We thought I'd be a good idea to catch a film as it was raining and to kill time between checking out and going to the airport and we're glad we did. The cinema was practically in the centre of times square facing Madame Tussauds. We wanted to check out the 4DX experience but unfortunately the movie times weren't convenient so we had to opt for the standard screen and we was blown away by it! Its had the most leg room I've ever seen and I've been to every cinema chain they have in the UK and to take it another step further every seat was an electronic leather lazy boy that fully reclined your legs up so it was as comfortable as being sat in your own living room! It also had a large cup holder in the arm rest and dinner tray sized table that swung round for you to put all your refreshments on. The screen was large and the sound was clear and the bass was there too. Highly recommend.
Save your coins people and don’t come to this ghetto unprofessional theatre , and my review has absolutely nothing to die with their remodeling. Honestly the worst theatre experience I’ve ever had. Nobody would shut up during the movie, people were screaming at the screen and jumping around. Definitely had a better experience at AMC across the street. People were smoking in the theatre and the lady next to me was drunk. It was unacceptable and nobody did anything when I brought it to their attention. I was told “ This is Normal, you’re in NY..” which I found to be a completely unprofessional response. Wasted money, and didn’t even get to enjoy the movie because we left due to the continuous disturbances.
Went to see Oppenheimer this weekend. First it was so hot my glasses were steaming, finally it started to cool down about 45 minutes in. Then, a fire extinguisher fell off the wall during the showing. People thought there was a fire from the smoke and started to evacuate. Guests realized it wasn’t a fire and sat back down. But the smell was sickening and caused multiple people to have asthma issues. One boy even had an asthma attack. They didn’t rewind or pause the movie, or even acknowledge after the showing was over. On top of that they came around and sprayed the entire room with insane amounts of scented air fresheners which was extremely distracting and caused more allergy issues/ coughing.
If I could give 10 stars I would !! The manager and the concession stand people on 3rd floor were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! First, I had 4DX tickets and I ordered my food for the wrong Regal theatre and I was so in distress about it. Straight to the point the manager and the staff at the concession stand went above and beyond to help me with this issue !!! Adding to this I had so much food and my husband was finding parking while me and my girls were inside the theatre and the staff literally helped carry and bring alllll of my food and drinks to my seats !! Thank You So much, the service was Exceptional and Greatly Appreciated!!! Love you All for life ! You guys are definitely Locked in!
10/2022 - update I’ve been saying I’m going to come back to this theatre to check out the new layout. They’ve been doing a major overhaul and I love it! For the longest time I was going across the street to AMC. But it’s official “I’m back Regal” me and my movie partner really enjoyed our visit. We critiqued everything from the concession stand decor etc. everything was on point even with them doing renovations. I can’t wait for them to finish the renovations. It’s going to be epic This has to be one of my.favorite theates to see movies. It's in a perfect location. Near all major transportation, shopping and dining. the theater is always clean. You can't go wrong with this place.
I would give a negative star if I could: DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. The entire lobby/center is under a massive construction and they do not tell you this. Okay, so technically this does not affect the movie theaters…EXCEPT THE CONSTRUCTION WORKERS ARE SKIPPING OUT ON WORK AND SLEEPING IN THE THEATERS DURING THE SHOWS WITH THEIR WALKIE TALKIES ON!! So, the entire time you’re watching a film you’re hearing “Beep! Beep! Adam needed on the second floor…” etc And if you DARE to say anything, asking the worker to please turn the walkie talkie off, he then THREATENSTO FIGHT YOU and nobody does ANYTHING, including management. Most likely to get punched in the face: 5 stars
Fantastic theatre. Each theatre (besides 4DX) is extremely comfortable, with soft pillowy recliner seating. All the theatres have a great sound system and pretty good screen quality. Their extra formats are really great too. RPX is something I tried for the first time recently and the screen was huge with even better sound, much better than the faux IMAX. 4DX is a little pricey but it's a ton of fun, if you pick the right film it's like being on a theme park attraction. Now, with Regal Unlimited it's much cheaper to go to the movies definitely worth it if you see more than 1 film a month.
The movie theater is still a construction site. It’s very unpleasant to be here, the floor is still naked cement and it’s missing tons of lights. I hated the place the moment i walked in. The food concession is terrible too, very few options and totally dated (it’s supposed to be a brand new movie theater). Lastly the seats inside the cinema are all worn out, probably haven’t been updated in over ten years. To make matters worse, my seat did not recline back. I absolutely HATED everything about this dilapidated place. Never coming again and neither should you.
Yet another place for a good movie, this is close to the subway, (N R Q W S 1 2 3 7) right after you come out of it, you will see an entrance to the ReGAL, opposite broadway and madame tussadues. But the shows are in the 3rd floor, you have to take the elevator to 1st floor and then a quick tip is to ask the guy for lift and you can directly go to the floor with auditoriums, the recliners were comfortable, screen was really big, we had a lots of fun, food was available, movies from all kinds of languages are available here.
I know they're under construction inside, but that's no excuse for disgusting bathrooms. I walked into 6 stalls before finding one acceptable to use. And 3 were out of order. That left 3 out of 12 available for use. One of the two garbage cans was overflowing. Stuff all over the floor, and one of the two hand dryers was broken. I'm a Regal member, I go to Regals all over the country. This was one of the worst, esp with construction issues at every turn.
This place looks like an actual construction center. I don’t know why they’re are open if there are renovations because there are only a few theatres that are actually open. When I tried to get snacks for the movie, they said they only take cash which I didn’t have. This is 2023. No one buys anything with cash. Horrible experience. Highlight was the actual movie. Do not recommend. Go to the AMC theater across the street instead.
Extensive renovations make it unpleasant and unnerving to be in this theatre. The vast interior is largely a shell with everything covered in plastic or plywood. Only the street entrance and the top floor where the auditoriums are located look normal. The auditorium itself was freezing, the seats were old with cracked upholstery and one would not recline. On the plus side, both the screen and the audio quality were excellent.
Must say haven't been to this theater in a while, and had great experience with my niece. Nice employees everything was clean. The concession stand was good. The food was great and warm. The theater was amazing, seats were comfortable, the floor wasn't sticky. Those lazy boy seats are great to watch movies. The also have the 4DX experience, were the seats shake according to the movie, can't to watch a movie in 4DX.
Great theater that is undergoing a lot of renovations at the moment. The inside of all the theaters are comfortable, cool and the sound systems are top tier. The only drawbacks are some of the seats are unclean and peeling but all are functional, the staff make sure of it. My absolute favorite part of the theater is the second floor which shows the promise of what is to come from Regal Times Square. Exciting!!!
The popcorn is always warm. The seats are large, the drinks are even larger. Everything feels futuristic. I enjoy the space. Cooker cutter and not very creative but it’s more more about the movie I suppose. The ambience is quite serene. One of the better theater I have been to in NyC. 4DX is quite the experience. The seats are moving, the water is spraying. Top notch. I can also appreciate the food trays.
This is a very big and clean movie theater. The prices were not extremely high for it being in the city and the staff was friendly. They have recliner seats here and the theater was not cold, (it was a perfect temperature). This theater has a wide selection of movies. I went to this theater to see a movie that wasn’t shown everywhere and it was great. I would highly recommend going here.
Very comfortable recliners and not too too cold. Still getting a facelift a few years later.. still one of the preferred theaters as the head to screen blocking ratio is good. The screen is never truly blocked and void of scratches. Would be nice to have restrooms on both sides of the theater with functional water fountains. --- Still functional and still under construction.
They show films in 4DX at $30.65; certain releases are available in RPX around $20+. I saw Blade Runner with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford here in 4DX (both RDX & 4DX are assigned seating). The theater is clean, courteous staff and they serve food such as pizza at the concession stand. Also theatergoers get free refills on beverages from the the self-service machines.
AMC is cheaper in price and also better experience. We paid extra to see Mario 4dx in Manhattan. BIG MISTAKE. Store looks horrible with exposed wires everywhere, cup holders and seats were still dirty, No movie posters so kids can take pictures and Very stale popcorn. About $200 spent to see the movie and it was a major bummer. New Rochelle Regal is definitely better.
They're in the middle of a remodel so it's hard to tell that its even open if you don't peek inside. The updates so far look really nice but it's still a ways off from being complete. Theater experience is standard, but some better sound isolation would help with noise leaks when walking outside of the theater rooms (for people particular about accidental spoilers)
Still under construction (4 stars). Other than that it was fine. I recently broke my ankle (still have to be super mom and treat my girls), the escalator wasn't working but thank goodness the elevators were. Short concession lines. Able to use my regards points as well as birthday rewards. Clean restrooms. All good news. Of course we'll be back!
Renovation in progress on my visit. Looking forward to seeing it again once completed. Watched Equalizer 3 in 4DX. I expected to smell gun fire and have a more visceral experience, however all we got was seat motion, chilling breeze and light flashes. So it's a ONE & DONE for 4DX it's more of a distraction than a bonus. Save your money and avoid 4DX.
Great cinema and pretty cheap, I caught a matinee show and it was $13, it's still being refurbished so doesn't have much charm yet, and the screen i had wasn't fantastic (had some slight vertical line issues) but didn't start from the experience 4 stars because the balance of seat (comfy, room and reclining) and the price which was very good
They’re doing a refurb so I can understand the fact that it looked like a building site. But the staff were incredibly slow and miserable. Minimal restroom facilities. The facilities in the cinema room itself were great. Need better staff training and I’m sure the building will improve once the works are completed, but for now, quite bad.
The cinema itself isn't too bad although the unfinished building and lacking concessions could ruin the experience. It has a 4dX theater which, when paired with the right movie, can be so delightful you will forget about what the cinema lacks. Overall, I enjoyed my visit but with a few changes, it can earn that 5th star.
It's already been stated that renovations are ongoing, and that there are recliners. Cool. I can't fully use the recliners though without obscuring about 1/4 of the screen. Since you guys are already renovating, lower down those dividers. Not everyone's a 6-footer! But yeah, video and audio are pretty good.
Update: In the dreads of refurbishment so not an easy or comfortable visit! In the past: Great stadium seating & VERY Clean... totally beats the AMC across the street as well as all over town with their dirty disgusting seats... So glad Regal's in Midtown and hope they're the brand coming to Hudson yards!
Not to bad place. They are remodeling. Also there is a 5 and Below just before you get to the movie theater. Incase if the concession stand does not have the snacks You want. So this place gives You plenty selections. And there are plenty of restaurants near by for before or After Your Movie.
Great seats, but omg I swear it gets more expensive every time I come. Two tickets, popcorn, soda, a water and junior mints: $69. Come on. That's insane. All that to sit next to a bunch of idiots who won't shut up during the entire movie? No thanks. I'll wait for streaming.
My first and only experience in of an American cinema and I was not disappointed! The prices are reasonable and the seats were really comfortable! I’ve only docked one star due it it undergoing heavy maintenance works. I will definitely be revisiting on my next trip
It’s one of the cleanest and welcoming theaters in New York! The staff are well trained and are attentive to every guest's need and questions. The food is fresh and always on time. I will definitely come back and bring others to experience this Awesome theater!
Regal movie theatre is making progressive strides with its ongoing construction, gradually enhancing the customer experience. The evolving facilities suggest a step-by-step improvement, indicating a more modern and comfortable atmosphere for moviegoers.
This rating will definitely change once the construction is complete. Right now, I worry about the staff that work there while construction workers are blowing dust and fumes all over the place. Regal Cinemas, please look out for your staff.
Still undergoing re-construction in the lobby and common areas. The interior theater however, are very comfortable with the plush reclining seats. That lobby and concession area NEEDS to hurry up and get completed!!!!!! …
Electrically operated Reclining Seats are very comfortable, moveable tray with cup holder for your concession food. Enjoyed the theatre, will definitely come back, worth the admission. Also, 4DX theatre - simulation with movie playing
This theater is under construction so honestly, it looks terrible. It was my first time there and nobody actually sat in their assigned seats so that was annoying. But the seats do recline so that’s nice. Bathrooms were very clean.
Went to see Star Wars Return of Jedi in 4D, where the chairs move, vibrate, spritz water, smoke. What an experience. Abt 30 bucks per ticket but worth it. Update: saw Jurassic world here and a great experience, so worth the money.
Went here to see Scream 6. Honestly was a great experience. Seats are recliners and very comfortable. The place was clean despite being under construction and it is cheaper than AMC which I believe is just across the road.
Went here with my daighter. Huge cinema complex next to the Westin. Cinema complex is huge, but all is clean. Sound and screen are perfect. A bit too many commercials before the movie starts. Good tip for a rainy day!
Modern, clean theater with latest movie technology offering some movies in 4DX, most recently the Meg, and with luxurious spacious recliners in their other theaters. I have never been disappointed seeing a movie here!
The whole place was under construction and looked that way too. The screen had a giant stain over the top left corner and the recliner on my seat didn't work. Absolutely not worth the premium price on the tickets.
Love nyc. Been to regal here 4 times replacing the chairs about to enter the last phase. Very nice place now... Now finished the final phase all the seats have been finished and upgraded as of 11/10/17
Great decoration and lighting in the lobby. Watched Black Adam on 4Dx and the experience was amazing. Even though the they’re remodeling but that doesn’t affect the experience at all. Loved it there.
We enjoyed our movie with my boyfriend Sunday evening. Good location, warm and clean inside. Very comfy seats. Oh, almost forgot about Thank you so much for a great service guys! …
Great location, clean, decent concession area and has a theater with movable seats to enhance the action. I like being able to reserve my reclining seat prior to the show in any of their theaters.
Place is under construction and can be seen made up signs, and improvements are being done . Theater salons especially RPX 4D is so appreciated with recliner seats with genuine experience.
Me and my granddaughter went to see Ninja Turtles where the seats move ,Very exciting I enjoyed it .I did not like that it was being renovated and had a dark look and plastic a bit scary.
The experience of watching a movie in 4DX was really fun as always, but it’s absolutely bizarre getting to the screen since the theater seems to be going through a very active renovation.
The place is under heavy construction so appearance should be forgiven. Comfortable seats, over priced food. Good staff, but caught a supervisor "drunk on power" being rude to them.
The best cinema I've ever been in! Air conditioning, reclining seats, lots of food! The only thing that bothered me is the 30 minute long previews before the film actually starts..
Way too better than AMC which is right in front of this. Seats are comfortable, restrooms are clean and staff are friendly! If you’d like to have good experience visit this theater.
The actual movie theaters in this spot are suuuuper comfortable! And the Regal rewards and membership programs are great! But this place has been under construction FOREVER, lol.
IT WAS ALLLLL ABOUT MY FAMILY DAY, HAD TO SHOW MY KING AND QUEEN HOW I WORK, I AS IN MY CO WORKERS HAD ALOT TO DO WITH BUILDING Several REGAL MOVIE THEATERS INCLUDING THIS ONE.
What a place. Chairs are so comfortable & all the staffs are really friendly. At the concession I was served my Maya & she was so kind to me all the way through my order.
This is like my personal favorite chilling movie theatre its so clean and tidy they are renovating so i can understand some disturbing stuff like dust and cardboard
Love the recliners. However the theater has been under construction for a very long time and seems to have made no progress. Attached is the photos of the inside
Very nice auditoriums and the seats are very comfortable. The tickets have a reasonable price and the 4K experience is very nice as well. Way better than AMC.
Really enjoyed the place. Comfy big chairs with space for food and drink and high ceilings. Funky art and design outside of each cinema. Well worth the visit.
Loved the 4DX experience, it was action filled and we totally enjoyed it!! The concession could use a facelift, the freestyle machine was cool! Would return!
Limited menu and under construction but still charging full-price for tickets. The seats are scratched and the screen is partially blocked when you recline.
After the change of the decor it looks pretty nice. Altho I still love the union square one the most. Stuff are most of the time nice. Restroom are clean .
This was the 1st three story cinema I have attended. Elevator or escalator available. Huge screens and reclining seats = a great movie watching experience.
Looks like a Third World country. I had a hard time accepting that the whole place is under major construction. Should have went across the street.
Enjoyable atmosphere here with comfortable reclining seats. The employee service is pretty great. Popcorns are good here. I had went to see Venom.
The theatre is conveniently located in the heart of Time square, it has mostly recliner seats which are very comfortable to watch movies in.
Offered me a lid for my to-go popcorn. Not a big deal, but novel for me and made for a safer trip back to the hotel for the popcorn and I.
The theatre itself looked great. The other parts were under construction. It's looked like that for quite a while. GET IT DONE ALREADY.
It's under serious renovation right now. Better go to the other locations in the city because the lobby looks like construction site
The experience was good, very comfortable seats but its under construction so lobby it's not the best experience
Canceled Taylor Swift tickets 3 days before the show with no explanation, or offer to re-accommodate.
Amazing cinema ! Biggest screen I have seen in a normal movie.. can't wait to see IMAX here .. …
Very comfy seats and the security usually don't care about you bringing in snacks in a backpack.
Attentive customer service. Comfortable seats. Wheelchair accessible and FRIENDLY.
Will change this to 5 stars once renos finish up. Seats are a huge plus though.
The recliner was not working and no one responded properly from the staff
Nice theater, still in renovation but the seats and rooms are very good
Finally saw a 4DX movie, Godzilla was an amazing experience.
Clean,nice,secure place...nice theater movies,great chairs
I loved it! Realy great place. Nice. Was fun.
