I LIKE BIKEWORKS!!.. I like biking on all the New Mexico trails with my dogs l even use my bike to commute to and from work when weather permits. One day I few blocks away from my house I got a flat tire. It checked several places online and they were not open yet. Thankfully Bikeworks opens at 9:00AM, when I called I asked if they had the size tube I needed and they did, so I took my bike on my SUV. They were busy with many clients looking at the many bikes for sale, buying Parts, getting their bikes Service, buying accessories, buying helmets, and shopping for everything around the store. They had enough coverage there was no wait in line for checkout and for being assisted. I was surprise since the new location they moved to is kind of hidden. I used my google maps navigation on the phone to get there...They must be doing something right and that is why they have many clients! I was having trouble installing it. They even installed it for free. I RECOMEND YOU TO GO TO BIKEWORKS WHENEVER YOU NEED ANYTHING REGARDING BICYLES . THANK YOU. BE SAFE RIDING OUT THERE FRIENDS!

I had a great buying experience at Bikeworks ABQ today. I had done a ton of research on "Gravel" bikes and wanted a Giant branded bike. I had never been to Bikeworks but saw that they were a Giant "shop". I'm glad I know them now. I met "the younger" Dan (co-owner) when I walked in. He patiently listened to my "biking needs" and from there it was a great experience. He was super knowledgeable of the gravel bikes in his shop and pointed me to the one I had heavily researched. He told me everything and more than I had already learned via my research and I feel he set me up with the perfect bike. A Giant Revolt Advanced Pro 0!!! He covered all the bases and more. I walked out feeling and knowing that I got a TON of value from Dan and his team. I'm glad I met their team of employees and learned that they are high end very experienced mechanics. I'll be taking my 3 bikes to them for now on for continued maintenance and upgrades. Thank you Dan for making my day!!!

I recently re-entered into the MTB world after having been on the road for many years. Wanted a change and some cross-training. I was referred by a good friend of mine who uses them on a regular basis. Mountain biking and the equipment choices have exploded so I needed a good source that would help me make the right decisions regarding bike and equipment choices. I found it right here. From the first time I talked to Vince and subsequently the Dannys, the experience has been phenomenal. I settled on a Rocky Mountain Pipeline after having tried out several other bikes. Dan L. was incredibly patient in getting the build just right as we stripped the Pipeline down to the frame and built it custom from there. The DannyBuilt wheels with Chris King hubs have been indestructible. Now, the hardest decision I have is whether to ride the Pipeline or my Wilier. Thanks Bikeworks for adding to the confusion - ha ha! Great shop, great group of people. Just go there.

I came here to get my Kona fixed and they said that the bike would be ready to be picked up on a Monday (the day I brought the bike in was the previous Friday), and I called them on Monday and they said it wasn't done BUT they had a bike just in that they thought I might want to take a look at before they installed the parts. I just wished that they would have called and update me, but that's okay. The bike I got is very nice (and I crashed it two times in two days). Some other bike shops have been good also, but Bike Works is a smaller business with less staff, so expect to wait for service. Overall, the shop has been good to me and I plan on purchasing my next bike their so maybe they will get bigger and expand to the building open next to it! Hint, Hint... :D

I recently bought my first high end bike from them. The guys worked with me on the price and were super friendly. I had read a previous review saying that they are all bike snobs. I couldn't disagree more. The guys there definitely know their stuff and were very willing to educate me, but at no time did I feel they were being snobby about it. I actually ended up paying a bit more for the bike than one I found online but it was worth it for me to support such a great local shop. They even stayed close to an hour after closing time making sure I knew how to adjust the suspension on my new bike. Bottom line, the customer service is superb. The only negative would be the small size of the shop and small selection of bike accessories/gear.

  • John Wilkes

Geaux to BikeWorks :) Short: friendly trustworthy experts. Middle: top notch technical service/help, great locally owned bike shop, and excellent customer service. Long: Very generous with their time and expertise. Always willing to educate and help any customer that walks through the door—no matter how small the issue/repair. I’ve witnessed the BWABQ staff help customers without charge, including myself. They’ve created a laid back environment that is fun to hang out for laughs, a drink, and/or maybe learn something. They’ve never tried to up sell or hard sell / pressure me into anything, and they’ve given me discounts many times. Hanging out with the guys at BikeWorks is one of my favorite social activities in Albuquerque.

I have been a customer at Bikeworks for many years on the recommendation of my son who was racing in ABQ at the time. We have nothing but great things to say about the shop and the quality of work. My wife and I have ridden many thousands of miles on several tandems and have broken more than a few spokes. Dan the wheel man has rebuilt several wheels for us and always had a great experience and quality work. Also had wheels built for riding the Great Divide route the past couple of years. Last fall I was in the market for a new mountain bike and I ended up buying a Rocky Mountain Instinct BC from Bikeworks and got what I think was a great deal. HIGHLY recommend this shop!

  • Scott Yelton

I read all of the very mixed reviews before my visit, and everyone is right. If you have the discretionary cash to pay for overpriced goods and services, then yes. They are welcoming, knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. But being the objective type person I am, if you want your bike fixed correctly the first time you probably couldn't save money going anywhere else. But if you're a person with little to no discretionary cash and just wanted an inner tube to get back on the road you have to wonder why they charge about 3 times more than Wal-Mart for a tube nearly identical. I just happened to wonder it out loud, then I pushed my bike to Wal-mart.

  • Shawn Arterburn

I honestly believe this to be the best bike shop in NM. This is the type of bike shop you read about in magazines or online. All the guys who work here are amazing bike mechanics - heck I know one of the owners used to work for a suspension company and has a degree in mechanical engineering. You'll see shop dogs hanging out as well as loyal customers, they can fix you a cup of coffee or sometimes grab you a beer, they're passionate about their work (sometimes they have to change their hours so they can race), and they'll fight for you working with component or bike brands to get you deals on products and repairs. I guarantee they'll never let you down.

  • Rosalind Whitley

Really like this bike shop! I like riding but don't know much about bikes/can't be bothered to not suck at bike maintenance. They don't make me feel stupid and help get me safely on the road. Plenty of cool gear and bikes in their new shop, including this really cute heavy duty front basket I had them put on my city bike. Have been to a couple of their mountain bike demos and that's a blast as you get to try out fancy bikes in the foothills. Oh yeah, and bonus, they have a little espresso bar with good coffee, and always seem to have stuff to munch on. Yeah, I really like this bike shop : )

  • Viladeth Philavong

Great customer service. I went in just to look around and talked to a worker about a problem I was having with my fork. She had a mechanic come speak to me about the issue. They communicated what the problem was and all the solutions. I told them what my price range was and they found a solution for me. I brought my bike in the same day and an hour later I walked out with my bike feeling better than new. The staff were very friendly and professional. I felt they went above and beyond. Would 10/10 recommend

  • Kelly grossetete

I love this shop!!! I drive 3 hours one way when I need work done on my Yeti Mountain bike. I’ve been using Bikeworks for my bike repairs for many years. I’ve never been disappointed. They often can get my bike in and out in one day, even when major parts have to be replaced. They are friendly, honest, excellent mechanic, they pay attention to details and get the job done right and fast. Labor and parts prices are more than fair. I would highly recommend this shop and I would not go anywhere else.

  • Gregor

I was struggling to adjust my own brake pads and I thought that the problem was that I needed a different set of pads ... but the techs at Bikeworks told me that the pads that I already had would work and they explained how to tweak the breaking system to make it work. They could have sold me something that I didn't need but instead they helped me learn how to take care of my own bike. I'll be going there anytime I need parts tools or lubes ... and if there's something I can't fix myself.

  • rich borncamp

Bike Works converted my tires to tubeless. They got the job done quickly so I wouldn’t have to make another long drive. While I was in their store, I talked to several workers. Everyone friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. They have mechanics that know the most complex bike systems. They check online materials to confirm they are correct before proceeding. These guys know their stuff. I’ve found a shop to service what I can’t.

  • Peter Jarmosevich

What a bike shop should be; After years of searching for a good bike shop my search is over. These guys are great mechanics, talented, honest, and just nice people. They have gone out of their way to find and order me the bike and parts that i need. Follow up service is awesome and they really do care about what they sold you, even if it was a year ago... The espresso machine in the front is a nice touch too!

  • Buck Glanz

I bought a mountain bike from Bikeworks in 2017. It was a great experience and I've been going back ever since. The work is rock solid. Everyone is friendly. The staff is super knowledgeable and they are never going to bs you. Every 10 months or so I bring my bike in bleeding and needing tlc. They always deliver. I will definitely buy my next bike there too. You can't go wrong with Bikeworks.

  • Carlos Salazar

I came into the shop with an issue caused by Sports Systems bike shop . Which I never recommend their bike shop . AbqBike works took immediate ownership of my problem and were great on repairing my bike and also improving it current condition . Employees are friendly and personable ! Abq Bike shop is now my go to and will forever be because of their commitment to the customers ! Such a joy

  • Mathew Morrow

This is my go-to bike shop in Albuquerque. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They've saved my butt multiple times, getting me back on the trail as soon as they could when I had repairs I wasn't able to do myself. Their prices for parts are just as good as the internet as well, which makes it a brainer to be the first place you stop when you need something for your bike.

  • jay James

Drop in to get a part I couldn't find at walmart nor target and they fix me right up. They even put on the part and didn't charge me, also check a problem I was having with my gears and made a small adjustment, again didn't charge me. I left happy with the service; will return for any repairs, parts, or service I will need in the future and I highly recommend you do the same.

  • Savannah S

We went to this bike shop with my grandpa to get his tricycle fixed, he’s 79 years old and uses it daily for exercise. On his ride this morning, he got a flat tire and he needed new brakes. We went to this store and the employee fixed it in like 30 minutes. My grandpa is really happy that he was able to get his bike fixed so quick and for pretty cheap. Thank you bikeworks! :)

  • Sharon Rahochik

While cycling for our first time in Albuquerque my husband had 3 flats in one day. We realized that the tires were probably in need of replacement. Bikeworks to the rescue! We called the next day and they had several good tires to choose from. They even adjusted his brake wire . In 20 min we were ready to get a rise in for the day. I would highly recommend this shop!

  • Aislinn J Handley

I'm an absolute beginner and brought in my bike to get help with new tubes/tires. Not only were they friendly and patient, but they also talked me through the process and helped me learn a lot more about the products I was using and the process to change them on my own! Absolutely wonderful. I can't recommend this place enough.

  • Natalie Olson

Dan is super knowledgeable & helpful, a very personable guy. He helped me pick out a bicycle after asking him dozens of questions, some of which were probably non traditional, and eased my mind on purchasing a new bicycle after riding my very first road bike for over ten years. I look forward to having a new bike shop!

  • Teri Genteman

We came to Albuquerque for the Balloon Feista with our electric bikes this year. Ended up with a flat tire and a little repair needed on one of the lights .We we're So Impressed with this company! Service, price, knowledge and willingness to help!! Thanks so much for helping us enjoy our time in Albuquerque.

  • Richard Barnett

I would like to apologize for intruding on your little bro-fest the other day. It wasn't my intention to be the only customer in the shop and then to irritate you by asking for help and then to further ire you by actually make a purchase! This has happened before (several times), but won't happen again!

  • M Baca

Cool store, with a good selection of products. It seemed like this is a very “Clicky” group though. I had the intention of buying some bars and a stem. I may as well have been a ghost in there. It didn’t seem like I was even noticed the whole time I was there. Probably won’t be going back.

  • Marsha Sabol

After driving 75 miles to have my bike repaired--and calling to see if it could be fixed--I was told that they couldn't get any parts until 2022! They could have told me that on the phone, but once they saw my low end bicycle, I guess they weren't interested in helping me.

  • Cory Johnson

I was looking for a full suspension mountain bike. When I asked if the shop carried any demo bikes the sales associate offered me to demo the bike off the show room floor. Makes me wonder why pay full price for a bike that could have been demoed who knows how many times.

  • Kyle Yegerstrom

Stop looking you found your local mountain bike shop. I've been to other local shops and their customer service just kind of sucked. I've been using this bike shop for about 7 months and have been very happy. This is the go to shop for the local mountain bike community.

  • Anthony Baldassari

Came in from Colorado to meet a friend to ride. Snapped my duerailer hanger on my first ride. Came in and Wes had a new one on in 10 minutes! Guy is a machine. Worked hard and did us right. I highly recommend this store for any local or out of town riders! Thanks Wes!

  • Olaf Kula

Im a Handcyclist and this are trickier machines. Mike and his crew have helped me out and gone the extra mile every time I stop by. Not so many road bikes but there is not much they can’t fix for a reasonable price, on time, with great service and an espresso machine.

  • Persie Mitchell

Quincy was awesome. I was super nervous about buying my first mountain bike in over a decade. He explained everytime and answered all our questions. When we told him our budget, he didn't try to oversell us. And he was fun to talk to and just overall a great dude.

  • Nicole Mexico

Great experience here! Super nice, helpful, knowledgeable staff. This is based on a purchase ,however, right off the bat offered to give tips and info on anything we’d need help with. Have quite a good and strong feeling about going back for continued service!

  • Ignatz Borowski

Yet another Albuquerque bike shop full of bike snobs, hoping to sell to other bike snobs. Terrible, overpriced service, expensive parts, and you might just have to bring your bike to be serviced several time for the same repair - and expect to pay each time.

  • Andrew Kreps

I've been in the shop several times, and the staff have never failed to be welcoming and they embrace my questions with interest. They're the most knowledgable bike folks I know, and this shop is always my first stop when I need something with two wheels.

  • Stuart Bible

Above and beyond the call of duty. Fixed my derailleur issues with same day service whilst we were doing the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. Great price and great service. I wish this was my local bike shop. Top work fellas 5 stars …

  • George Valliant

Bikeworks is Great! They fixed the dropper seat post on my wife's ebike super-fast putting a massive smile on my face in-time for another weekend of shredding. They are extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and very friendly. Highly recommend! A+++

  • Michael Zink

Broke a couple spokes and these folks were able to fix the wheel about a day. There were a couple other bike shops that quoted anywhere from a week to 12 days. Same price. Glad I checked on this place. Think I'll take some more business their way!

  • Chris Russell

Shop has a hangout "have coffee, trade adventures" vibe with a fantastic team. They are very knowledgeable in bikes, gear, trails, roads, and local rides. Whether you're looking for a dream build or to cobble a rat rod, go check them out.

  • PATRICK RICH

I wanted to follow up and share some more amazing customer service from the crew at BW's. I just purchased my 3rd bike from them. I cannot put into words how great the customer service is. The latest bike isn't even a high end bike, but

I have owned a mountain bike now for 6 weeks and have already taken it to Bikeworks three times for a wide variety of services. The first was cable adjustments on my brand new bike, done in a timely manner so I could get out riding the

  • linda Graham

I had not owned a bike in some time so after finding my two previous go to bike shops were no longer around I gave this one a try and was so happy with the great service I brought my neice and nephews bike also.Fair prices also.

  • Jerome Rogich

Used them after hearing good things about this shop from a friend. I dropped a bike off to have shipped. They did an amazing and professional job at a reasonable price and the bike arrived across the country in perfect shape.

  • Nicolas Urzetta

Staff was very professional and friendly. I had tires replaced and one of the technicians noticed a vibration in the steering. He promptly detected the problem and fixed it at no additional charge. Very impressive!

  • bobby egan

If you’re looking for that neighborhood bike shop, look no further. This is exactly the type of place I’ve been trying to find since I moved here. Great, helpful and very knowledgeable staff. Couldn’t be happier.

  • John P

The pricing on labor will keep me from coming back (same service at a large shop in CO, 30% less). They do good work, but don't really have anything to offer that is unique or extraordinary customer service.

  • Thisbe Scholfield-johnson

Incredible, knowledgeable staff!! They gave me a bike box for shipping my bike and a screw I had lost on a long trip for free!:) They also have a very cute, well-behaved dog on-site. 10/10 great experience!

  • Byron Prestridge

Walk in. 3 people look up and say absolutely nothing. Walk around for 3 minutes, nothing. Walk up to the counter to purchase something- 2 people behind the desk and still waiting…nope, don’t waste your time

  • steve sass

Went in for a tube replacement and the lady upsold me to get a new tire too. The new tire was too big and I had to have them order a new tire. The newest tire still seems too big but is at least rideable.

  • David Gallegos

Took in my bike with a broken swing arm picked it up with a broken fork! Must've been one hell of a test ride!! Although for 100 or so dollars they'd be more than happy to look at it. Ha! Beautiful!!!

Overdue 5 star review from me. After assorted experiences with dishonest bike shops in Abq I now ONLY take my bikes here! Good work, reasonable turnaround times and they are honest about pricing.

  • John Lomasney

I used to like the small shop feel of this place. I have not had good recent experiences though. Sports systems and high desert have done better work with more pleasant service in the past year.

  • Joan Raner

I needed my brakes rewired, and my bike checked for roadworthiness. Dan took time out of his busy day to help me with that and saw that everything was set up correctly. Thank you very much!
