"Everything was fine about the theater"
Great local theater! We just had a birthday party there and it was great except when we were late for the movie and another group took all our seats that was suppose be reserved for us. I spoke with the person in charge and she suggested that she can stop the movie and move seats around but how can I inconvenience everyone in the theater for a section that should have been reserved correctly. One tip I would give to the organizers of Alpine is give the reserve seat numbers ahead of time so we know the seats ahead of time instead of the day of the event. Also, I'm not sure what happened to the air conditioner but it was hot in there. We were offered free future tickets for the inconvenience. Otherwise, thank you for making our kids experience memorable. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I usually only go to this movie theater if the film I want to see isn't playing closer to where I live. I used to come here many moons ago when my mother or father took me here. So, this place has been in business for a very long time. The prices here are cheaper than the average chain movie theater, and the matinee is only $8. The theater is kept clean, with the exception of the occasional popcorn that is thrown around by messy customers, and the bathrooms are either hit or miss if you know what I mean in regards to cleanliness. The seats can be a bit too comfortable as they recline a little too far back. The food and drink prices are what you can expect from any movie theater. Overall, it is a decent neighborhood theater that I would visit again in the future.
Need to train the staff. Let's start with tickets, the ticket agent was on the phone texting while I was talking to her. Made a mistake and didn't apologize for it. Concession stand, another duzy. We ordered the normal (popcorn and soda combo). The young lady behind the counter was doing something with the popcorn maker and when we finally got her attention and got thr popcorn, she went back to the popcorn maker and continued doing what she was doing before....oh yeah, we were still standing there waiting for the soda and it's movie time. Again, please train your staff so you don't lose your client to other movie theaters (if that matters to you)
Excellent! I have been going here for many years now; it continues to be reliable, convenient, and fun, especially as a local theater. The theater isn't the biggest, but it has a timeless and classic feel to it. Tickets can be purchased traditionally at the door or online in advance. The tickets are affordable and the refreshments are pretty standard price. The staff is accommodating and friendly; I have never had any unpleasant interactions with them. Occasionally, you might encounter punks who ruin the movie in one way or another, but other than that, a great cinema!
Everything was fine about the theater. It could use a few more employees guiding people to the correct theater. Adequate cleanliness and the price during matinees is cheap. The worst part of the experience wasn't the theaters fault. Neighborhood is heavily trafficked by pedestrians and cars, so parking is scarce. Also the locals are a melting pot of middle eastern and others, and I got to hear a group of young teens readying to shoot and kill someone, or so they were loudly and crudely proclaiming in front of children exiting the theater.
Small yet efficient. Very Price friendly. Saw Goosebumps 2 with the children. Had a movie party there. It went well. Glad to know they host such a thing. As long as you don't have as many people as we did lol. It was too many of us in the party room. Make sure ur party is at max 30 ppl (children and adults). I think we had double that. It turned out very well. I'd recommend throwing children's parties here and just going here for a more intimate date also. No sneaking into other movies either.
I love this theater. It's never overcrowded and the staff is very friendly. If there is one takeaway that keeps me from giving it a five star is that it needs to be more accesible for the disabled. Having space for wheelchairs is not covering all the people with disabilities. You have to also cater to people with physical disabilities. The chairs are too low for them. Perhaps provide boosters for adults with physical disabilities as well as senior citizens. I see they renovated but forgot that part.
This gem of a place is one of the last family owned neighborhood theaters. Their prices AND popcorn are amazing. There are days where I just pop in to get the popcorn if there is not a film I am keen to see. Great staff. They made it look super fancy a while back but as my mama used to say, no shame in being shabby as long as it is clean and this place is ALWAYS clean. Staff cannot help if the last one out of the toilet was yucky, but they are quick to remedy the situation.
My hubby and I had a day date to see Creed 3. We love this theater! It is a bit dated, but that is NO PROBLEM for us. Just make sure you choose a stable chair before sitting down. The popcorn was good and fresh, and we enjoyed ourselves. Snack selection is good, prices are fair, and the temperature of the theater was comfortable. Bathrooms were decent and clean. No complaints about this theater and plan to come back as often as possible.
12/11/2019 I’m shokeD, we came to the cinema, and here school buses are everywhere, children’s time and children are everywhere, our place is disgusting, everything is dirty in popcorn and cups from water! We came to watch “Doctor Sleep “ at 12: 45,we sit and watch the credits of the cartoon that the children watched, horrified, why didn’t anyone move the time of the visit and did the cleaning? This is not fair!
Tickets are cheap, theater rooms are decent. The bathrooms are horrible and there was kids being loud and talking through the whole movie. There’s young kids who work there and it shows, limited concession stand options but the popcorn was really good! They need a slight upgrade and good management, this is a staple in the area and I would like to keep coming here just need to tighten up and also clean!
Today we watched a movie but unfortunately we could not hear it because the AC which staff claimed to be aware of not working properly was making a terrible noise ruining the movie experience for me n my kids….supervisor said to be named Ivan was very rude and the staff who was watching a movie on phone while on the clock said I upset him because I complained of the obvious noise….won’t be returning
Alpine Cinema is a whole childhood gem! Located in Bay Ridge, it is close to various modes of transportation and is unique to its classic architecture. The cinema theater speaks to its audience with their decent prices, especially on Wednesdays when the price is on the low! It is a very cozy atmosphere served with the aroma of buttery popcorn at the concession stands and a variety of great movies!
it’s the bees knees! the oldest running theater in nyc just celebrated its 100th anniversary! prices are cheap! $6 wednesday special is unbeatable! great bargain and concessions are reasonable as well! god skews the owner who believes i’m taking care of the community and giving families access to s classic theater experience in an age of a antisocial scopolamine media cold streaming!
This was a very nice theater w. The GREATEST price tickets . It also reminded me of those cinema theaters that are in small towns. I also like that the snacks weren't that expensive either. Everything was clean & affordable and the staff was friendly. I appreciated the spacious seating as well (it wasn't crowded). This will definitely be my little secret when I'm in the area !!
Although not fancy I love this theater! First, they have reasonable prices. Second, many options for movies. Third, nearly never fully booked. Additionally, many food options nearby. As a little downside - sometimes the crowd is loud and the security does not care and cleanliness (not ideal, but not horrible). Still a nice option if you live in the area.
They wasn't nice to us, the skinny lady with the hair net, and lashes was super mean ignand grandma flat out. refused to show any kindness. And they refused to give change to my 10 year old we need quarters for a toy thing smh... after I use cash the other light skin kid help. We paid too much for 7 people to be treated so badly today at 12:10
I love how there’s the 6$ Wednesdays. I wish there were more food options, which is how I feel about most theaters. It’s cool here, never had any issues with cleanliness & the staff is always fantastic. Only things is tbh this theater always has really obnoxious people in any given movie, due to the fact many middle & high schoolers come here.
This is an old-school theatre. The chairs are, if not broken, highly stressed and floppy. But I love it. I love the people who come in with the flashlight on the phone shining bright. I love the price of a matinee movie. This place is old school Brooklyn, and now I just go here to see anything I can't wait for streaming on.
i went to go see the forever purge here, about $14? for two people, i mean it’s pretty good, but i absolutely love how they redid it, it gives me some type of fancy vibe, it felt good being back in the theater since of covid, but overall it was nice, theyre still fixing some parts but i can’t wait to see the final part!
Hosted my kid’s birthday party there, invited all his friends to a movie with unlimited popcorn and drinks, we also got to use the party area an hour. Everyone had a fabulous time (kids and adults both!) My kid definitely felt very special. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We would come back again next time!
I’m going to be honest: The people who run this place are alright but with the cheap prices attracts the cheap crowd, and the obnoxious kids. You’re honestly better off going to a theater that is set in a nicer neighborhood and paying a little more for a theater experience that will leave you feeling better.
It's a small movie theater with rooms available for birthday parties. The fascinating part is having your name posted on the marquee to commemorate the celebration. Supercool. The theater is self needs revamping, but the reclining seats are an added plus to watch a nice flick. Cheers all!
I had a better experience here seeing Black Adam in standard than I did seeing Black Panther 2 in 3D. The screen was tiny, noticably dirty, and the volume on the movie was too low. I go here for the convenience of the location, not inspired to catch more films in theaters going there.
I haven’t been at the movies for a long time. The new renovations made the space more spacious/sorta modern. Pricing for food is sorta pricey but better than AMC/other locations. Not sure if it’s for AM/Early PM hours but tickets are cheaper/$7 online not sure about in person though.
Affordable local movie theatre. No real bells and whistles but the matinees are adorable for everyone, especially in this day and age. A lot of kids when schools not in, some kids from other not so good neighborhoods but overall the kids aren't horrible. I hope they're here to stay.
Great place for children to enjoy movies, a little out dated, needs some renovation but u get what u pay for I guess. Movie & concession prices very reasonable. There was a child's birthday party going on when I came but it was cool with me. This theatre is very kid-friendly!
I love this cinema it’s a great place to come and watch movies. I always go there and Im never disappointed. The quality is great. They have amazing food. And it’s very peaceful in there so there’s a 1/10 percentage that there’s gonna be at least one person that will be loud.
Growing up this was a childhood Cinema for me. Amazing upgrades for the seats and indoor beautification. Concession stand prices were definitely fabulous. Staff was polite, courteous and helpful. Would recommend over all movie theaters, above all.
I came here with friends and young kids behind us kept running around kicking the seats and entering and exiting the theater and talking the whole movie. At one point one of the kids said im going to knock you out. And this was an over 18 movie.
Usually always great but the last time was the other night watching Avatar in theater 3 and forgot out cats new memory Foam bed and when we called up and my wife went there they said nobody found it when hardly nobody was in that theater an
Amazing old school nostalgic feel to this theater! Also at the current price of $10 for a movie ticket you can't go wrong. I love the vibe and atmosphere this theater provides. It took me back to the simpler movie going experiences of long
Amazing ticket prices, cool location and clean theater. Theater reminded of old school theaters which provided a fun and relaxing cinematic energy. Sometimes theaters with modern technology do the most which distracts from experience but
Update: I’m updating my review after seeing a number of movies here over the past year. The first reason being the state of the bathrooms are sometimes extremely dirty to the point where I will not step inside the bathroom. They really
Very large entrance, good amount of snacks/popcorn although may be pricey. Wait times are a little long but nonetheless movie screens were large and audience was not too full. Good place to see the newest movies and the staff are nice.
Greetings! Hosted my Son Birthday at this theater totally recommend I'm definitely a satisfied customer. Shot out to Stacy, Jennifer and Ashley rest of staff as well. Very professional customer service Love this theater …
I can't say enough good things about this place. Where else can u go to the movies anymore for 11 bux and get soda and nachos for under 20. Always has the popular movies showing clean friendly place. Honestly nothing bad to say.
It's good but they changed the seats now and i your like me and haven't been they're in a while it's surprising , the seat now dont go high up now the seats are all placed on the floor but everything else was amazing …
Went here yesterday to watch Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. It was a great movie. Liked the theater too, it was clean for the most part, the lady at the ticket register was nice and the concessions were quick too.
It’s a good movie theatre. Small. Cheap ticket prices. The staff are friendly. I only gave four stars because my partner and I experienced some homophobic remarks from some teenagers that were there.
whole new menu re did the seating i know their use to be a rumor they use to have bug bugs finally decided to give it a shot they re did the whole movie theater great experience!! popcorn was amazing
Very nice theatre. Ticket prices aren't too bad either. I love the big seats and the large theatre space that it has. Very comfortable. Nice place to go on your day off to watch a good movie. …
That was the worst cinema experience I've ever had. People sat wherever they liked, not even following their ticketed seating assignments. I even called the manager, but it was completely useless.
Makes no sense to have earliest movies start at 1pm and not open until around 12:50pm with a line of people waiting to buy tickets. Other than that, movie was great, clean, and quick with service
C'mon, at least let the end credits roll for a bit before just shutting the screen off. Credits ran literally for a second and the screen was shut off for Across the spiderverse at 9:05 today.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Affordable tickets too. I think the drinks and snacks aren't as overpriced as other movie theaters. Pretty clean everytime I have been there.
legit the best place to watch a movie in bay ridge.. every time i go there they usually dont have hot dogs available so that sucks, overall pretty clean place, would recommend
I always go here whenever I am heading to watch a movie. Bathrooms are clean and usually the theaters aren't dirty! I recommend this movie theater as it is cheap and clean.
Work in progress in improving theater. I would like to see better seats. They are too low and outdated. I know every improvement takes $$$. Staff customer service is great.
Now you have to pick seats. Unbelievable. That's nonsense. You can't even see in there. How are you supposed to find your seat. No flashlight. Very noisey
Great experience for an old theater..All prices all great food and movies..The seats are a bit outdated but you can still relax and enjoy the movie..
Recently went to the theatre there to see the new Transformers movie. They are up to date with all their choice of movies and the prices are fair.
It’s cozy and really local. Gives you this old school vibeee. Prices are relatively low and seats are comfy. Popcorn is expensive as always lol!
A local staple that has new life. Still could use some TLC but overall a nice theater experience for people who don't want to travel too far.
Seats are low and kind of uncomfortable, other than that it's a pretty simple straightforward theater. Nothing fancy, cheap and pretty quiet
Nice local theater in Bay Ridge neighborhood. They did a little renovation, and the lobby looks much better. Ticket price are unbeatable.
Really old school feeling, even though the movie was great, popcorn everywhere, messes everywhere. But if I was to go again, I wouldn’t.
Great prices amazing movie selection great staff the bathrooms are always clean definitely would recommend for a birthday or other event
Renovations are nice but the popcorn was so dry and stale. Soda was flat and a staff member looked miserable and not that nice.
Cost effective, tickets cost arround $10. Popcorn range from $5-$7 small-large. Not the most clean or best user experience.
The movie theatre is large, it’s affordable and comfortable. It’s not a five star experience but still comfortable
Nice movie theater, very compact, clean, friendly staff, comfortable seats, good sound, nothing to complain about.
On Wednesday all movies are only $6, their food is also decently priced. Great place to see an inexpensive movie.
It was crowded and there was popcorn all over the floor but the movie area was decent and it was pretty enjoyable
The movie Meg 2 was great. But the theater need up grades and seats need to be fixed in theater 6. …
Small & Old School, but I liked it for cramped New York. Try Nitehawk next time that has higher reviews.
The cinema is average. If you’re looking for anything fancy, then this is not the place. It’s ok.
Not large and quiet halls for watching movies. Convenient transportation. Lots of popcorn …
Great Neighborhood theater and the improvements are evident keep up the good work …
Family Theater ❤️. We always love to go. It is not expensive and close home. …
Nice movie theater in general but lost a star cus of the cleanliness of the place
I love this theater. The staff is always friendly and has a family feel to it
Nice neighborhood theater. Fair prices and comfortable seats. Recommended!
Nice local theatre! The prices are great and their popcorn is the best.
It was a nice theater but the party space is small and not as nice
Been going there since I was a kid, still a great theater.
It's just okay ...needs better maintenance cleaning..
