were small, bland and dry (no hoisin or maggi). Probably one of the worst I’ve had in a while. Red bean ball was also very oily and too chewy.

I love To’s! The service is always so friendly. I go here all the time for a quick lunch, vegan tofu banh mi is the BEST, the rolls are so fresh and soft. Every time I walk past this bakery I cannot resist going in. Try their desserts as well, I always take one home with me and they get devoured very quickly. Thank you for the food …
$ If this is the "best" bahn mi west side - am a little surprised. Roll was fresh, it was tasty, the crispy pork was crispy (very salty) but I thought pretty light on in regards to fillings. Have had better. Some smallish stools and tables on the footpath - pretty simple cafe - friendly ladies behind the counter though.
One of the best banh mi for Crispy Pork filling. The baguette was undeniably fresh, so crusty on the outside, soft pillowy on the inside. Perfect for each bite with the crispy pork crackling inside the bread. The meat was tender, cut into small little juicy pieces with a dash of gravy and soy. Banh Mi heaven for me.
I like this place for its nem nuong (bbq meatball) . I always got the sauce from nem nuong as complementary (because I was the last one buy so they gave me everything they got left). I havent had any bad experience with their service though. But I agree with the review about the quality aint as good as before
The tomato meat ball banh mi was different in a good way. Plenty of filling, Unlike the joint just a few doors up the road…. Their boxed food was excellent also, I have no idea what it was other than it’s got broad rice noodles and slices of pork sausages. Friendly staff, and the boss man seems like a top bloke.
Hands down one of my favourite bahn mis in Melbourne. I don't know why, but something about their tofu roll is better than anywhere else's. The mayo makes it extra creamy and the marinade is great. Staff are also incredibly nice. Don't forget to suss the selection of packaged cakes and mock meats as well …
Asian bakery heaven. MUST VISIT in footscray!! so many unique and delicious Asian snacks with very affordable price, they sell desserts, buns, noodle, fried chicken, ready to eat meals, and also Vietnamese bread rolls! Their bread rolls were very tasty, amazing! Highly recommend this place to everyone …
Buy a dessert, the marked price is $5. But a old lady insist on charge $5.5, said they have not change the marked price but I have to pay the new price...No one care the 50 cents, but what has she done let me feel uncomfortable. There are so many similar shops nearby, i will never shop here again.
I had the Pork Roll and Salad Banh Mi. To be honest, it was just okay. The bun was decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. The biggest issue was the pork roll - it wasn't sliced thinly enough, which made it a bit difficult to eat. The flavor was okay, but I've had better.
Great marinated tofu Bahn mi. Fresh food and welcoming ladies behind the bar serving food.

Bahn MI, Tofu Roll
Unfortunately not as good as the many times I've been here and in the past. Service was great but a price hike & the roll was light as a feather, one tiny piece of chilli & barely a hint of pâté. Their reign of it being my favourite in Footscray is now over
Absolutely my favourite bakery ! They have the best Bahn mi I have ever had! I have tried lots of other places over the years, but will always return to toh's! The staff are lovely too, and even with a really long queue you never have to wait too long!
Had the chiken roll. Bread was very fresh and that was the only good thing about it. There was not enough filling. I asked for chilli but I could not taste any. First half was bland and the second half extremely salty. Definitely not worth $7.5.
Beautiful crisp fresh bread and generous spread of pate makes this one of the best in the west. The ingredients are always fresh, and the light and tangy carrots perfectly cut through the richness of the crispy pork or tender chicken. They
Not as good as it used to be Price as gone up by $2-$3 per roll but quality and size of the banh mi has dropped Most recent banh mi today had no flavour. Barely any pate and seasoning to the banh mi Will not be coming back here
The reviews alone convince you to go there. Amazing no, overpriced yes, not nearly enough filling, tasty yes! Worth waiting in line god no! Much much better around! Bought some additional bread rolls which were great!
Nice ham bahn mi $8 but needed more herbs. For the price I would rather go to french baguette , or for a cheaper alternative (whilst still packing flavour and a crunchy but also soft roll) Ba Le.
My go to for banh mi in footscray. I'm basic so I just get Bánh Mì Thịt Nguội . Its been around for years it feels like home. If you want a legit Vietnamese Australian experience go here.
Very good phat juicy chicken wing $3 would recommend. Merry Christmas

literally ordered a cold meat banh mi with extra pate and Mayo with no carrot. The older woman made it and did the exact opposite. There is not a speck of pate or Mayo lool
Good quality, but the tofu and veggie banh mi went from $5 to $8 in the last 2 years, and the toppings seemed a bit stingy this time. Will still go back though.
NEVER BUY FOOD FROM HERE! Especially the desserts!! They sell mouldy food. And you don't realise it till you open the packet to eat, by then it's too late
I am always amazed by the variety of vegetarian takeaways available at this place. Will always try a different item each time I’m in Footscray.
Mid banh mi, not much filling and half stale bread, however was decently flavourful.

Best hot bread at 5am! Beautiful aunties in the kitchen baking & laughing is exactly what this world needs! Warm & friendly service!
The mix ham roll is alright, not really flavorful, fresh salad but the fillings are quite less. Baked pork buns is worth to try
Smells delicious as soon as you walk in! The fresh bread is so soft and yummy, definitely will be coming here more often :)
Food ok, card surcharge is different pending who serves you. One day 10c extra next day was 50c extra. Dodgy
