I have purchased a chicken bone broth online for my cat. It was supposed to be delivered same day by DoorDash. I didn’t get it that day. The next day I called the store and they said it will be delivered soon. 2 days later, when I still didn’t receive my order, I called the store again. They informed me that door dash has lost my item! The person who received it apparently called them but they won’t give me his information for privacy matters. They told me that they can’t do anything about it, that I should call DoorDash. I called DoorDash and explain the situation. They looked up the order number and told me that only the store can claim for a refund since they were the client. She also mentioned that only Ren’s Pet has my payment information and they are the one’s who should be refunding me. The rep even spoke to the store manager and explained her the situation. The store manager tells me to call their head office for resolution. Next day I called the head office and left a massage. They returned my call and told me to call DoorDash! I explained them the whole thing again. They said they will get back to me. Well they didn’t. I called them again, and this time the person tells me that he will let the store know. It’s been two weeks now and I haven’t heard back anything from the store yet. So basically I was charged for an item that never got to me. And the store denies any responsibilities. Aww full customer service experience. I will never ever shop there again.

So I decided to order “locally” instead of going to petsmart as I was out of my dogs dental chews. I usually order from pet value (they take my order and promptly packaged for me to pick up) but since I was already in the neighbourhood and going to healthy planet next door I thought I should order for here instead. I ordered online and thought that my order would be ready by the time I finished going to healthy planet. When I finished I called in to see if my 2 dental treat bags were ready and the lady mentioned if I had received a pick up notification and I said I had orders approximately 20 minutes ago. The lady immediately said that orders can take up to 24 hours and that they have many customers in line waiting for their orders. When I clarified that I though they were as prompt as pet value and that I was already parked outside she went ahead and mention that they have “many customers orders.” I left quite upset but didn’t pick up a fight. I went to Tim’s next door to get a coffee and literally as I’m waiting in the drive through I get an email saying my order was ready for pick up. Literally 10 mins after calling in and asking them if they could just kindly skip my order in queue and they said no. Oh boy did I want to smack the lady in the face with my two bag treats, but whatever. I picked my order up and not one word was mentioned about them emailing me 10 mins after I left. Terrible disappointing service. It doesn’t take much to be kind.

I am not one to usually bother complaining about a shopping experience but this one really rubbed me the wrong way. I had a voucher from a manufacturer, which is as good as cash to the retailer. Was told I could not use it for any items on sale because "additional coupons" were not permitted and that if they let me use coupons on sale items I would barely be paying anything out of pocket. Not sure why the retailer would care whether they get paid out of customers' pockets or by manufacturers if they are getting their money either way. Anyway, it was cheaper to go to another store and use my vouchers there rather than pay the sale price at Ren's. On top of that the sales associates were a bit snarky when I politely tried to plead my case. So overall, a bad experience.

Good knowledgeable staff and great selection at a reasonable and fair price for my Oster A5/A6 trimmer blades! After 15 years I finally put my $249 two speed Golden A5 trimmer out to pasture (still works great) and got a far better deal in 2019! The newer, quiter, less vibration 3-speed A6 unit for our baby girl Cockapoo at $179!,.... Works great with the right blade and even accepts the far less expensive Wahl add-on SS blades! So the #10 blade is perfect with the add-ons for most cuts. Bonus all around, hoping the quality/durability is as good as the first generation... Highly recommended if you wish to save a bundle and trim your own pooch, and remember, it's not your head and will grow back... So experiment

I love Ren’s Pets! The staff at the meadowlands location are incredibly helpful and kind. We visited and discovered that our dogs favourite treat was being phased out so we bought as much as we could find. The next time we stopped in on in, one of the wonderful women who works there had actually found some more of the treats and set them aside for us when we came in next, just in case we wanted them. This level of thoughtfulness is rare and the team there is just delightful. They remember my dogs name and greet her with enthusiasm every time we go in. 100% our favourite pet store ever.

The staff here are so friendly! I bring my little guy in with me as much as I can and they remember him every time and welcome him with belly rubs. They set themselves apart from other pet stores because they focus on their selection of natural treats and food and also have more options of collars, harnesses and winter wear. They even carry Canada Pooch at times and if you know this brand, they're high quality and durable. Their staff have a great basis of dog nutrition and supplements, especially when I was looking for raw food options and supplementation.

Today ,Wed,June 23, i arrived at the Ancaster location a few minutes before 7 pm. The store was already closed. I called the store phone number and whoever was working this evening answered. I explained that i had arrived a few minutes before 7 pm and i had found the store already closed .I asked if it would have been okay for me to still pick up my order. Her answer was very rude! Told me that i was wrong and i hadn't got there before 7 pm and that she would not give me my order.I have never experienced such rudeness at this location!

The store is nicely organized with a very practical layout of supplies. I frequent this location staff are very friendly and willing to go beyond regular duties to assist customers. Only suggestion I would have is different labeling system for discounted items. Discounted stickers are often over looked and as a customer you could miss out on 25%-50% as has almost happened to me multiple times. Overall I would still recommend this location for your pet needs just check your receipt to make sure appropriate discounts were applied.

Fiona at this location was extremely helpful for my diabetic cat and he’s good preferences. She was extremely knowledgeable on what they should consume, the amount of each ingredient in a variety of products, and how much they should be given per day. It was almost like being at the vet with the amount of knowledge she had, it put me at ease and was very helpful. She was super kind and ended up providing me with a sample to try! Really recommend shopping here!!!!!

I made an order online and I stupidly chose another store for the order, without realizing. Naturally, I head over to ren's when my notification came that the order is ready. Only after I call them for curbside pickup that I learn of my mistake. Frustrated and panicking at this point, and I think the staff member heard it in my voice because she offered to fulfill my order at this store and cancel the other one for me. How freaking nice is that?

Great place to go if you are pet owner. They have everything that you need for your pet. Frendly and helpful staff members and I would definitely recommend to visit and shop in that store. Prices are pretty reasonable and they have lots of sales at least once a month . See for yourself and l hope that you are going to have the same experience as me.I'm going to continue to shop in that store as long as the prices are right.

Just bought a puppy and had so many concerns and questions because of the breed. As soon as I got to rens all the staff was extremely friendly. Niki help me and took the time to explain everything I needed from food, leashes and even training. She was really patient and made sure I was comfortable with everything leaving the store— even helped me take the stuff to the car. Great store will be back forsure.

This place is beyond amazing, their not just in it for the money these people actually love the animals and care about the people, sales are phenomenal, heck regular prices are phenomenal. If you're looking for an assortment of products as well as an assortment of brands for your pup pup or kitty cat then this is your LITERAL one stop shop! Best. Store. Ever. Did I mention this place is phenomenal?

Rens Pet in Ancaster is amazing! All of the employees are great. One employee that comes to mind is Fiona - Fiona has helped us through our dogs sensitive stomach issues and always provides great recommendations that work for our dogs needs. There are lots of pet food stores around the Hamilton / Ancaster area but I can assure you Rens Pets is by far the best choice you can make! Joe & Dog Teddy

Not much to say. I got a fancy colar and leash for my dog to go to a fancy hotel. (Was just for fun) but the selection was remarkably small. Nonetheless it wasn't too expensive and the ladies were very kind and helpful and didn't harass about masks not being exactly in place like the genetically weak and mentally deficient typically do. I'd go back just to support good people. Cheers

My brother just called the store asking for an alternative to a dog bone that our dog absolutely adores. The girl on the phone started laughing and was unresponsive to his questions. EXTREMELY unprofessional, and we still have yet to find an alternative for our pup. Definitely will not be supporting a store that laughs at our questions. Very rude.

I don’t go to this Rens in the summer as their air conditioner is always broken. I actually travel to a different Rens during the summer because the Ancaster store is so hot and uncomfortable! I love the staff at this location and feel sorry for them working in these conditions! For the love of employees and animals fix the air conditioner!!!

What a wonderful experience. I was welcomed when I arrived by 2 friendly employees, I have a mask exemption and was happy see they honour mask exemptions, I choose not to shop where this is not respected. The service was also very friendly, the sales girl took me right over to what I was looking for, I would recommend this location to all.

I just wanted to say thank you to the two ladies that were working at 1:00 pm on Jan 12 2021! I misunderstood the instructions for curbside pickup and came way too early. They still got my order ready for me and were incredibly pleasant to deal with! I'm going to be getting all my dog supplies from this location. Definitely recommended

I love that this is a Canadian company. They have competitive pricing even with online retailers. They have a 'healthier' line up of food brands e.g. Merrick or Acana. Good return policy on toys and a rebate system that gives you lots of free things. Convenient location and good hours even around holidays. Bring your pet!

The female cashier with long dark hair who helped me was super friendly and amazingly helpful. Just at that moment when you needed help looking for an extra item on your shopping list she was there to help. Once she saw my arms full, she offered to get me a basket. Very hard to find helpful staff like her nowadays.

Hayley was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I really enjoyed talking to her about changing over my pet's diet to a raw food meal plan. Thanks to her, my dog's allergies have completely cleared up! I would definitely recommend this location and Hayley's recommendations. 10/10 for customer service!!

Extremely helpful staff and great selection. The women working today were so helpful with finding my dog the perfect coat that will give her sufficient protection. I love Ren's, the staff are always helpful, friendly and professional. Always willing to go the 'extra mile' for their customers. Their rewards program is very good and the nice thing there's no plastic card points card to try and keep track of, it's all done on their computers using your phone#.

I'm sure that Ren's Pets is a quality store with great staff but it is interesting that when I had a very bad online experience and tried to post the review with Ren's Pets that was honest and informative they declined to post it. Won't be ordering online with them any time soon...too bad

This REN’s has lots of stock, but the staff isn’t very knowledgeable, the last few times we’ve been there we have had questions and no one could answer them. They’re super kind and we will continue to give them a chance. Just food for thought if you have questions you need answered.

The selection of products is very good. I went in to look for a new cat tree and ended spending more than 30 minutes trying to compare them all lol the staff were very helpful and informed me of an upcoming sale that might help my decision on which tree to get.

Ren's has a good selection of foods, toys, and accessories for your family friend. One great thing is their pet food discount program where you buy 10 or so bags and get one free. They keep your info on file so you don't have to save receipts.

Clean and well stocked. Friendly staff and convenient parking. Although the selection of canned wet food for dogs is somewhat limited they do have an extensive range of raw food options. I also really like the choices of accessories.

This store has repeatedly made large donations to food banks I personaly have picked up more than 800 lbs of food that i delivered to Neighbour 2 Neighbour Care mongouring Hamilton And others. The owner and staff truly care.

Great selection of pet products. I found the harness and leash required for my cat here that I couldn't find in some other pet stores. Prices are somewhat high but overall worth a visit for their wide selection of products.

REN’s and this location specifically is such a wonderful store. They donate to fosters and people who adopt through animal rescues. The staff is amazing and patient with new pups who are still a little scared of new people.

Nice staff. A great selection of premade frozen raw food. A lot of great natural dog chews that I haven't seen around anywhere else. I have 2 chiuhauhas and 6 cats. I can always find what I need there.

Staff was not even interested in asking me if I needed help finding something. It was not very busy, they just stood and chatted with each other. So I went to Pet Smart and had much better service.

Of all the Rens, this is the only one we have problems at. They are slow in filling orders and apparently dont know how to use their own computer system. This was our last visit to this one.
