Being semi-retired my wife and I have been thinking about fun ways to stay in shape. Decades ago we had some mountain bikes and they were fun but a little too physically challenging for us these days. We have been thinking about eBikes for some time but not seriously until now. We visited other bike shops in town but were most impressed with Free To Roam eBiking. They are obviously a small business but, unlike other places we visited, their focus is on eBikes and the eBiking community. They have a wider selection of eBike models than the other places we visited. Comparing prices we noticed that others in town carried some of the same models but at higher prices. When we entered the establishment, Zach was there to greet us. We couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable consultant to help us understand eBiking and help us pick the best models for our particular characteristics. He took his time to get to know us and explain the basic concepts of eBikes and the various technologies involved. I think much of his knowledge is based on the fact that he services a wide variety of eBikes and other electric personal transportation devices (I don't know what they are called but they are not eBikes). We are very happy with our purchase and know that Free To Roam eBiking will be there to provide any service that we might need.

My wife and I rented a couple of these e-bikes as a little anniversary gift, and went for a ride of almost 30 miles down to the bosque, north and back up through Old Town. If you haven't tried these bikes, you should! We're both frequent/daily riders but have always wanted to extend our range. My wife was a little ambivalent because she rides for the exercise - but have no doubt, you're going to get your exercise. You're just going to go faster and whiz up hills and go farther than you ever could. Sue and Ginger made the rental and fitting process a snap. Parking at their shop is safe off the street, so we had no worries about leaving our car there for a few hours. And starting the ride near Nob Hill was great - we jumped right onto our usual routes but covered twice the ground. We got the most basic bikes, single-speed hybrid-type units, and never missed the gears (did I mention we rode back up the long hill from the bosque?). We want to join them on one of their group rides like the coming Elena Gallegos tour. Now I really, really want an e-bike. They're expensive - but these guys also let you LEASE them. This could get addictive really fast. ;)

This business operator hates men. This business does not share a friendly vibe at all. Also their rental rates are a SERIOUS rip off. Not worth the Balloon Fiesta hassle. Much of a waste of time and energy when it comes to safety and a quick repair. Do not refer experienced bike mechanics to this business!!This poser of a business owner has no tolerance for a safety minded bike technician and ONLY has profit in mind over safety. Please keep in mind when riding bikes towards the balloon fiesta at 5am, traffic is chaotic, tourists from ALL OVER THE WORLD AS WELL AS LOCALS are on the road during Balloon Fiesta and Free To Ride ownership has EXTREMELY LIMITED experience/TIME operating during Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Operations. PLEASE KEEP PERSONAL SAFETY IN MIND!!!!! IE..You will be exposed to road traffic in dark light conditions while Free To Roam Ownership employs CHEAP CHINESE MADE BATTERY OPERATED L.E.D> bike lights to illuminate your presence. Basic review in POINT... PROFIT OVER TRUE SAFETY. You will be safer riding in your personal crew than paying this ill advised greedy E Bike Snake Oil Salesman. YOU HAVE BEEN WELL WARNED.

What a FABULOUS experience! We did the e-bike tour of Balloon Fiesta so that my visiting sister and niece could enjoy the Fiesta without dealing with traffic (and without a strenuous bike ride from our house). I was SO impressed with the whole experience. Communication and instructions before the event were very helpful. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly and helpful folks who got us set up on the bikes. Great instruction was given on how to use the bikes, and then we rode in a group to the park. Someone led the way, and someone followed up the rear to make sure none of us got lost. We also liked that we could just head back whenever we wanted and didn't have to ride back in a group or wait around to leave. Not gonna lie, I think my niece and sister enjoyed riding the e-bikes even MORE than they enjoyed seeing the balloons! That's how much fun they had! Really wonderful experience and extremely well run business. I look forward to renting with them again!

Booked (2) 2 hour rides for Saturday April 16, 2022. Got a confirmation text. Showed up to the meetup location and nobody was there. Owner contacted me an hour after the start of the ride once I was already there and said she would refund me. I guess they closed for the weekend due to Easter and didn't close their online booking. Okay, whatever mistakes happen. I was visiting from out of state for only that weekend so was pretty bummed since it was now too late to find somewhere else to get a bike from. Never received my $85 refund. Called and left a voicemail a few days later. A week after I left a voicemail still no refund. Terrible customer service. Website has a chat feature that doesn't work. I already wasted $30 getting a ride there and back, now they won't even refund me for their mistake. What do I have to do to get a refund?!

YES! Just. Yes. I bought a Rad Power Bike RadRunner2 and this shop assembled it and walked me though the safety and use of the bike. Such a wonderful experience. You can tell that this business is a passion and that love and care is put into their work. I had a great time going over everything and talking with them about my bike, and e-bikes in general. Plus, riding my bike home for the first time put such a huge smile on my face. I had this feeling that this new bike is going to be mine for a very long time. The bike and I have bonded, and this shop played a huge part in that experience. I recommend the tire protection upgrades they offer. Ask the store about it. It's a must have. Hats off you to you folks, you made my week!

Flew in from out of state to go camping in the Cibola National Forest and wanted something that could handle the rough terrain so I can make the most my time and the area. The bike they set me up exceeded my expectations despite only having front suspension. That beast helped me conquer tough rocky uphills and flew down mountain sides with ease. It handled very well and felt closer to a dirt bike than a mountain bike with the 3” tires plowing through dodgy areas. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I rented an extra battery but was able to get 2-1/2 solid days of use out of the first battery. Pick up and drop off was great! Highly recommend giving e-bikes and Free-to-Roam a try!

I purchased my first eBike today from Free-to-Roam, what a positively wonderful experience! Susan was very knowledgeable and adept at selecting the bike that perfectly fits my needs (and more). She took the time in making sure that I had all the information I needed as a first-time eBike owner, and assisted me through the whole process. The staff are awesome too, and she introduced me to the biking community here in Albuquerque!! I'm truly grateful to Susan for her expertise and kindness!! Scooter

Had a fantastically fun e-bike tour with this group! Awesome staff, bikes in perfect order, and a lovely experience all around. The e-bike was a breeze to operate and you can really modify your ride to whatever you need or want. Electric assist is great on hills, and it feels close to like a conventional bike if you prefer that without assist. It was hot but we went farther and faster than we ever would have on regular bikes. I consider myself a convert. Great fun!

What a fun experience on these e-bikes! Zack was most helpful and gave us clear, easy instructions - this was our first time on e-bikes. This picture of the bike path was uphill all the way and we might not have done it but, Free-to-Roam, we did it with ease! A map with bike-friendly roads was also helpful. We now hope to be owners soon! We had a concern with a warm sunny day but there was always a breeze as we cruised‍♀️ Thank you

First time Ebike rider here!! I had such a great time! I was scared at first and not very confident in myself, but Lyssa picked up on that so fast and did a whole morning of teaching me how to own my space, not be afraid of other people riding around me, and was very encouraging through the whole process! Also, my baby had his first Ebike ride as well and did so great! We’ll be coming back very soon :)

Really friendly staff. They were able to even do a small bicycle repair for me, even though it wasn’t an e-bike (the other bike shop was closed). I called ahead to see whether they had that inner tube - Zach was as amazingly helpful and kind, especially when it turned out that I had misdiagnosed my own issue!! Really great folks. Saw some people taking test rides of e-bikes to buy, great service.

My husband and I rented e-bikes from free to roam. Susan was absolutely wonderful, informative about how to use the bikes, and even showed up at an off time to allow us to rent them. We were extremely appreciative for her help so we could go for an early morning ride. The bikes were in top notch working condition and came fully charged. Eventually we want to buy e-bikes and will return here!

I retired from sitting at a computer too long a few years ago. I had my first bike ride in 20 some years and first ebike ever over the weekend. It was seriously fun. I just rode the Bosque Trail and plan to ride more soon. Susan at Free to Roam eBiking made it all very simple to set up and start to ride.

Took my 80 year old dad for an early morning ride on the Bosque Trail. Sue and her gang were very patient in explaining the E bike and ensuring a safe ride. We road for about an hour and my dad felt like he was a kid again. Great experience and great people!

We had a great experience, bike was really nice and easy to operate once you got the hang of it. We opted to go on our own rather than a tour and loved the bike trail along the Rio Grande. Operators were excellent - highly recommend!

Was looking to rent or test ride a trike. But I was shown 3 ebikes that were dirty and old looking that were rentals and not to mention the prices to rent them. Better do your research and go somewhere else for better rentals.

Free to Roam is bringing the future! Their e-bikes are a great way to get around and really make you feel like the vanguard of a new movement. It's great to have a service so adaptable to the needs of both riders and the city.

These people were professional, helpful and knowledgeable. I rented an ebike for a few days around balloon time, to get to see alburqueque the way you only can from the seat of a bike. Everything went as planned. Great job!!!
