THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! The ticket booth was closed so I went to the machines to redeem my tickets. The machine froze in the middle of the transaction so I wasn't sure if I the tickets were redeemed. Called over an employee and she advices me to do the transaction again so I try and the machine freezes again. She walks me over to the concession stand so the "manager" can help. She explains the situation to him [Arturo] and he nods his head and walks away. I assumed he was doing something to fix the situation but I notice him making himself an Icee, and standing in the corner chatting with an employee. I wait 10-15 minutes, he puts his icee down and walks past me to go make conversation with another employee. I approach him to ask how long is this going to take since it's been 20+ minutes of me trying to just redeem my tickets. He responds "I need a while so if you don't want to wait you're free to leave." Now I'm visibly annoyed because I already bought tickets and just needed to redeem them but the barcode wasn't working so leaving would only put me out of my money. Did I mention my movie started in this 30 minutes I wasted in the lobby? But ARTURO could careless, but the employee he was speaking to heard him be rude to me so she walked over to me to apologize and to help. For the THIRD attempt of trying to redeem these tickets I've already bought, they finally worked but the seats I wanted are now taken. So she tells me I need to "upgrade my seats" and I said sure. There is now a price difference which I proceed to pay for but she tells me they don't accept apple pay. If I knew this information 30 minutes ago I could've gotten cash from my car or even grab my physical card. But by the time I get to the parking lot and back I would've missed so much of the movie it wasn't even worth it. I kindly asked her to override the upgrade since I lost my seats because of them and she said only Arturo the manager can do that. She called him over and he whispered to her "Not for her type of people" and proceeded to walk away. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!
Edit: I had a series of bad experiences at this theatre. After SEVERAL yesterday I have to change my review. Yesterday I saw 3 movies at this location and had planned to use my birthday coupon for free large popcorn and drink. The manager told me I had to pay for the drink and there was nothing he could do even after I showed the coupon. Then a movie played with NO trailers (so my friend buying popcorn missed the beginning) while the overhead lights were still fully on. They seated us at a later showing but attempted to use my account credits for that ticket and I had to follow up to have them restored. The third movie we went to the sound was so loud that it was actually painful. Even after lowering it, the sound was still loud enough that it distorted in places. This movie theatre is popular but seems understaffed if the lights and sound are not properly managed. Additionally, some theatres have trailers, some don't, and the length of trailers is totally different to other locations. Generally it's 15 to 20 min after showtime that the show starts. Some movies at Battery Park are list time, some are only 5 minutes of trailers, some are 15. You can't know here which you will get so you can't use your unlimited pass to go to multiple shows in a day. And even if you do, you may have to leave the movie to ask them to please turn the lights off. OLD REVIEW: I love this theatre! There has to be an elevator but I have never used it so can't say about wheelchair accessibility for sure but I LOVE The Conrad Hotel Lobby to relax in and meet friends prior to or after movies. The Shake Shack is nearby as well as some lovely parks and Hudson River views to kill time between movies if that's your thing.
I knew the moment I arrived that I was in for an exclusive experience when the lobby was situated on the penthouse floor. During the five-story escalator ascent, vast, unused spaces passed us by. I can only interpret this an intentional message from management that "good enough" doesn't cut it here, and "nothing" is better than "something." Finally, a business that values my time as much as I do. The check in process was exactly what you want it to be after a long journey and you're eager to settle in - swift and unremarkable. We were directed to our room and made ourselves comfortable. An unusual problem for NYC, it was entirely too large for just the two of us. It could almost be described as cavernous. The advantage, however, is that this allowed for the largest tv we'd ever seen. While a little loud with no volume control, we were both able to drift off to sleep surrounded by plush cushions. We slept in until it was time to check out, which only felt like a few hours. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city who's looking for more space than the standard shoebox accommodations. Must be willing to use a shared bathroom.
Not much good to say. Concessions are somehow worse than what you could expect 10-15 years ago. Pretzel bites were disgusting stale. It’s movie theater food I get it, but it’s bad compared to what you can get at other theaters (including other regals within 2 miles). They search your bag like you’re a common criminal. Employees were unnecessarily rude We had front row seats (I understand this was my fault for waiting till the last minute). But we must’ve been no more than 6 ft from the screen. Most theaters have realized this is untenable and simply do not install or sell seats this close. Not fair to charge full price for an unacceptable view. My friend went to the women’s room and there was a line out the door. When she tried again, she was shouted at by an employee that it was “closed for cleaning” when she was already in the bathroom. Overall a disappointing and regrettable experience. Go anywhere else. Regal Essex crossing, IPIC, AMC, and of course the GOAT Alamo drafthouse are practically the same price and worth checking out instead.
Regal Battery Park is an absolute gem. This movie theater provides an amazing experience from start to finish. The moment you step inside, you'll be greeted with a clean and inviting atmosphere. The theater is impeccably maintained, creating a comfortable and enjoyable environment for moviegoers. The seats are plush and cozy, ensuring a pleasant viewing experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any needs or questions. The overall atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to unwind and escape into the magic of cinema. Whether you're catching the latest blockbuster or enjoying an indie film, Regal Battery Park delivers an exceptional movie-watching experience. I highly recommend this theater to anyone seeking a clean, well-kept venue with a fantastic atmosphere.
Biggest most comfy reclinable easy boy seats, big screens, never crowded! My favorite theater… I only wish that they would play more independent films in less horror films. I think they would get a much bigger turn out there, because Tribeca has more discerning tastes, than some of the “B” films they have been loading up there… lately. I did notice that they are having some classic retro films like the birds by Hitchcock during Halloween and they’ve had to Miyazaki anime films as well with your great. I did see a Taylor Swift concert film which is interesting recently. Innoway I enjoyed it more than going to a concert because you got such a Birdseye view of all of the singers and dancing then if you were at the stadium.
The black leather seats in our theater were so worn down, that they literally no longer had the black coloring on them and were white. I have never seen something like this. I’m paying $20 a ticket and I can’t even get a decent seat that is not falling apart??!?!!! And TRUST ME I looked around the entire theater (theater 4) and ALL THE SEATS looked extremely worn down. Regal definitely needs to update the seats when they start to get this worn down, leaves a bad taste in my mouth to come back as it feel disgusting to sit in a seat that I literally can’t even wipe down anymore because the fabric is worn off. I honestly feel like I am owed back the $44.60 on my tickets, that theater was shameful and infuriating!
For the finer things in life expect only the best when viewing new movie releases. I love the way the entire movie complex is well hidden from the general population and how it provides an added flair of luxury with the spacing between seats. Each theater space has its own individual staff manager for assistance. The bathroom is clean, clean, clean. There is an elevator and escalator for accessibility and alotted space in the theater as well. This experience is way above a typical movie house. Caution: There may be upscale community events also taking place at this Regal Cinemas location that gives even more pleasurable flavor. The staff is most helpful beyond measure. Love, love it, love it!
Oh, ye discerning souls! As Shakespeare, I proffer mine appraisal of this majestic theater—the zenith of worldly artistry! Exquisite and luxurious in every facet, it beckons the noblest of hearts. Upon thrones of comfort, we recline, immersed in its celluloid tapestries. By Apollo's grace, I, too, discern greatness, and thus declare this grandiose venue unrivaled! Rare gem among troves, it bestows upon us visual symphonies, riveting the soul. Let it be known that, as Shakespeare, I've beheld countless stages, yet this resplendent haven resonates supreme, a testament to theater's enchantment—worthy of all accolades, a testament to true mastery!
I met my friend there to see Avatar 3D. It was my first time there. A little confusing finding the cinema's actual entry. It seemed like it's hidden in the side/upper outer edge level of an office building. I remember these floor plans from years ago. Similar new cinema's in midtown Manhattan had the same designs. After finding the ticket booth area, everything fell into place. It is big, open, very clean and friendly. The seating is super relaxing, big reclining chairs with trays. Assigned seating was refreshing. No need to scramble for seats. Can't wait to go back again.
Loved it, the city needed this so bad. I love watching movies and most of the theaters are so in need for an upgrade. This one is amazing, recliner leather seats, tray table to put your food and drink on. Super luxurious. So glad they did this. In these times where most people stream things online rather than go to the theatre and pay money. I'm glad someone is doing the right thing by offering upgraded experience. Wishing Regal the best in business. May you flourish so people like me have an amazing place to go to.
I love this theater!!!! I made the mistake of picking up my packages before spending the day at Regal Battery Park location and the entire staff was so patient and helpful with me. Kassan , a manager went above and beyond helping me with my packages and helping me settle in to my viewing. It's was the best service I have ever received at the movies . I would love to fill out a customer service form commending him on his excellent customer service. If you see Kassan at Regal Battery Park tell him to have a great day
This got to be the best movie theater I have ever been to for obvious reason; it is located inside a luxurious hotel Conrad. I have never seen a theater so organized, clean and safe until I went to see JW4. I really appreciate being safe and knowing there were no unruly, rowdy and wild teenagers like you commonly see at regular theaters. Even though I live in NJ, I wouldn't mind coming back to this theater. Also it's located in a prime and fancy area. So many luxury stores and shops nearby.
The theater is clean and well-maintained, with comfortable seats and top-notch projection and sound quality. The staff was also friendly and helpful, making the entire experience a joy from start to finish. In addition to the standard concessions offerings, I was also pleased to see a variety of healthier snack options available. All in all, I had a fantastic time at the Regal Battery Park movie theater and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch movie-going experience.
I’m only giving 2 stars due to the reclining chairs but other than that, this theatre is GHETTO, for a theatre that’s in a wealthy area, they sure act like they aren’t. #1, they DIDNT have the saw combo on day 1 on saw release. #2, the escalators were not working, and best of all!! #3, men were not allowed in the MENS room, told me to go upstairs if I have to use it, what a joke of an establishment, just go to the regal essex or regal Union, don’t give regal battery park your money.
This is my favorite theater to go watch movies here in NYC. It’s almost like a hidden gem in the downtown NYC area. The theater is in a nice area right in Battery Park by the water, a little walk from the closest train but still worth it. It’s never crazy crowded like other theaters, but I still prefer to go see an earlier showing of a movie with no one around. Its a quiet and relaxing theater to go see a movie with a decent selection of places to eat around.
The first time I went in there it was for my 20 birthday since then I felt in love with the place . They have those Leon light and from the second floor you can smell the popcorn the bathroom is always clean and can take a pretty good amount of people so no one have to hold a pee for to long they have place where you can put your phone on charge like me cause I always walk with my charger on me , it really adorable in there and I think you’re will love it too
The thing I love about this theater is that it is never overcrowded. Can't find tickets for that movie that just came out? Try this theater. It is also cleaner than most of the other city theaters as well. It has a funky entry though, as you enter the lobby at a hotel then you take a series of escalators up. Recommend getting those reclining seats. Those things are awesome, and you can pick where you sit so no rushing and pushing for good seats.
Had a great experience watching Godzilla Minus one here. The recliner seats are soooo comfortable. It was honestly the most comfortable I've been In a movie theate. The seats are soft and not loud when needing to adjust. The screen is crystal clear, incredible surround sound audio as well. Let's of space if you need to move too. The theater was also extremely clean. I would definitely come back here. Keep uo the great work Regal Battery Park!!
Hands down, one of the best, if not the best movie theater that I've ever been to in NYC. The theater itself feels extremely cozy and comfy, everything is well maintained, it's sleek and modern, while still elegant. For me the cherry on top was the seats, they were huge reclining box chairs that were something you would get on a first class flight, with moving trays and cup holder as well, it made the experience so much more enjoyable. 10/10!
Probably my favorite movie theater in the city. All the theaters and seats are nice and comfortable and clean. It never seems to get very busy or crowded so you’re not jammed in with too many other people either. It’s easy for me to get to from work and easy to get from there back to the Staten Island ferry to go home so I’ll often go after work on a weekday. There’s a Shake shack next door too so I’ll get dinner before going in.
Beautiful entrance and the Beyoncé Renaissance movie was amazing, but there were mice/rats in the theater. Was not expecting that seeing that it’s such a nice area and they serve food. I didn’t really feel comfortable there knowing rats were running around somewhere near me. Not very sanitary! Giving two stars because the entrance to the building was pretty nice and I got to see Beyoncé, but they need to get that under control.
this might’ve been located in a luxery hotel, but that doesn’t mean it’s a luxery movie theater. The prices are definitely inflated, an adult ticket is $20.50. Inside, the leather reclining chairs were peeling, and my friend told me that the leather was on my shoulders from when i was sitting down. Overall, I’d come here to show off on a date, not on a regular basis. Not a convenient movie theater.
This is the go to movie theater for my bf and me. The main reasons for this are the ability to reserve seats and that the seats are reclining. The only thing that takes away from it being 5 stars is the long line at the concession stand. Often times, there are only 2 people taking the orders and maybe 2 additional people getting the food. Last time, it took more than 15 minutes to get our snacks.
First visit here, good clean theater, friendly staff, bathroom cleaned at least twice on my visit. Seats are reserved, reclining and with a very handy swing tray for snacks. Seats were a bit worn, snack selection typical theater stuff and NYC prices: Hotdog combo with med popcorn and LG soda is $27. For cleanliness, staff and convenience to WTC Path trains and NYC trains it's worth the visit.
Beautiful theater at the top floor of a lavish avant garde complex. The view of downtown Manhattan from the windows is vast and stirring. Pastel lights hang above the lobby area, giving the theater a vaguely retro atmosphere. If you're in the area, I highly recommend going to this theater. They play both big blockbusters and thoughtful indie dramas.
Owns my heart when it comes to movie theaters in New York City. The seats are big and spacious, plus have space for you to put your food on. The staff is friendly and always helping out, I’ve never had a horrible or badexperience here. The only “bad” thing you could say is taking the lengthy escalators, but like why would anyone complain about that?
Went to see Barbie here with my girlfriend and thought they space was fine. Unfortunately, they were out of water at the concession stand and the subwoofer in theater 4 had blown out, so I feel compelled drop their star count. Water and a working sound system are pretty low bars. On the plus side, the chairs and stadium seating were great!
The best movie theater ever. Not only it has great comfortable seats and a nice choice of movies. People who work here are always friendly. My film camera accidentally fell off my bag while I was watching a movie yesterday. 5 hours later the employees were able to find it and kept it until the following day. Best people ever, thank you!
I haven't been in a movie theatre in years, partly due to covid. I was happily surprised that movie theatre chairs can be this comfortable, and where you are not fighting for elbow room. The chairs are very comfortable and you can press a button to stretch out/lean back. There us also a small table for food and a cup holder.
This is not a big screen. We were at hall 9. Smallest screen ever. With terrible sound system. We could actually here the movie playing in the hall on our right side! The popcorn was expensive and not fresh. We had to stand in line 28 minutes to get it. Do yourself a favor and choose a different venue to watch movies!
Awesome theater, elegant. The staff are gracious and courteous, always with a smile on their face. I love that they offer reserved tickets and seating. The seat were recliners and very comfortable. The sound system was out of this world. Highly recommend this beautiful theatre and I'm planning to go again.
Clean, fun, central theater spot with pre-purchased ticket seating. Been here a dozen times and it’s smoothly run and meets the expectations for a good movie theater. We go early to a lot of kids films and it’s family friendly. Great location for afterward to go see the water or hit the playground.
Such a nice theater, it has electronically controlled reclining seats, good snacks, AND it has a little arcade area with some fun games to use before or after the movie. On top of that it's in the same building as a hotel so chilling in the hotel lobby after the movie is pretty great.
I watched movie there and it was pretty cool. I absolutely loved the large cozy seat that has an automatically raising footrest. I watched Barbie and Regal’s bathrooms unfortunately made a great contrast with the movie Guys please clean tour terribly messy bathrooms, thank you …
We came here to see Barbie Movie. I love this theater. It’s the best one in Manhattan. Super clean, nice professional staff, and they got new reclining armchairs with tables now! I haven’t been here for couple of years and so glad too see the upgraded version of it …
One of the greatest movie experiences in a long time! Not crowded at all! Chairs are very comfortable and recline to practically laying down. Great helpful staff! Very clean bathrooms! Very cold air conditioning so carry blanket or dress to accommodate that! I can’t wait to go back!
It’s REGAL, so it’s good. Reclining seats - hard to underrate those! BUT needs to be managed with a little more care and fun! Location might be inconvenient for some. Public parking is a quiz. Otherwise, it is REGAL with reclining seats, less people and more room to breathe!;)
This place is hard to find. It was a few floors up and the signage on the ground floor is very small. I was lucky I ran into a very nice lady that told me the theater was up the escalators. The theater itself is nice. The seats are comfortable and bathrooms are clean.
This has become my favorite theater in the city. It’s generally pretty quiet here (at least at the earlier shows) and the staff is always friendly. If you’re using the app, ensure it’s working before getting to the top floor as the service can be sketchy at times.
Inside of the Conrad hotel . Take the escalator to the 4th floor. Buy tickets in advance and watch a good movie. Got to see Mission impossible dead reckoning. Seats were spacious, comfortable and reclining. Speakers sound was a but too loud for me though. …
It staring to show its age and seems neglected. Only one concession stand ever seems to be open and they do not operate with a sense of urgency. The reclining seats are nice but its almost impossible to find position that is idea for watching a movie.
I understand there is a limited menu. But the popcorn was bad. No taste at all and all small pieces, no real popcorn but more like crumbs. Other than that the theater is nice and seats are very comfortable. Lay down and chill.
Good! Quick and simple entry and bag check, spacious, not too crowded, and good waiting area. No complaints other than the obligatory complaint about Manhattan & theater prices and how a small bottle of water is around $5-6.
Nice theater! The location is convenient and the staff are friendly. The films are reasonably priced and I'm looking forward to checking out their new releases. I would absolutely recommend this place if you're in the area.
Seats were top-notch, location (lotta escalators) is high up, but considering the neighborhood, it's understandable. Sound system was good, as well as the popcorn. Went early, so maybe that's why no hotdogs.
Would be a 4-5 star review but the seats in the room we were in were falling apart. I actually walked out at the end of the movie with little pieces of black flakes of the seat on my back. It’s disgusting.
Never had a bad experience at this theater. It’s very clean, the seats are wonderfully comfortable, and it never seems that crowded due to the location. A very simple and quality movie experience.
THIS MOVIE THEATER IS NOT AIR CONDITIONED. So if you think you'd enjoy a sauna and a movie, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear, especially those susceptible to heat stroke.
My wife & I absolutely LOVE this theater. It’s very clean, the staff is always friendly, they have a lot of showtimes, & it’s never too crowded. Might be our favorite Regal in the whole city!!
The best in a city and my favorite! Would recommend to everyone, always clean and comfortable, but try to get the tickets like a couple of hours before the movie starts to get the best seats!
Usually come here for movies with my boys. Always clean and very spacious. Bathrooms are clean. They should hire more workers for concession stand, but always pleasant and well taken care of.
Used to love this theater but these seats are absolutely disgusting now and the theaters are always dirty. Wish they’d do an overhaul of the seating. Regal Essex is a MUCH better option.
A nice theater overall. The temperature in my room was a little too hot, which I wouldn't mind if it were winter, but we're in the middle of summer. I hope next time they have it fixed.
The Staff always mannerable, professional , and show willingness to help. The Staff is an access to your Corporation.(HUMAN CONTACT) The Theatre is beautiful and comfortable. Thank you
A bit pricey, but all theaters are these days. Was a great viewing experience otherwise. The seats were so comfortable, you’ll be in serious danger of falling asleep during the movie.
The staff is really nice, the facility is top notch. I can't say enough good things about this theater. If you want to be transported away to a mystical world then come here!
You have to take like 3 big escalators to get to the theaters, I love it, really immersive, like the inverse of US. Sometimes the speakers are way too loud here though.
Place was okay but the worker and security was so rude they were very unmannered and screaming at us and the customer service was not good! Would not recommend.
Very comfortable seats and very clean theater and bathroom. It's a really nice theater. No complaints. You will definitely enjoy your movie experience there
All the employees were friendly and helpful. The location is aesthetically appealing, and has become one of the prime locations for me to watch movies at.
Electric recliners. Plenty of room. Everything is spaced out. Don't have to worry about anyone kicking your seat. Best movie theater I have ever been too.
Yeah yeah it’s the movie there was OK Rigo was pretty clean actually other than that it’s Barry Park. They got some. I don’t know if Shake Shack Pl. yet.
The quality of the sound system and the reclining chairs made the movie a very enjoyable experience. One of the best movie theaters that I have been in.
Beautiful theater, convenient location, close to subway, and bar/restaurants. The food/snack/drinks offer could be better, and duo seats would be great.
Recliners are quite comfortable! A nice viewing experience. But it’s a little annoying how many escalators you have to go up to get to the theater.
Too many rowdy teenagers being disruptive. Lots of talking during the movie, repeatedly getting up & down and walking around in the auditorium.
The movie quality is amazing and the snacks are good. The seating is great and the employees are very kind with a bright and "alive" area.
The place is nice, clean, friendly, but the movie theaters have the air off. Literally, we were sweating. That is serious.
It was very clean, escalator wasn't working, the worker didn't advise us we could take the elevator I would go back
Amazing experience went to watch uncharted movie, Serivce is good, seats are really comfortable and very neat place
Nice area to stroll around. This is the only place we go to see the movie. Clean and very friendly staffing.
Great cinema, large screens and comfortable seating. Never seems to be particularly busy which is a bonus
The seats are good, the popcorn is good and also has a table when you go inside the movie theater.
Great cinema & overall experience. I love the very comfortable seats with maneuverable food rest!
Nice and clean. It was a good movie experience. It's one of my favorite NYC Regal theaters
Best seats in the house….. I must say as far as seating goes, this theater has the best .
Loved the chairs which declined to become sort of bed :) also comfortable arm rooms
The chairs recline completely unlike some other ones nearby! Love it
Nice theater with comfy recliner seats, love coming here …
My family and I loved it. We had a blast. Loved the seats.
Great space. I saw a double feature with my best friend.
Great movie theater. Always clean and never too crowded.
Very nice front desk staff, but limited food selection.
Nice theater but they need to upgrade the seats.
