This Walgreens has become a sad shell of what it once was. The pharmacy is the absolute worst, and the pharmacy app is a joke. Even if I was willing to say that there are new hurdles with getting and keeping meds in stock, the new practice of giving out incorrect pick-up times is completely inexcusable. I was recently told by a pharmacist that a rx would be ready at a certain time. I went in an hour later than that time and was told, after the cashier checked with the pharmacist, it would be ready in 45 minutes. I went to the pharmacist’s window to inquire, and was told it was actually still out-of-stock. It wasn’t ready for another two days; I had already been waiting five days. Unfortunately, this is my experience at least once a month. I switched all of my prescriptions to another pharmacy yesterday. I gave it two stars because there are two cashiers who are really helpful and pleasant.
Went to this Walgreen pharmacy because they were the only one open. My fiancé broke his foot and needed to fill his prescription that night as he was in a lot of pain. We was told we had to wait an hour as i watched the pharmacy staff talking to each other laughing and another staff member walks to the back and sits there as a distraction talking and laughing complaining about getting off work. I get back in line which was really long to finally get up to the front to be told they can’t fill the prescription after sitting for a damn hour I am pissed they didn’t offer no recommendations for the medication I can possibly buy then they were rude no compassion or empathy whatsoever. I wouldn’t never go back here again at all Walgreens on the south side are straight trash just go downtown.
This place is always busy therefore there is a long line at the registers and the pharmacy. Don't expect everyday low prices - this is Hyde Park. I trust the knowledge of the pharmacy when it comes to patient wellbeing but they have been slow to negotiate billing with common insurance companies used in the area. The restroom is always dirty but it isn't as bad as the Treasure Island basement. I still will go here because it is 24 hours, has a clinic, has a Red Box and stocks it's shelves well. I fully expect to pay 2x as much as I should and spend an hour each visit. Caution, they replaced the Chase ATM with some other bank recently.
Unable to move my prescriptions after multiple calls over the course of a week. They kept telling me “it should take 24 hours,” as if that is in anyway helpful or comforting after five days and hours on hold. All their products are locked behind plastic cases and almost all the buttons to ring for assistance are broken. I told the manager about the broken buttons, and her response, without taking the earbud out of her ear, was to tell me that it was a “corporate issue” and there was nothing she could do. The pharmacy staff in the store is rude and unhelpful.
They have on multiple occasions just hung up on me when I was asking about my prescription, lost my prescription after they told me it was filled, notified random unknown people (instead of me) that my prescription was ready (pretty sure this is illegal), and told me my prescription would be ready only to not fill it and then continue to not fill it when I have called to check the status multiple times. These people are rude, unprofessional and incompetent.
It’s so unfortunate that this is the only 24 hour Walgreens pharmacy on the South Side. It’s always understaffed, the lines are always comically long, staff does not answer the phones, prescriptions are never available on time and information regarding prescriptions are often typed into the database incorrectly resulting in overcharges, unnecessary major delays in refills and suffering for patients. This is so disappointing.
I used to prefer this pharmacy but it is not as good as it used to be. My doctor submitted a script to them on Thursday and I came in on Friday to pick it up. A rep told me that it would be a hour and a half wait. I told her I would be back to pick it up later. I came in today Monday and it wasn't even put in and I was told it would be a 2 hour wait today. Terrible experience. Go elsewhere if you can!
Pharmacy never answers the phone and always messes stuff up or the workers have no idea what they’re doing. Idk if it’s training or what. Pharmacy kept me on hold for 25 mins and hung up. Called back and was still on hold after 10 mins so I just hung up. Ridiculous. And I didn’t call at a busy time so I guess they just don’t like answering the phones for some reason
This bye far the worst Walgreens ever pharmacy ever.. only in the black folks neighborhood.. drop off my auntie prescription up north. They had a whole line for drop off.. At this location u have to wait in a long line just to drop off your prescription.. and waiting again to pick it up.. The way black ppl get treat at this place is Beyond me.. Walgreens do better
Just literally sat on the phone for about 35 minutes only had a question about medications….NO ONE EVER ANSWER THE PHARMACY PHONE…..EVER AND ITS SAD BECAUSE THIS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES THIS….YOU JUST SIT AND SIT ON HOLD TIL THE CALL HANGS UP….ITS SAD CARELESS AND HEARTBREAKING
DO NOT come here for a Covid-19 vaccine shot. You have to make an appointment online, but it makes no difference to them. There is still an hour wait before you check in. THEN there's another 15+ minute wait to get the shot. Go elsewhere if you can.
Pharmacy gets a failing grade. This is a serious matter: on my last three prescription refills there were serious delays and mistakes and misinformation in the process. Go somewhere else if you want to stay healthy.
I do love this Walgreens, the staff is always making sure you find what you are looking for. And if they don't have it, they will suggest something close if not better. …
Stopped by for a tall can of monster energy and some sour patch kids. It is typically busy so expect long lines. They are under staffed. They do the best they can.
Don’t know what is wrong with the pharmacy but it consistently has egregious wait times with no apparent concern by the employees for the long lines that build up
It can take over an hour to speak to a pharmacist by phone and sometimes you have to call several times before they pick up. Very frustrating and time consuming.
Terrible service Wait times for prescriptions usually more than 40 minutes. Most patients walk away without their medication. Staff is rude and incompetent.
This is the best location for my pharmacy needs and not feeling threaten walking from your car to the door. No thugs hanging around the entrance.
Been on hold for the pharmacy over 30 minutes now and all I’m getting is sorry to keep you waiting there’s one caller ahead of you …
I have seen some bad reviews for this place and I don't understand. Krystal was so much help with everything. A really great experience!
I was in and out of the pharmacy 5 minutes. No line no waiting. Pharmacist answered all my questions.
Machines are ALWAYS broken. It’s also very difficult to find items b/c of the boxes everywhere.
Understaffed. Line is always wrapped around the store, no matter what time of day.
Good place but line always long
Terrible customer services.
