One would think since the application process for PetSmart is so strict that they would have competent, animal-loving, educated people working for them. 99% of PetSmart's this is absolutely the case, but definitely not for this location. I went in today with my dog and not one of them paid any attention to her, which is unusual as every other PetSmart I go to people come up and pet her and say hello and she is a bit of a timid dog so I use these experiences as positive ones for her to show her that people can be very nice. Additionally the girl behind the register attempted to give my dog a treat without asking, which, thank goodness I noticed and called my dog away and asked what it was, apparently it was beef liver which she is highly allergic to. Every other pet store asks if it is okay and is more than willing to tell you what they're about to give your dog before they give them something they could potentially get sick from. As I said, Not educated, and definitely not animal people. These people are simply there for a paycheck which is not what you want from a PetSmart. Typically PetSmart employees caring loving people who truly love animals. I've been in here many times only because it's convenient, and quite often the cats are very poorly taken care of with filthy litter boxes and no food and water, the whole place stinks of cat feces on a regular basis and if the employees ever do say hello they barely smile or look up from what they're doing when they do so.

Can't get a nail clipping same day / without scheduling an appt. They leave the doors locked and let ppl in as they feel like it. For some reason, when i stood outside for at least 5 min, no one came (I wanted to buy a Kong leash). When I went to the car and sat google searching alternative places, I saw another person go to the door - and they let that person in right away!! I thought maybe they were at capacity with Covid-19 and that's why they didn't open the door for me but then another person came to the door and they didn't have to wait either! I debated getting out of the car and trying my luck a second time but then a line formed (of course) and at that point I thought forget it, not happening. Not standing in line for 20 min when I was already supposed to be inside. The employees were conveniently too busy to answer the door when I was waiting... And waiting.... And waiting... It frustrates me because it's not the first time I've gone there and it's been locked up when it says it should be open. One time I just wanted dentastix and I was told that I couldn't get them unless I ordered them online. I've experienced nothing but inconvenience here.

They said we had to go to another location but they didn’t have any appointments for 2 weeks. We’re going on vacation next week! That’s WHY we were getting her groomed. We were SO upset. Then, they clearly didn’t understand what Eskie fur is like either (even though they’re on the poster for their furminator service.) Another employee gave her unsolicited opinion that they’d probably need to completely shave her down! Just because she has a dense undercoat. I was shocked! And quite upset with their (lack of) service.

I purchased a 1 42lb box of Smart choice cat litter online last night in hopes of taking advantage of their sale that when you buy 2 the price is only $36.00 instead of $22.99 for 1 Unfortunately there were no stores in Hamilton that had 2 in stock & most had none. I ended up purchasing 1 box for $22.99 & I used nearly all my points to receive a $5 discount as this litter use to cost only $13.99 just less then 10months ago. This morning I went back online & found a store in burlington that had the 2 boxes I needed to purchase to receive the sale discount, as I am planning to go to Burlington today anyways. It was extremely easy to locate the contact number online & an agent named Monica promply answered my call. She was able to locate my order quickly & ensured me that the order would be canceled as soon as the store opened at 9am & even offered me the options to either e-mail me or call me back to confirm that the order is cancled. Great customer service & the easiest return & call I have ever experienced when trying to contact a company to cancel an online purchase.

I brought in my dog for a BOOKED grooming appointment. Everything was going well until they took her to the back. 5 minutes later an exasperated woman comes out to tell me she can't groom my dog because it was too hard to get her into the crate. If I have an appointment for a certain time, why is my dog being shoved into a crate in the first place? I had told them this was her first full grooming experience and did not say she was crate trained. If your idea of handling a dog is trying to wrestle and shove them into a crate instead of simply telling me you are not ready for her, then maybe don't groom larger breeds. I was then told to "take her for a walk to calm her down" and MAYBE they would be able to trim her nails. I have had no problems with a simple nail trim at other petsmart locations. Then again, they took her in on her appointment time and started grooming her instead of trying to hog wrestle her into a crate. Won't be back. Never have I seen my dog so stressed out.

I'm very dissappointed with the grooming services offered at this location . I can't count how many times I've gone in and there has been no one there to do our dogs nails . Although you can't make an appt to book for nail trimmings I started calling in advance before I went . Well here we are again the fourth time in the last few months that I show up after being reassured that someone will be there to find out no one can do her nails. I was upset today as I went there on the advice that someone would be there at 145 pm today . I spoke with the Manager that gave a reason why the groomers were not there and asked if I wanted to come back on Saturday. No thank you as you have wasted my time too many times. You should really concentrate on getting a handle on yur operations and really stop wasting peoples precious time . Never to return to this Petsmart

I use this particular Petsmart location for grooming for my two dogs. Some of the groomers (Paula especially!) are absolutely fantastic. The value is great and I have been very happy with the service. However, today I had a different groomer (Chantel) and I was disappointed. For context one of my dogs is quite large (around 100 lbs) so I do appreciate the difficulty for groomers with such a large dog. Normally his appointments are 1-1.5 hrs with Paula and the website says to plan for 2-3 hrs for grooming. Today my appointment was almost 4 hrs long and he came back in a state of light distress. I received no communication about the delays with his appointment and had to call in to find out why the appointment was taking greater than 3 hrs. I will continue to use their services but will only be booking with Paula from now on :)

The first time I brought my dog to the centre mall location, we had no issue with grooming. The second time we attempted to bring her it has been nothing but problems. Our first appointment was cancelled as the groomer was sick - understandable. When I rebooked with them, they said she could come in on Friday - but did not tell me that it was not the Friday immediately following. After showing up and being turned away, I arrived to the appointment on Friday I had actually been booked for only to hear that the groomer was not in AGAIN. They said everyone had been called, yet I had not received a call. Grooming here is fine, organization sucks. Really disappointing and a huge waste of time.

Plz read especially if u are black! There’s chubby lady who works there who did not want to sell me a bunny cage, she said she doesn’t have to sell me the cage and that I should let my bunny run free in the house I explained to her I have dogs and I need it for when I leave thing dogs out as I can’t lock my dogs up all day for the bunny so I would rotate. She then said she will not sell me it and the MANAger with short sPicky hair started to laugh. So I got a dog cage instead and the bunny slipped out of the cage and my dogs ripped it part. My child is traumatized so thank you for that. It was clearly a race problem , not sure why there is no black peoples working there but thanks

Bad customer service/ very disorganized. Called Friday to book an appointment to get my dogs nails trimmed. The groomer had gone home so the employee took down my phone number and told me they’d call be on Saturday or Tuesday to schedule me an appointment. Never received a call so I followed up on Wednesday and was told they’re doing walk-in only. So I went in, and was turned away. Was told its best to call. So today, I called at 12:20 and was told that I should come at 1:30 (and mentioned I might have to wait 10-15 minutes). I show up, and again they turn me down. Even though I’ve called (and mentioned that to them). Thanks for wasting my time.

This location is smaller but they have all necessary items/products I need for my 2 dogs and 1 cat. Store is always clean and neat. Staff are always super friendly and helpful. If they don't know the answer to a question they will try and figure it out to better assist you. Very knowledgeable staff. They have social distancing measures in place and plexi glass for health/safety due to covid19. They always have great deals on treats and toys. Love that you can now earn and collect points to spend in store as I shop here at least 2 times a month for my animals. You can also bring your pup inside with you which I love!

Jus spoke with associate Chelsea on phone to book our first groom for my puppy. I asked to book a puppy bath and she said oh I don't have anything till next week. I said OK what is avail she said 25. I checked calendar and husband and I both have appointments she gave me 2pm following day. We couldn't make it. Random day times. So I asked what else is avail. She told me I should just go online and book. So thanks petsmart I did go online and found another groomer that has time for us. Especially as first time client. I had questions about process and what all is included. Guess she doesn't care for new clients

I have been going to petsmart over 14 years but since covid they are lacking in their services they state walk in services for nails but now you need to book an appointment well recently every time I book an appointment it gets canceled I took my dogs on today as it was rebooked for 1pm I get there and only to find out that its canceled again this is twice in one week they advertise jobs but they dont hire anyone so I will be looking for a new groomer I will book no more appointments I wasted a whole day and now cant get their nails done and they are so long its terrible no more done

Don’t go here if your dog has anxiety. Even if you book an appointment you have to specifically book for express which they do not tell you until after they give you back your dog saying he’s too stressed. Well yeah my dog gets stressed out by kennels and overwhelmed easily. Maybe you shouldn’t have newer people working on big dogs if it makes them nervous. Not only did you make my dog extremely anxious you couldn’t even fulfill your duties and bathe my dog for a BOOKED appointment. This place is a wreck and absolutely not kind to ALL dogs. Please be weary.

This store is a fever dream. I walked in to 5 employees standing in a circle talking in the middle of the store, and no one asked if I needed help. No, I am not being a "Karen" about this. I walked up to them holding a 40lb box of cat litter and asked if someone could grab me a cart and they just stared at me. It seemed very important that they got back to their conversation about eating dog cookies (). If you're in the area go to the Pet Valu in the Rosedale Plaza instead. Helpful staff, who I can almost promise do not eat dog cookies.

I purchased a water heater for my fish tank(Topfin 150w) just over a month ago and it stopped working today. I tried to return it and was told by an employee at the door the the store is closed and is not accepting returns until this is all over. Well I'm out of work and can't afford another fifty dollar pump and they wouldn't help so I guess I get to watch my fish die.. In a time like this no compassion, what an absolutely heartless company. Do not shop here or at any petsmart. Google seems to think you deserve one star but you don't.

Went to PetSmart this morning, usually a good experience, today not so good, one assistant more interested in talking to her friend than customers I had to ask for her help, felt bad interrupting her. Got a name disc that I wanted took it to checkout and instead of the price I saw on the shelf I was quoted $21 when I said it was marked at $4.99 I was told “oh it’s on the wrong shelf” so apparently all on that shelf were marked wrong. Obviously not really interested in customer service. I left without the disc. Definitely won’t be back

I put in an online order 5 hours later they still have not received it due to back up I got no email that even explains that and gives me a confirmation number to cancel it. When I go back to recent orders nothing comes up for me to cancel. I called the store and they only have 2 bags left but cannot give me one. My card already has been charged. Do not charge my card until my order is ready to pick up. If I go buy one now then I will end up with paying twice for it. So now I sit and hope it gets received soon before they run out.

Staff is always helpful, especially the red head lady (sorry I don't remember her name) is amazing ! When we were having issues with our kitty , poor girl was puking and soiling herself. and thought it might be here food when we came in She was so knowledgeable and pinpointed the problem, she set us up with the perfect brand of cat food that would ease her digestive system. And she also kept out budget in mind, which is more then appreciated . Totally suggest this pet smart over any other pet store .

Fairly good selection of products, although I didn't find the kitty ear cleaning drops I was looking for. They are a little on the expensive side I find and this particular location had low stock on a few shelves but generally a nice array of stuff for your future friend (feathered and fishy friends as well). It's nice you can bring your pets into the store, although I can't say I'll be hauling my 5 cats around shopping with me anytime soon. Store was clean and well kept, staff polite and friendly.

Grooming here was unsatisfactory. After reading reviews saying it was good I did not receive that, very upsetting. In the review it only mentions one groomer who is great, to say the least I did not get her but was expecting the same service. Totally waste of money more so my time and my poor dog who didn't even get everything done that was included in the package. I knew I should have canceled right on the spot when meeting the groomer as my instincts were right. I won't ever go here again.

PetSmart is Spots favourite Place because they know his name and are always so kind. Today was no exception but WOW! I was so happy to see their enthusiasm and generosity. Spot was gifted a yummy bone chew (teeth cleaning) dent-a-stick and an adorable Happy Birthday Bandanna. As Tiffany, the sales associate said, it really was the “ BEST DAY EVER ” Let PetSmart know your pet’s birthdays and they will email you a coupon for $3 off a treat or toy on their birthday.

I come this is location often and receive great service most of time. However, last weekend I was In to buy fish and a young woman with blonde hair was beyond rude to me. She did not welcome me when I approached her for assistance and she tried to refuse selling me fish. After explaining that I have a tank set up and have fish already she begrudgingly started bagging the fish … when I arrived home the bag was half empty and water was all over the seat of my car.

Service was good, but a little bit of sticker shock when I looked at my bill later that day to see that I had paid 17.99 plus tax for a ball. Selection was limited so I picked a nice yellow ball because I was meeting a friend and her dog at a dog park. It looked sturdy and good colour for outside but there was no pricing on the package or the shelf. So buyer beware! If there is no signage or pricing ask before you buy. Now in saying that Maisy did love the ball!

Horrible customer service. Been directed to a groomer 3 times with no call back. Just called to inquire and when asking if there was an easier way to contact the groomer because clearly my information was not getting passed along, I was hung up on. Ridiculous. I am also aware of the online booking system, when trying to book online I was directed to call. Will not be visiting this location again and will be telling friends to seek business elsewhere.

Horrible grooming, a complete waste of money, rest is great. Paid for a bath and nails, nails were just as sharp as when we went there but the lady insisted they had been done. The next groomer (another PetSmart) confirmed they still need to be trimmed and found it hard to believe they had been touched at all. The bath left our dog with horrible dandruff and itchy skin, took multiple baths and a trip to another groomer to get him "back to normal".

Terrible customer service, they take forever to help someone out. One woman there even gave me bad attitude while she was netting a fish for me. Didnt cover up the net and let the fish jump on to the floor and continued to try to serve me the injured fish that fell to the ground. From the second level of tanks... Don't bother going here... It's a small location anyway with little to no selection, go somewhere else for your pet needs.

I took my puppy Charlie today for the first time today and we met an incredible pet care associate named Meagan and not only did she make it easier for me to find a better food for my Charlie boy but she also went above and beyond and bought him a new toy!! Every associate we met were nothing short of awesome!! Thank you again Meagan! This will be our go to PetSmart from now on! Charlie wanted me to say thank you for him too! Lol

This store is very small, they don't care for the beta fish much as I've gone everytime to find dead ones. I've had staff try to tell me opposite as to what my vet recommended. Staff are friendly but they should not be giving out medical advise to any customer as they are not trained. Ive had my dog groomed here and I haven't had a problem. I would recommend checking on the fish more and bringing in more items if possible.

This is the pet form of toys are us. If you bring your pet expect to stay for lengthy periods. The staff is attentive and always stopping to help and share love with your pet. Always stocked shelves and selection available. Offers grooming services. Best thing yet they have a donation program to help other animals. Make sure to ask about the stuffed animals to buy and donate. One stop shop!

It was great.. until the young girl was taking my sword tail (only male there was) out of the tank and she squashed him and was like haha he will be ok... died before we got home... generally I'm very pleased with everything there, but this truly upset me. She should have been like I'm sorry your going to have to wait until we get more, just incase he doesn't make it.. nope just laughed

Great staff! Very friendly & knowledgeable. Went there to inquire about their grooming services & the staff there suggested that we take our dog to the vet to get his nail trimmed due to his age & fear (due to his age) but gave me some helpful suggestions to get our dog prepared for them.. will be taking him there on 4/16/22 for his grooming. Will update when services are done

Went to get dog food on sat and got there around 8:25 pm and the store was closed. I was surprised because I always check the store hours before I go anywhere. I saw a piece of paper taped the door as you can see in the picture. I don’t understand why they couldn’t update the time on Google? Why do I have to drive down and waste gas to find out the store is closed?

Extremely helpful and very kind staff. I was looking for some cat food because my two cats have lots of dandruff and asked for a recommendation for better cat food so I took her advice and do far so good. I was also inquiring about a small fish tank and the gentleman working gave great advice about types of fish and tanks for a Newby to getting fish. Very helpful

Had a very positive experience with Darcy, both over the phone and in person. He was patient and knowledgeable and I am happy with the service I received. Well informed staff. They had just about everything a pet could desire. Lots of parking. No line up. And loyalty points. Both my dog Bear and I enjoyed our visit to Pet Smart the other day. I go out of my way to goto stores that allows dogs inside. Bear sure likes the interaction with the other dogs. When we get off the highway she starts crying whining.

I shop here often for cat food but am impressed by the full line of pet supplies they carry. This isn't the chains largest store but it us well stocked. Service is friendly and helpful. Pet Smart also has an online store that I have used often and they offer free delivery in the area over a certain purchase amount. Great savings during their many sales.

The staff here are all AMAZING. Harley and Quinn walk in like the own the place, and everyone helps make them feel that way. I'm now in another town, but am still going to continue to come to this particular location, just because of the staff! Also awesome grooming department. I took my parent's dog here, and it was the best groom in his12 years!

I get a warm and enthusiastic greeting every time I'm here, and it's great. The staff endeavors to go above and beyond to answer questions and explain the differences between their brands. The store is always clean and well stocked with a large variety of products despite its somewhat small size. I'd recommend this location to anyone in the area.

Great products However I asked for a certain product, the salesperson had given me her opinion, and I went against her advice and placed a specific weight requirement product order. She was confident about her advice and ignored my request. The product wasn't strong enough because she was wrong, thinking I didn't know what I was talking about.

Went there today to pick up some formula for my baby kitten. The lady working there said she did not want to severe me because she doesn't condone the fact that my cat got pregnant? Really so she would rather my kitten die? This is not the job for her.1 it's a pet store 2 she's a worker there. If she has a problem with her job she should quit.

Store is well stocked, clean and staff are so friendly. The dog groomer Hannah is absolutely incredible and patient. I've seen dogs show up scared and timid and Hannah calms them and works will them. Building a trust with dogs is so important and my pup Meatloaf will only see her. I'm happy to have found a permanent groomer in Hamilton.

Brought our 8 month old Cockapoo, Zoe for her first grooming. Danielle was her groomer. I can't say enough about Danielle. She is awesome at her job. Zoe looked amazing, and she was so happy. You can tell she's loves her job and animals. Everytime we pass PetSmart Zoe gets so excited. We have definitely found our groomer.

Decent product selection, prices could be better on certain products. The staff are always friendly and helpful though. I do wish they carried more single ingredient novel protein chews as our dog and many others have allergies/sensitive stomachs (pork, rabbit, kangaroo, etc), but I just go to Global Pet Foods for that.

Had my shih-poo groomed by Holly last week. We are very happy with the results! Benny can be a fussy puppy but he was so happy with Holly (even giving her kisses while she was trimming his face). Not only was she amazing with Benny, she was also very patient and helpful with me. I will definitely be bringing Benny back!

Due to their discrimination towards Bully specific breeds we will not be back for our monthly grooming and toy run. There are many local grooming shops in the area which are very accommodating. Since reviews are not specific to the entire company but individual branches, this review is for the one closest to me.

This is an amazing store with incredible prices. I recently got an aquarium from there and it is amazing and i was highly satisfied with this purchase. The prices at petsmart compared to its competitors is low. I really enjoy how clean the store is, on top of that the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.

We popped in yesterday night in a panic. Our puppy had gotten her first tick ever after a hike and the staff were so helpful in directing us to products to remove the tick and prevent future ones. We just had the most AMAZING experience. We go to Petsmart very often and have never received such incredible customer service at any place like this. Brennan was so polite, helpful and just all around incredible. Not sure what his title is there but he should definitely be promoted haha. He was the BEST.

One of their smaller locations, but more convenient than having to drive up the mountain like I used to. Staff are ok, but I've run into many rude customers which is just annoying. They seem to have trouble keeping things in stock. Otherwise a typical location: lots of ridiculously overpriced junk!

Helpful and informative staff assisted bringing a new kitten into our home. Continued to be helpful through flea and training spells over the course of two years. Good selection for cats but could be better. Wouldn't recommend this store for smaller animals or fish as their selection is limited.

Staff in the isle gave no help at all. When purchasing a new pet it would be helpful for a employee(s) at "PET SMART" to have some knowledge or want to assist you. But I must say the person at the cash was amazing and extremely helpful. So I won't let a couple bad apples spoil the bunch...

Staff were friendly and helpful, I was assisted inifinding the best products for my hamster. There is a wide variety of toys, food, treats and more for small animals. The cage selection is not very good. I wouldn't advise anybody use those cages for a hamster, it's like a prison for them.

I always receive excellent service at this location! I brought my dog in to have her nails clipped and she ended up being too anxious/ scared to have both paws done so they let me come back on a separate day to finish with no extra charge. They truly treat your pet like one of their own!

The young lady I talked to was very friendly and answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable about the products they have. Things are a little on the pricey side, but they have a big enough variety so they still have some cheap alternatives. Good spot for any pet owner's needs.

I bought 100 superworms from here and the next day at least 80 of them we're dead. I gave my savannah monitor 20 the day I bought themand had to go buy more from somewhere else because they were all dead the next day not to mention I paid $16 for a hundred...what a disappointment

Selection for anything that isn't a cat or dog is poor, but staff are always helpful and the store is super clean and well attended to. I'm also pleased by the health of their fish- though do be mindful of keeping an eye on the Bettas( and DO NOT BUY tiny plastic homes for them)

great selection of food and toys. went in looking for a cat tree, ended up buying one online as we couldn't really find what we wanted in the cat tree selection but everything else is great and the employees seemed really nice and eager to assist/give input on food when I asked.

When questioning staff about lack of product, winter covers for my dog, was told that there are other stores in the city I can try. Very rude staff with no knowledge of their products or simple information about pets. Please go to any other store but a pet smart.

We paid 100$to have our dog groomed they didn't even brush her that's what we requested. We won't go bac, my house was covered in hair because they didn't brush her.and then lied and said they did when I told them I was pulling it out by the handful

I recently went into this location to look for hamster supplies. I found that they did have low stock for the small pets but I did find what I was and wasnt looking for. The shelves were organized even if a little bare and the staff were excellent.

I recently got a new puppy and I needed a color and leash for training and the staff there helped me get everything I needed while I held my puppy. I was in and out of the store in less then 10 minutes... great staff at the centre mall pet smart.

I like this spot good selection of food, treats, collars and leashes. Their grooming section gets busy. Friendly staff. They have some selection for reptiles like tanks and heat mats thermometers but they never seem to carry heat cable.

It's a chain, so generally the same, however I've found that this particular location has better, and more thorough grooming than others in Hamilton and Burlington. My dog is always happy to see their staff, so that says a lot.

Store is at good corner location and it has many parking places next to it. Staff was very helpful during my visit. They also offer engraving services on the metal paw. I would love to visit them again it I have pet in future.

Very helpful..but the item I bought my dog can not get the treats out..they are way to hard. I tried breaking them up with a knive and I can't even get the treat to chip away. Disappointed. But service was nice and helpful.

I have been taking my Dog to Dani for years ( 4 years to be exact) to get groomed... my dog doesn't act afraid or timid around Dani. Everywhere else i have ever taking her she screams murder!! I highly recommend Dani

Really nice place. Centre mall. Looked after quickly. The groomer holly is wonderful with my little valentine. Pet smart does need a better selection of clothes for dogs. See u again next month.

Not a great place for dog toys ( shelves were almost bare ) and dog treats ( not many natural options. All seem to have additives ). Staff was friendly. But that was about the only positive.

Paige gave Luna her first ever Puppy Bath & Brush at 10 weeks old. She’s great with Luna and is very knowledgeable. Luna loves visiting for her grooming. Highly recommended.
